Seller Insight It was the amazing plot surrounded by woodland that first attracted us to Long Meadow back in August 1992. When my wife and I got together after our separate garden tour, we knew it was right one for us before we’d even set foot inside the house,” recall the current owners. “We’ve made a number of improvements during our time here, including an extension comprising of a large bedroom with en-suite, study/piano room but perhaps our favourite addition has been the conservatory/sun room. It wraps around the side of the house and it’s our favourite place to relax and enjoy the beautiful sunsets. Underfloor heating ensures that it’s always warm and we use it all year round.” “The location is fabulous. The award-winning Wellington Arms restaurant is nearby and there is a good choice of eateries in the local area. There are numerous National Trust properties to visit, as well as Highclere Castle. We can walk in the peace and tranquillity of our own woodland and continue on through further countryside. There are good amenities in the nearby village of Kingsclere. A thatched village hall is at the heart of our community where there are quiz nights, harvest suppers and a bi-annual fete.” “We designed the garden to be easy maintenance and I enjoy cutting the grass on my sit on mower. There’s nothing better than cutting logs from our woods and using them in the log burner. A fenced off area is a paradise for children to run and explore and play in the tree house. I think the best bit about the garden must be the amazing array of wildlife, including pheasants, deer, woodpeckers, nut hatch and even a visiting guinea fowl (for 6 years).” “We enjoy spending time in the conservatory, but the master bedroom is a lovely room too with its views over the garden and up the meadow through the double aspect windows. “We love living in this quiet and peaceful situation where we can watch and listen to the wildlife, yet everything we need is easily accessible.” “We’ve hosted many celebrations and get togethers in the garden, including our wedding anniversary and our daughter’s wedding where we partied in the large marquee on the lawn with our guests.” “My wife always says that the conservatory is her favourite place in the world when we get back from holiday and it’s true! We’ve loved living here, but the time is right to move closer to our family in Newbury.” * * These comments are the personal views of the current owner and are included as an insight into life at the property.
