By Nicole Schouela a rhyming book for young readers
Sophia was a girl with a heart like a pearl but her head was square and the problem began there.
Her mother and father and sister and brother had heads that were round
In her whole village not one square head could be found
Sophia was lonely, sad, and blue Tell me, have you ever felt that way too?
She stayed in her room and sang a tune
Poor me, poor me Oh can’t you see I look like no one And no one looks like me
But she had a secret that no one knew Under her hair, on the top of her head Was a little doorway That led to a bed
This bed was magic And once she got in She could travel to places No one else had been.
She saw strange looking animals With noses like hoses
And ears made of candy Now isn’t that dandy?
There were trees that were red And a sky that was yellow
Oh no can it be? Is that a cow eating
jello!
She flew over the moon And under the stars She caught a rainbow And stretched it to Mars
She skipped She spun She leaped
And danced
She looked over here She looked over there And what did she see? She saw heads that were square!
Not
1
not
2
Not 3 or 4 But 100’s and 100’s And a whole lot more
They looked just like her They welcomed her in
0
They hugged her and loved her And gave her
a pin
It had the shape of a square And words on the back that said THERE IS ONLY ONE YOU AND THAT’S A FACT
And from that day on, Sophia was proud
She knew she was special And she shouted out loud
MY HEAD MAY BE SQUARE I MAY NOT LOOK LIKE YOU
BUT I LOVE WHO I AM WILL YOU LOVE ME TOO?
The End
