Ballari (PTI): Mounting a fresh attack on the Congress, PM Narendra Modi on Friday alleged that for vote bank politics, it has nurtured, given shelter and surrendered before terror.

“To make Karnataka number one in India, law and order is important. Karnataka remaining free from terror is equally important. BJP has always been harsh against terror. But whenever there is action against terror Congress will get a stomach ache,” Modi said.

At a public meeting here, Modi said today the whole world is worried about the danger of terror and that India too has on several occasions suffered due to it. The country has lost a large number of innocent civilians due to terror attacks.

“I am surprised that for its vote bank, Congress has surrendered before terror. Can such a party protect Karnataka. Under the climate of terror, the industries here, the IT industry, farmers, and rich culture and heritage here will be destroyed,” he said.

PM MODI HOLDS ROADSHOW AHEAD OF PUBLIC MEETING IN K’TAKA’S TUMAKURU

Tumakuru (PTI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday took out a roadshow in Tumakuru ahead of his public meeting here. Soon after landing at the helipad here, he rode on his bullet-proof car standing on the running board. Modi waved at the crowd that cheered him with chants of ‘Modi-Modi’. The entire stretch was decked up with BJP flags, festoons and Modi’s posters. Karnataka goes to the polls on May 10 with the results set to be declared on May 13.

‘I DID NOT ASK FOR ANY POSITION FROM THE CONGRESS’: JAGADISH SHETTAR

Hubbali (Agencies): Six-term MLA and former Karnataka CM Jagadish Shettar on Friday said that he did not ask the Congress for any position while switching over from BJP which he had served for decades. The veteran leader decided to part ways with the BJP after being denied a ticket for the May 10 Assembly polls. In an interview with a section of media, Shettar denied the speculations that the Congress offered a plum position to him. He said that he was not offered any position. The Congress gave a ticket to contest from Hubbali and it’s more than enough, he said. About his former party BJP, Shettar said, that he was humiliated by a section of the Karnataka BJP leaders and denied ticket one fine morning. “It was not the denial of ticket that infuriated me but the manner in which it was done,” he said.
