We loved the look of the barn and the large drive which initially attracted us to this property. Inside, the vaulted ceilings of the barn provide a light and airy space with beautiful oak beams throughout the kitchen, lounge, and main bedroom. The garden is lovely, and the location is ideal for both Droitwich and Worcester, with easy access to the M5 within 5 minutes. Additionally, we can walk the dogs straight from the main drive as there is a public footpath that provides several circular walks.
The barn provides a quiet and tranquil space. We love our kitchen, which we had replaced three years ago. The views from the kitchen to the Abberley Hills are fantastic, especially with the spectacular sunsets that we often experience.
The barn has great character with many oak beams, a stunning kitchen, and features that relate back to when the barn was used as a working barn. The kitchen was fitted three years ago. Having lived in the property for ten years, we had a good idea of what we needed. We are biased, but we would say it is now perfect.
We are outdoor people, so the property enables us to be outside a lot. There is ample space for our dogs and plenty of space for wildlife and growing produce. We love our garden and have spent many years planting both fruit and ornamental trees. We’ve created a large natural garden to encourage wildlife and a beautifully kept lawned area with vegetable patches close to the barn. Our patio area is huge and perfect for barbecues and entertaining. We hosted our wedding reception here with 130 visitors, including friends and neighbours, in a marquee in our garden.
We have great immediate neighbours at the barns and main farmhouse. We help and look out for each other but aren’t in each other’s space. The layout of the properties provides a good level of privacy. The wider neighbours of Brown Heath Lane all know each other and get along fabulously. There are events every year, including a summer BBQ, bonfire and fireworks, and Halloween gatherings. Recently, there was a charity clay pigeon shoot. We also have a Lane WhatsApp Group, which is great for communication and security.
We are very close to Droitwich and Worcester, where there are several independent schools, including RGS, Kings, and Bromsgrove. David Lloyd Fitness Club is just down the road. We are also 5 minutes from the M5, making it quick and easy to get to Birmingham, and Worcester Parkway train station is just 15 minutes away. There are many great places to walk, both from the doorstep and a short drive away, which is particularly useful if you have dogs.
Ask the neighbours for advice. We will still be one, as we are literally moving next door to build our own house.”*
