SELLER INSIGHT

It was the property itself and the location that really appealed to me in the first place. Overlooking the River Nene, the house is well built to a high standard and nicely positioned in a plot of nearly 4 acres, so it’s peaceful and private. I knew the area as I grew up here and I also have my business here too, so I thought that it could work very well for us,” says the owner.

“We have some lovely walks around the village and a footpath nearby that leads down to the river where you’re always assured of seeing people out walking with their dogs. Benwick is a friendly place to live with a good community spirit that’s even more apparent after the events of the past few years. The closest shops to us are in Whittlesea, March, and Ramsey, but we also have a shop in the village that stocks all of the daily essentials. Cambridge is a little further afield and I absolutely love it there! It’s such a nice day out as it’s full of diversity, greenery, places to eat, and things to do.”

“We have a greenhouse and raised beds to grow our own fruit and veg, such as lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, peppers, parsnips, and all kinds of beans. My wife is very green fingered, so she enjoys spending time out in the garden and it’s a wonderful way to relax. We have a couple of places to sit and take in the views and there’s always something to look out for, including the occasional muntjac deer and kingfishers on the river. I think the outside space offers a really exciting opportunity for the new owners to make their own.”

“We’ve lived here for 4 years now and the time is right for us to downsize. The property was fairly new when we moved in and the layout has suited us well, so we haven’t had to make any major changes. It’s a wonderful, big house with plenty of space for dayto-day family life and entertaining. The living room is a lovely room where we like to sit at the end of a busy day and relax in front of the wood burner, whilst the large kitchen dining room is the busy part of the house as it’s ideal for cooking and get-togethers with friends and family.”*
