An Urban Art Living Museum

Among 94 tematic rooms, Muraless Art Hotel celebrates the Italian genius and excellence in every sector: wine, opera, cinema, vehicles, art, architecture, design, history, science, food, fashion and music.

A brand new accommodation facility born in the district of Verona from Gianmaria Villa’s dream to make a revival of the former Hotel Cristallo. An intervention that has inducted a radical upgrading in the field of language and of Art expressive characters, to enhance Italian excellence. Thanks to his friendship with Luigi Leandrini, an art advisor, it was possible to undertake a journey that led to studying and developing a new concept for the hotel. Together, they navigated between tools and creative techniques (from aerosol art to stencil, from paste up to freehand painting), styles and forms of expression (from lettering to 3D modeling, from graphic to digital photography, from cartoons to illustration), between means of communication and modern codes (from figurative to abstract, from hyperrealism to anamorphosis).

Main characters of this genesis are international writers, called to interpret, with their creative flair, the assorted excellencies of the Bel Paese (Italy). By this approach, the Hotel, which name highlights the absence of boundaries in the artistic language, aspires to become a painting without frames, a light and seethrough container that is at the same time powerful and explosive,

Il progetto, interamente coordinato dal Project Manager Laura Sancassani, nella fase di interior (personalizzazione camere) è stato elaborato dalla curatrice e critica d’arte Chiara Canali in collaborazione con la Galleria d’arte di Milano “Deodato Arte”. Grazie a questa formidabile unione, Muraless può vantare opere dei principali writer nazionali e, fiore all’occhiello, di Mr. Brainwash, che ha realizzato un’opera unica, site specific per Muraless Art Hotel. Thierry Guetta è uno degli street artist più richiesti e riconosciuti a livello internazionale, le sue quotazioni sono in continua crescita. Dopo il successo del documentario candidato agli Oscar “Exit through the gift shop” (2010), realizzato in collaborazione con Banksy, la domanda sorge spontanea “Mr Brainwash é Banksy?” Per molti la risposta è sì.

Il progetto d’hotellerie a sign of the Italian multi-level genius. The project, fully coordinated by the Project Manager Laura Sancassani, was elaborated by the songwriter and art critic Chiara Canali, along with Milan Art Gallery “Deodato Arte”, during the customisation of the rooms. In the light of this union, Muraless can rely on the artistic works made by the most famous national writers and by the flagship Mr. Brainwash. This writer realized a one-of-akind piece, site-specific for the Muraless Art Hotel. Thierry Guetta is one of the most valued and worldwide recognised street artists, and his prices are constantly growing. After the success of the Oscar candidate documentary “Exit through the gift shop” (2010), realized in collaboration with Banksy, the question arises: “Is Mr. Brainwash Banksy?” for several people the answer is positive.

Muraless Hotel è un Art Hotel 4 stelle, destinato a una clientela business e bleisure. La sua vicinanza all’autostrada, alla Fiera di Verona e al centro storico, lo rendono il luogo ideale per chi viaggia per lavoro e desidera prolungare il proprio soggiorno per visitare la città scaligera. Offre 94 stanze, distribuite su 3 piani, arredate in stile urban e dotate di tutti i comfort. A realizzarle e a curarne gli interni hanno contribuito più di 50 street artist di fama internazionale che con il loro personalissimo stile hanno interpretato la loro visione del Made in Italy. Ogni camera è diversa dall’altra e permette ad ogni soggiorno di immergersi in una nuova atmosfera che alterna mood rilassanti ad altri energizzanti a seconda del tema. Moda, musica, motori, vino e design, ciascuno ha la possibilità di abbracciare la propria passione e di viverla in una dimensione inedita. Sono stati chiamati alle armi – dalla curatrice Chiara Canali coadiuvata da Andrea Zamengo – le storiche firme del writing italiano (Joys, Etnik, Wubik, Frode, Gatto, Mister Thoms, MrFijodoor) i nomi della Street Art e del Muralismo (Neve, Cheone, Vesod, Seacreative, Refreshink, Casciu, Luca Font, Ufo5, Ale Puro) e gli esponenti delle nuove generazioni (Chill Surrealism, Luogocomune, Rise, Soler). Non mancano le quote rosa che annoverano protagoniste femminili del calibro di Coquelicot Mafille, Nais, Senso, Octofly.

The hotellerie Project

Muraless Hotel is a 4 star Art Hotel, destined to a business and leisure clientele. This Hotel is the ideal accommodation for people who need to do business trips or for the ones that desire to extend their stay in the city that once was of the Della Scala Family, because of its proximity to the highway. It offers 94 rooms, spread over 3 floors, furnished in urban style and equipped with all comforts. More than 50 street artists of international renown have contributed to the realization and care of the interiors, who with their very personal style have interpreted their vision of Made in Italy. Each room is different from the other and allows people to immerse themselves in a new atmosphere that alternates both relaxing and energizing moods depending on the theme. Fashion, music, engines, wine and design, everyone has the opportunity to embrace their passion and live it through a new dimension. Historic signatures of the Italian writing (Joys, Etnik, Wubik, Frode, Gatto, Mister Thoms, MrFijodoor) the names of Street Art and Muralism (Neve, Cheone, Vesod, Seacreative, Refreshink, Casciu, Luca Font, Ufo5, Ale Puro) and the exponents of the new generations (Chill Surrealism, Luogocomune, Rise, Soler) were summoned by by the curator Chiara Canali, assisted by Andrea Zamengo. There is no shortage of women presence, that include female protagonists such as Coquelicot Mafille, Nais, Senso, Octofly.

Dagli spazi comuni alle camere, la struttura accompagna l’ospite in un personalissimo viaggio tra fantasia e realtà. Una strada di colore culmina nell’ingresso dove il pavimento della hall è protagonista grazie al dipinto di Agron Hoti, artista visuale contemporaneo di fama internazionale che con la sua tecnica crea esplosioni di colore di rara energia. L’albergo offre anche due sale riunioni con adiacente un Lounge Bar, per un servizio di welcome e coffee break, oltre che di aperitivi pre and after dinner. Spazi ideali per ospitare convention aziendali o per ispirare attività di workshop e coworking.

From the common areas to the rooms, the structure accompanies the guest in a very personal journey between fantasy and reality. A colorful street culminates in the entrance hall where the lobby floor is the protagonist thanks to Agron Hoti’s painting, contemporary visual artist of international fame who, with his technique, creates rare energy explosions of color. The hotel also offers two meeting rooms with an adjacent Lounge Bar, for a welcome and coffee break service, as well as pre and after dinner aperitifs. For this reason the HOtel is perfect to host business conventions or to inspire workshops and coworking activities.

Le stanze

Ogni stanza racconta un tema, un episodio, un soggetto, un personaggio tra i più iconici della cultura italiana nei diversi campi in cui la nostra nazione ha saputo eccellere nel corso della storia. Si sviluppa così un’esperienza totalmente immersiva e polisensoriale, tra ricettività alberghiera e valorizzazione del territorio e della cultura del genio italiano. Passando da una stanza all’altra si possono contemplare i classici dell’arte italiana quali Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Tiziano, Caravaggio, Tiepolo, Canova, Modigliani, De Chirico e Depero; si rimane inebriati dalle scenografie e dalle atmosfere della Turandot, della Traviata, del Rigoletto, del Barbiere di Siviglia e di Madama Butterfly; si può fare un tuffo nella storia della Roma dei mosaici pompeiani o dei Papi oppure si può scoprire la storia dei grandi navigatori e, ancora, commemorare episodi di vita dantesca; si possono conoscere le invenzioni di alcuni celebri scienziati italiani come Guglielmo Marconi (radio), Alessandro Volta (pila), Antonio Meucci (telefono); Margherita Hack. Per gli amanti del cinema, è d’obbligo osservare le vicende di alcuni attori come Monica Vitti, Anna Magnani, Massimo Troisi o smascherare i retroscena sul set di alcuni registi come Sergio Leone, Federico Fellini o Pier Paolo Pasolini. E ancora moda, motori, design ed enogastronomia, con le avvolgenti stanze dedicate ad alcuni prodotti tipici italiani quali la pizza, il gelato, il caffè, il tortellino e, naturalmente, il Pandoro di Verona.

Passing from one room to another you can contemplate the classics of Italian art such as Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Tiziano, Caravaggio, Tiepolo, Canova, Modigliani, De Chirico e Depero; people remain inebriated by the scenography and the atmospheres of Turandot, La Traviata, Rigoletto, Barbiere di Siviglia and Madama Butterfly. moreover, they can take a dip in the history of Rome of Pompeian mosaics or Popes or you can discover the history of great navigators and, furthermore, commemorate episodes of Dante’s life; you can learn about the inventions of some famous Italian scientists such as Guglielmo Marconi (radio), Alessandro Volta (battery), Antonio Meucci (phone); Margherita Hack. For film lovers, it is a must to observe the events of some actors such as Monica Vitti, Anna Magnani, Massimo Troisi or unmask the backstage on the set of some directors such as Sergio Leone, Federico Fellini or Pier Paolo Pasolini. And also fashion, engines, design and food and wine, with the enveloping rooms dedicated to some typical Italian products such as pizza, icecream, coffee, tortellini and, of course, Pandoro di Verona.

Completa il progetto la facciata esterna, a cura di uno dei principali writer internazionali, Mr. Brainwash, in collaborazione con la Galleria d’arte Deodato Arte di Milano. La sua carriera è esplosa grazie alla partecipazione al famoso documentario “Exit Through the Gift Shop” di Banksy dove ha seguito, con la telecamera, le avventure dei più famosi street artist al mondo. I suoi lavori sono intrisi di riferimenti alla Pop Art, alla storia dell’arte e anche alle opere di altri artisti. Se l’ispirazione più diretta è l’arte del collega Banksy, non mancano riferimenti ad Andy Warhol e Keith Haring, ai supereroi dei fumetti, ai classici della Disney e alle icone della storia classica e moderna. La Monna Lisa, Marilyn Monroe, Albert Einstein che regge un cartello con la scritta Love is the Answer, Mickey Mouse e Minnie che si abbracciano sono i simboli eterni di amore e rispetto reciproco che compaiono anche nell’intervento di Mr. Brainwash sulla facciata del Muraless Art Hotel.

Mr. Brainwash facade

The project is completed by the external facade, curated by one of the leading international writers, Mr. Brainwash, in collaboration with the Deodato Arte Gallery in Milan. His career exploded thanks to the participation in Banksy’s famous documentary “Exit Through the Gift Shop” where he followed, with the camera, the adventures of the most famous street artists in the world. His works are imbued with references to Pop Art, to the history of art and also to the works of others artists. If the most direct inspiration is the art of his colleague Banksy, there are also references to Andy Warhol and Keith Haring, comic book superheroes, Disney classics and icons of classical and modern history. The Mona Lisa, Marilyn Monroe, Albert Einstein holding a sign that says Love is the Answer, Mickey Mouse and Minnie embracing are the eternal symbols of love and mutual respect, that also appear in the intervention of Mr. Brainwash on the facade of the Muraless Art Hotel.
