The Gate House has provided us with a perfect environment for peaceful and tranquil living, whilst being ideal for entertaining family and friends, being located within the beautiful New Forest National Park - and also close to spectacular local coastal facilities.”

Since moving in, the owners have made many improvements to the property. “We have added a conservatory to make the most of the garden even in winter,” they say, “as well as having a new kitchen fitted. We have replaced the double glazing with li ghtly tinted glass to reduce glare, and installed a new oil-fired boiler and hot water tan k. Solid oak flooring has been laid downstairs, a new staircase built, and all bathrooms including the downstairs toilet replaced. Electric gates have been fitted at the entrance to the property and double electric doors fitted to the garage. We also installed solar pane ls which have the optimum feed in tariff, which will transfer to the new owners and is set to run for another 12/13 years.”

“The Gate House is not a super-modern house,” continue the owners, “but has all the comforts of contemporary living. What it does provide is an extremely solid, very wellbuilt private country home, that gives peace and tranquillity, surrounded by The New Forest, whilst having schools (including the renowned Durlston Court Preparatory and Senior Schools), shops and transport facilities nearby. We shall miss the spacious, light rooms, and definitely the external views and quietness that have given us and our fam ily such pleasure for nearly 20 years. During our time here, we have hosted large wedding parties for both our children, then many family events including our grandchildren wanting to come and stay with us. They all simply love The Gate House. The house is cosy and warm in winter and cool and airy in summer. You can watch the sun rise from the main bedroom balcony and watch it set whilst enjoying an evening aperitif in the conservatory. The house really comes into its own during the festive season, with every single Christmas having been spent with our family here. We shall be very sad to leave The Gate House, but it is time to move on and we will take with us nearly two decades of wonderful memories of this amazing environment. We sincerely hope th at the new owners will build a wonderful memory bank of their own in this lovely home.”*
