Self Evaluation

! !

Working within a group tests a wide range of an individuals attributes. From having worked in groups in the past, I was able to apply a developed basis of a preconceived work ethic. I believe communication and understanding of others is of the highest importance when working within a team. I ensured the recognition and appraisal of innovative and relevant ideas was given when appropriate. This not only encourages each team member to contribute ideas and efforts, but also begins to build a cohesive and supportive team. Initial strengths built and expanded upon during this time was firstly innovative thinking and a diverse approach to problem solving. Considering areas that may not have been previously considered. Creating a cohesive concept, drawing from a range of influences was also evident within my first project. Identifying problems and seeking solutions through research form a range of resources. Maintaining a professional attitude throughout the process was not faltered and I intended to apply this quality to all areas of my future work. An important area of development recognised at this point was public speaking and presentation. Through no fault of preparation and practise I was unable to present to the best of my ability, due to anxiety and panic attacks. However this is something I strive to work on and attempt to control. Consideration of presentation and promotion is something to build upon, as concentration was centred around concept development. However I believe that the experience broadened my awareness and consideration of the final stages in all aspects of creative concept development, especially in relation to time management. Using the process to enhance my second project has served me well in maintaining and building upon my strengths and weaknesses. Maintaining efficient time management to consider broad research and identifying relevant opportunities. I continue to look outside the box to innovative and interesting areas of consideration. Applying a diverse and unconventional approach to problem solving and using alternative areas of inspiration. I believe I applied additional focus upon presentation of ideas and a final product, although I believe I can improve this even further in final year. Reflecting on both projects I would like to develop my skills of broadening immediate possibilities of ideas and research to ensure a well rounded and thoroughly considered concept, avoiding missed opportunities. I also firmly believe the diversity of my work, visually, is something to be improved upon in preparation for final year. I intend to achieve this by expanding experimentation from a wide range of new research and influences. Whilst ensuring the logical connection between ideas is not lost through my personal preference of interests.
