4. What drives you to apply for another role in AIESEC, and what are your personal goals in life that drives you to apply for the Member Committee of AIESEC in Costa Rica? Basically there are 3 reasons why I am applying for MC 16.17: my MC 15.16 term, my personal goals and this Pura Vida Generation. The first 6 months of my MC term I describe them as: CHALLENGING AND CHANGING. Applying for MCVP oGCDP 2 times, being selected by the MC as BD Manager and becoming (illegally haha) MCVP iGIP and again not being elected, what a journey! But somehow, this really make me more selfaware and I knew I could do it so I kept working and learning from the mistakes I have done, so after some wins and some mistakes , I got the BoVP I was waiting for and in a month we have proven that only hard work can make things happen, I see clearly where we are taking this iGIP area and now that I am getting elected for current MCVP , I Know that if I finish in June , I will be missing like half of my MC term, because that is how I feel and of course I feel passionate and responsible of founding the bases for this area that right now is little but with a lot of potential to grow and I know that when I leave AIESEC in Costa Rica I want to see iGIP relevant as it can be, so I want to work for that. My personal goals are end the university and find the right company to work, and iGIP is putting me in the right way and of course I want to be in IC 2016 because is going to be the first IC of the 2020 generation. I have been in AIESEC in Costa Rica since 2012 and I have never seen more potential in a generation of leaders than this one, I see this generations of doers, people who are leaving apart the excuses and start acting, people who are working together within the LCs and the MC, and people with a clear purpose of what we are doing and this is THE PURA VIDA GENERATION, and I want to be still part of this.

5. Give us a chance to know you better, state your main strengths & weaknesses and your main values (Think out of the box and name some AIESEC values). Streghts: • Perseverance: a NO won’t stop me, to achieve what I want!

• Solution Oriented: If there is any problem , there is not just one way to solve it • Passionate: If I do something , it’s because I love it • Time management: If I really need to do something, there always time , no excuses! Weakness: • Lead by emotions: Sometimes emotions play a hard time with me, and this also affects because I care what people thinks about me. • Procastinating: When I got a lot of things to do, sometimes before finishing one I start the other and then come back to the first one

• Impatience: Sometimes I want things to happen fast, but it takes time to see result, so this can get me anxious. Values: • Striving for excellence: • Responsible:

• Proactiveness ( enjoting participation):

6. What would be your unique contribution to the MC 16.17 team? As being part of the MC Switch, my unique contribution will be the continuity of the Pura Vida Generation from MC perspective and the foundation of the bases of iGIP in Costa Rica, and of course this can make a great diference because what happen sometimes in the MCs , is that we start from 0 and this take us a lot of time. Also the national understanding as a Tica and as an AIESECer that have been in this organization for more than 4 years.

7. What is your expectation towards the MC as a team? What are possible challenges you foresee in your future MC team? What is your solution for that? I expect the people who will be in this team , contribute for this Pura Vida Generation. MC team as one, working together with good synergies, supporting each other when it is necessary, giving feedback on the spot, being honest and transparent with each other and also empathic with everyone experience. I think the biggest challenge I see right now is ADAPTABILITY, because I just came from a different and unique MC team with a great experience, but I also think that I can use my strengths to see this like an opportunity of a new team and new goals accomplish.

8. What does AIESEC give to Costa Rica and to the world? Why we are unique? How can Costarican youth be more connected to what Costa Rica needs and Costa Rica more connected with AIESEC? To answer this question first i need to describe for me how our country and our youth are. We are know by a country that is growing for its tourism because all the natural beauty we have, because of our Pura Vida culture and people, for our peace and not having an army, our peole are dreamers and passionate but sometimes we dont know how to use that passion to accomplish our dreams, we are so realx that sometimes we let others take our decisions and this can be reflected in the politics when we are about to choose our president, we dont go an vote and then we are complaining about it, we are known by our tico time and our lack of commitment, when we see things are getting rough and we are getting out of our confort zone we quit because is the easy way to act. But our country is full of iniciatives, now we can see a great support to the entreprenurials and social iniciatives so that is why AIESEC is relevant for Costa Rica, we have everything to take the country to another levell but sometimes we dont use our resourses and by resourse i mean the people. AIESEC can develop those people to actually keep dreaming but start acting, to be focus and lead the change, to be open minset and start doing things that matters, to know whats wrong and whats right, to think about the others, so imagine if the leader of our country would be AIESECers, just imagine a president of Costa Rica that have been through all the AIESEC experience and of course by developing leaderships that will change our country someday, we can change the world. The only way that costarrican youth can be more connected to what Costa Rica needs is UNDERSTANDING THE ROLE YOUTH HAVE RIGHT NOW to change things and have a better Costa Rica, so Youth Speak is the way right now we as AIESECer have to connect youth with their role, and Costa Rica with AIESEC, for a positive impact.

10. Please explain the AIESEC Way as if you were talking with a parent of one of your local presidents and this parent does not understand why AIESEC is important for his son/daughter and Costarican society

Former LCP’s Mom

Former LCP

“Maybe right now is difficult to understand why your son goes to conferences, spend a lot of time with people from AIESEC , ask you for money to go to international events, but your son is going through a journey that is developing him as a person who will become more selfaware of himself, right now he is leading a team where he is in charge of empowering them to achieve their goals as organization and also as a person, he will live different situations where he will need to find solutions to overcome the problem and while doing this he will have the chance of having the world a little closer, he is part of a international organization, that make him be connected personally or virtually to other parts of the world by making friends that want the same thing than him, developing leadership and looking for the peace and fulfillment of humankinds potential. Just think for a moment and try to remember how your son was like 2 years ago and how is he right now, and if you haven’t pay attention, try to answer this question at the end of this year. For your son many doors are going to be open by being in AIESEC (personally and in a professional way), it happen to me and of course I can tell you more about my history if you want, but right now I can tell you that your son is becoming a leader that can change how things are right now and Costa Rica needs that, people on leadership positions that can work as a team to make this country a better place to live. Parents support is essential in this journey and you will see it through time, you are investing on your son future for sure”

11. What is AIESEC in Costa Rica missing to shape what we do around what Costa Rica needs, to grow disruptively and to become accessible to everyone, everywhere? I think we are getting there and we are working for that, taking the right steps to achieve A2020. To shape what we do around what the world needs, first we need to understand the problems we are facing right now and which SDG we need to work the most so then align our projects to those SDGs. Then for growing disruptively is really connected with becoming accessible to everyone, everywhere, we need to become more virtual and using digital marketing strategies, so companies and students can get quickly and easier to our network and of course I think that a principle thing we need to do is working closer with the government so we can be acknowledge in a national level. This things we can get closer by Youth Speak initiative.

9. How do you envision to communicate and work with your network? How are you going to develop and empower them? How will you ensure their right performance and focus? Understanding all the questions are connected, network means my BoVP 16.17. For me communication and work are connected with our culture. Having a strong culture with the right minset and rules will make as have a clear communication and work through our purpose. Developing them and empowering them are part of our LDM and this is align with the implementation of the team standards, so good synergy with TM to manage them in the correct way and pushing them to take any opportunity they have like being faci, chair, delegates of international conferences etc. Their performance and focus are also connected with I am saying before but for the part tracking and education will be essential.( Tracking tools, BoVP Meetings, Education Cycle, Monthly reports etc)

12. What will AIESEC in Costa Rica remember about the 2016|17 term? Describe which will be the key milestones you commit to strive for during this term. How will AIESEC in Costa Rica look like in July of 2017? AIESEC in Costa Rica will be known as the Pura Vida Generation that made a disruptive and sustainable growth by developing leadership in every experience. Key Millstone I commit: • IGIP Process Standarize ( Migration process clear) • Strong purposeful culture in AIESEC in Costa Rica and iGIProud Culture • Generating long lasting relations with our TN Takers • Make leadership the center of our operations by engaging our TN Takers with our LDM AIESEC in Costa Rica July 2017: • Sustaible growth in iGCDP, growth in oGCDP and madurity of iGIP • 4 LC Full Status and 2 expansions

• Government alliance with AIESEC boosting iGCDP • Strong cluster 3 , closer to cluster 2 • 80%+ Implementation of team standards • 80% retentation rate membership • Tico pipeline for MC

• 3 LCs doing 100Xs GCDP

1. Please make a SWOT analysis of oGCDP in Costa Rica and define your statement for the area, set your 3 main focus drivers for the term 16.17 and explain it. What are the expected outcomes of the actions you set?

Strenghts:

Weaknesses

Opportunities:

Threats:

• National Market ( Companies Headquarters of CentroAmerica Located in CR)

Generate long lasting relations between companies and AIESEC, by delivering relevant and positive leadership experiences in this Pura Vida Generation.

iGIProud ( Culture): To ensure members are working with the right minset and in the right way by enjoying and developing leadership to bring more iGIP experiences. • Education Cycle Implementation • Strong Team Indentity of IGIP Network • Clear Rules of Information Managment (CRM) • Clear Rules of comunication ( Tracking tool) • Bottom Up Culture • Weekly BoVP Meetings • CF 2.0 Implementation Leadership Development : To ensure our operations and experiences are actually developing the leadership we are promessing. • LEAD for Trainnes ( LDM) • Co working with TM: Team Standards Managment • Product Packing Focus on LDM • Tracking Trainnes experiences Long Lasting Relations ( Account Managment): To ensure our TN Takers become our partners to develop leadership with the experiences we are co delivering. • Involve TN takers on LEAD Sessions • Tracking of the servicing • TN Takers + ( Conference sponsors, Youth Speak , Workshops) • Right Migration Process • Showcaising our partners experiences

Note: Process Standarization is my Dirver now as current : Sales Standarization ( from CRM to sales portafolio), Migration Process Satandarization, S&S and LEAD timeline for trainnes)

2. How should it be the synergy between the MCVP BD and MCVP F&L according to the Customer Flow? Why is so important this synergy in the AIESEC Costa Rica’s reality? For BD the most strong synergy is in the part of Atraction and Consideration: • Creation of new contacts • Co-selling with iGIP • MKT Segmentation • Approach of goverment and universities ( For more credibility) • Sales Portafolio ( MKT Synergy) • Sales Education For FLA the most strong synergy is in the part of Consideration and Value Delivery: • Documentation of the trainne and the Company • Invocing • Trainne scholarship payment • Support in migration • Audits of CRM and Documentation All Costumer Flow is a process and we need to make sure everything is done in the right way, because this will lead us to have long lasting relations and promotors of AIESEC. Since making the right contacts, selling in the right way through managing the experience of the trainne and the Company. Only if we work together we can focus on our tasks and actually being able to develop leadership in the experiences we give.

3. What will be your strategy to solve Migration problems?

The strategy as me being current right now is like I am doing it: WORKING SINCE NOW. But Just to make sure this is the process we are running, the thing we still to figure out and how I am going to do it. Process: 1.

Meeting with the trainne as soon as he is APPROVED, for letting him know the process and the documents he needs to bring.

2.

Before arriving making sure the trainee have all the documents and send them online.

3.

Paying the $ for migration process

4.

Going to the Embassy and taking the “Huellas” in Ministerio de Seguridad.

5.

Go to Migration and open the file

6.

Complete papers if it is necesary.

7.

Tracking the process ( Calling and going to the meetings)

8.

If it is aproved: paying the volunteer ensurance in CCSS ( We need the number of the “patrono” of the TN Taker) IF it is not approved: ?)

9.

Photo and DIMEX

Things we still dont know:  We dont know if it is legal to pay the volunteer ensurance with the number of “patrono” of the TN Taker.  We dont know what to do if it not approved the DIMEX What I am doing:  Looking for Legal advice  Looking the possibility of outsourcing this service ( BD synergy, GCP Panama)

4. How will you encourage and guarantee Global Entrepreneur development and massive growth for the term 16.17? • Costa Rica has a great market for implementation of GE. We try it to work in my first semester but was bad implement , so what we need to do is understand, standardize the program and capitalize our resourses. • Strategic Alliances with “Yo Emprendedor” and business incubators • Using Youth Speak as a event to boost the acknowledgment of GE with the government and companies • Product Packing ( Profiles, Pricing, Countries) • Cooperations with Mexico and Argentina ( TOP in LATAM for OGX GE ) 5. How you will ensure that all our Partners of iGIP co‐develop leadership with AIESEC and that every single experience we are providing for our trainees is enabling them to develop the 4 qualities of LDM? If we look our costumer flow, in the part of value delivery is were the magic happens because there is the part were we actually are developing leadership and of course the ones who are in charge of this are our members and our partners. So we first we need to make sure our members understand our LDM and implement in all iGIP process ( Education cycle and team standards management) , then we can focus on this: •

Including our Goldem Circle and LDM in our sales speech and portafolio. ( so since the sales companies understand we are developing leadership not just oursoursing people to their company)
