ABBOTS BROMLEY Situated in the heart of England, Abbots Bromley is a picturesque village of character and history. The history of the village can be traced back to before the Norman Conquest. The village is also a thriving community that combines a respect for fine heritage and traditions with the practicalities of life in the 21st century. A regular entrant, and frequent winner, in the Staffordshire Best Kept Village competition, Abbots Bromley is a community that takes pride in the way the village looks. The village also boasts the church of St Nicholas, founded in 1002AD but rebuilt over the centuries. It is home to the oldest of the antlers used in the September Horn Dance and is a popular venue for weddings, blessings and christenings with a bell ringing group. The Village Hall plays host to regular users including exercise and dance groups, badminton, pilates and yoga sessions, and a local youth club. Also on the site are the tennis courts used by the Abbots Bromley Village Tennis Club, a bowls green and clubhouse for members, children’s play area and five a side pitch. Abbots Bromley also offers a cricket club, football club, guides and scouts groups and both juniors and adults Sailing Club. The Staffordshire Way long distance path passes through Abbots Bromley on the 93-mile (148 km) route from Mow Cop to Kinver Edge. For those who enjoy their exercise in less challenging portions, there are many delightful circular walks starting and ending in the village with a great selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants to refuel. The village has recently been named as one of the Top 12 Places to live in the Midlands by the Sunday Times. There are good road links into Lichfield, Uttoxeter, Rugeley and Burton upon Trent with the A38 and A50 a short drive away. There is also a regular public bus route running through the village allowing for access to nearby villages and towns.



LICHFIELD Lichfield is Staffordshire’s premier heritage city nestled in the heart of the country’s most creative county, just north of Birmingham. With a city that’s steeped in heritage and a district that’s alive with action and adventure, it’s well worth a visit. Packed with things to do and see - from the thrills and spills of Drayton Manor, to the serenity of the National Memorial Arboretum - there’s something to suit all tastes. Stunning Lichfield Cathedral is set within the beautifully serene Cathedral Close, and it’s a great place to visit. The 800 year old cathedral, is the third building on the site, and has a fascinating history. Lichfield’s medieval streets are lined with tempting shops, from high street chains to original boutiques. You’ll find antique shops, jewellers, antiquarian booksellers, music shops, delicatessens and much more. Three Spires Shopping Centre also offer high street favourites such as Debenhams, M&S food, WHSmith and there’s plenty more to choose from. The Lichfield Festival, an international arts festival, has taken place every July for 30 years. The festival is a celebration of classical music, dance, drama, film, jazz, literature, poetry, visual arts and world music. Lichfield is served by two railway stations, Lichfield City and Lichfield Trent Valley. These stations are on the Cross-City Line to Redditch via Birmingham. Additionally, Trent Valley station is on the West Coast Main Line with semi-fast services between London Euston - Stoke, Stafford and Crewe. Despite being north of Birmingham, trains to London Euston can take as little as 1 hour 10 minutes.



Location Ashleigh is located in the pretty village of Abbots Bromley, off the B5014 Uttoxeter Road and close to Blithfield Reservoir. The 790 acre reservoir and much of the surrounding woodland is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. It’s also home to the local sailing club offering at least 120 acres of clean water, 180 for open meetings and 300 during the winter months. Within minutes you find the local amenities in the village high street, with its local shops, eateries, village hall and schools. The village is home to the renowned Abbots Bromley School, a boarding and day independent school for girls aged 3–18 and for boys aged 3-11. Motorways Located a few miles from Junction 14 of the M6 with speedy links to M6 Toll, M42, M40 and M1 – commuters can reach London within 2 ½ hours. Birmingham International Airport and the NEC are within a 45 minute drive where the main line railway into London Euston can be found. Railway Stations The nearest railway station is at Rugeley which is 5.8 miles south west of the village. Airports Birmingham International Airport is located 33 miles away which, via the M6 Toll, is approximately 45 minutes drive. East Midlands Airport is 32.5 miles away, via the A50, approximately 40 minutes drive.
