FINE & COUNTRY HILL HOUSE “Hill House is unrecognisable today compared to ten years ago when we moved from London. Although the period exterior charm remains the same, the interior has been sympathetically contemporised. New visitors always comment on how surprisingly modern and open the house feels despite its some four hundred year old age.”

Seller Insight “Hill House is unrecognisable today compared to ten years ago when we moved from London. Although the period exterior charm remains the same, the interior has been sympathetically contemporised. New visitors always comment on how surprisingly modern and open the house feels despite its some four hundred year old age.” “We didn’t know the area, but the location has been perfect with easy access to London, Milton Keynes and Oxford. Our children attend a school which is just a short drive away. We have particularly enjoyed being just a stones throw away from National Trust’s Waddesdon Manor. Its 12O acres are perfect for long walks, picnics not to mention their incomparable diary of events – from food markets, outdoor cinema, art exhibitions and a superb variety of seasonal children’s activities. Bicester Village with its shopping and food is also only a 15 minute drive away.” “The lovely, long garden can be seen from most of the rooms in the house and as the property faces side on to the road, we have never had an issue with noise. We’re not overlooked, and the trees and shrubs provide a natural sense of privacy. We can look out towards the Chilterns from the lawn and the garden has been the scene of many BBQs and celebrations for friends and family. We’ve hosted parties for up to 50 guests and there is room for up to 8 cars on the driveway which is always useful when entertaining.” “As with most family homes, much of everyone’s time is spent in the kitchen. Contemporary with exposed brick, natural wood and black stone it functions well as a kitchen but also as a family room and entertaining space. The original bread oven remains too – reminding us of the age of the house.” “The dining room has a wall-to-wall bespoke bookcase which makes a beautiful backdrop to a large 8 seater dining table – always fabulously full at Christmas-time.” “We will particularly miss the short-lived but gorgeous blooms of wisteria that cover the length of the house in May. Later in the year our very small, but valuable fruit harvest of damsons, apples and pears.” “The Store Room has the potential to be a fabulous annexe or work space and offers the new owners a great opportunity to add living space and value.” “After living here for 10 years, it’s now time for a family move. We will all miss this wonderful house and the spectacular beauty of the surrounding Chiltern Hills.” *
