Meeting was opened by welcome remark form UNIC, then wanted to know progress since the launching of action/2015 in January. According to action 2015 coordinator after the launching of the campaign series of discussions have been made among different stakeholders especially CSOs to see how we can take the campaign forward where plan for way forward is in its final stage. How are we taking campaign forward and make it live. Here it was agreed that there is no way that we can seize from making campaign run, no matter what challenges we might be facing especially on financial, we have to do something. It was discovered that most of Tanzania know nothing or have little information about whatever process happening especially in global level because there is no clear feedback mechanism for those who participating in negotiations. Therefore it was agreed that we have to call for meeting with different stake holders to see how we can unpack those information and disseminate them to the members of community so they can be aware of what is happening and how they can be fully engaged. Also it was discovered that all NGOs and CSOs are working on MDGs related issues but they really don’t know that they are working to compliment work done by the government to make sure that MDGs are achieved, neither most of people and NGOs no nothing or have little knowledge about MDGs and SDGs. Therefore, it was agreed that there is a great need for capacity building to CSOs on the process and make them part of it knowingly. Involving youth on the process. It was agreed that youth are most important group to be involved in taking the campaign forward, but we should find a best way that they will be involved both by learning, discussing, sharing and
even competing on their understanding level. Therefore, it was agreed that we have to design a program that will involve youth in competition about MDGs, for example easy writing competition, round table youth talks e.tc where at the end we will reward those who became winners. It was agreed that if this will be taken into action winner will be awarded during international Youth Day.
Opportunities that we can use for partnership. 2015 is a year of United Nations where it will be celebrating UN at 70, it was agreed that we can find out how we can use this opportunity to address about action/2015 while supporting UN on its commemoration. Also it was suggested that we can approach different embassies for support on achieving out targeted goals. What to be done with the fact that we are facing financial challenges. Financing activities to be taken is a big challenge that is facing us, but we cannot sit and relax because we don’t have money. The best way is to see how we can come together, plan for resources mobilization and plan for cost effective activities to be done with great impact. It was agreed that this will be discussed in detail on next meeting which will include all member organization. AoB Reviewing of UN and National MDGs implementation Report and National. It was suggested that, so as to understand the really situation of MDG implementation, we have to review those reports, analyze them and see how they reflect the reality in the community. This will help us in addressing those MGDs unfinished business and make sure that when we advocate for campaign we really address the needs of the community, not only from the books and political views. Way forward.
Call for meeting which will comprise all GCAP/Action 2015, Beyond 2015 members and other stakeholders to brainstorm and plan for activities to be taken between April and June 2015. Prepare a concept note to share with different stakeholders for financial support. Think on a best way to involve youth and make them agenda takers. Preparing a clear communication channel for feedback especial from government and people who are participating on those intergovernmental negotiations. Community outreach to raise their awareness on MDGs/SDGs and action 2015 campaign and how they can be involved. Media outreach, as this will be best way to reach out many people. Plan for meeting with government officials who are participating on intergovernmental negotiations to discuss on how we can work together to achieve whatever in action as one.
