He stated, “We have had a tremendous amount of interest in The Lauren given it’s a downtown location and it’s urban.” Goodwin has watched as the area transitions from “being a space that was universally despised by the debt and equity markets to one that is now coming back.” He’s also encouraged by another high-end condo project the 1788 Holdings team is involved in, The Estate Condominiums at Quarry Springs which has drawn strong interest. The team also takes confidence in the robust expansion in high-end properties in other major cities compared to D.C., which has been relatively quiet. It has been down by 43% over the last year and “off” compared to the last 5 yearaverage, with sales and pending listings down and active listings up 20%. However, August was a good month and I feel that the sales are looking strong for the fall. It will take time to catch up with the excess of inventory but the market will eventually catch up. What are you thoughts on the future of the real-estate market in Great Falls? The Great Falls real estate market slow down was mainly caused by the sellers trying to push the values of their homes while in a flat market. Great Falls is and will always be a desirable place to live, because there will always be people that want a larger lot, great schools, and a community of all single-family
