As we continue to exploit the world’s resources, a growing number of its population are becoming increasingly concerned about the effects we are having on our planet. Shocking headlines such as London breaching the annual air pollution limit in just five days into 2017 stress the importance of change. Fashion can take small steps in order to make a change, for instance, using much more sustainable fabrics. Plant based fabrics such as bamboo could be an excellent alternative fabric for active wear, as it is highly absorbent, fast drying and naturally anti-bacterial. The following Fall 2017 GAP Fit collection takes into consideration the importance of sustainability, seeking inspiration from our natural surroundings within print, colour and fabric and combining this with GAP’s classic heritage.
