Everyday stress is becoming more dominant in modern society. The amount of pressure an individual encounters is causing a generation that yearns for relief. Flowing fabrics, muted tones and simple silhouettes; this range of chic loungewear provides comfort appropriate for the 21st century lifestyle. Relaxing in style is easy, whether worn in the comfort of our own homes or in the public eye. Find a way to escape. Find your relief.

Typography From my initial research I began to experiment with illustrating some of the words that stood out. I have showcased them using typography reecting the mood or meaning of the word. Due to creating a range of loungewear I chose a font that looked more relaxing - NHS and simple to be used for my range.
Loungewear
The evolvement from 2010 to 2016. Loungewear is now something we would chose to wear outside the house if fashionable enough.

Fashion retailers have already begun to notice this need for stylish loungewear. However, tends to be brand that cater for an older audience.

Using different prints and fabric manipulation to create interesting loungewear. Becoming daring that what already exists in stores and online.
Placing materials in front of the camera lens to create different levels of transparency. The selected photographs also show distortion. Reflecting my research of those who suffer from mental illness often distort their own personality to hide how they really feel.

The stores I researched when carrying out my shop report were chosen based on two main factors: firstly do they sell loungewear and secondly if it was within the price range that most students stated they would spend on loungewear (figure derived from the online questionnaire). I was primarily looking at the silhouettes and colour palettes currently on the market. But I also what fabrics and prints are used for loungewear.

Textures
Textures and fabrications created to represent the stages of mental illness and what is believed to cause them. Showing tension, representing the build up of many potential causes that lead to these health issues. Then cocoon like structures and bordered fabric to represent the stage of trapping yourself in the comfort of your own home. Avoiding the outside world and activities that used to be enjoyable. I experimented with transparency and fragility to show the final stage of recovery, when everything beginning to strip away to reveal the person that once existed before becoming a victim of a mental illness.
Gap in the market loungewear that female students would wear out the house.
Needs to be comortable when studying in different areas of Colour the home/student flat.
Story
