PM inaugurates new integrated state-of-the-art terminal building
The 1,36,295 sq m terminal has been developed at a cost of `1,260 crore
Chennai (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new Integrated Terminal Building (Phase-1) of Chennai International Airport on Saturday.

PM Modi was on a visit here to inaugurate several development projects. Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin and Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia were present during the ceremony.
The state-of-the-art terminal — spread across an area of 1,36,295 sq m — which will increase the passenger serving capacity from 23 million passengers per annum (MPPA) to 30 MPPA — and will be an important addition to the city’s infrastructure.
Besides boosting connectivity, it is also expected to benefit the local economy.
Among the unique features of the terminal is Skylight. This feature allows natural light to be harvested for illuminating the space inside the building.

Modi shared the warmth of CM MK Stalin who briefly held the PM’s hand and patted the back of the latter’s palm while walking through the displays exhibited at new Chennai airport terminal. Earlier, Telangana CM K Chandrashekhara Rao did not attend PM Modi’s event in Hyderabad.

ICICI BANK LOAN FRAUD: CBI FILES CHARGE SHEET AGAINST KOCHHARS AND DHOOT
New Delhi: The CBI has filed a charge sheet against former MD and CEO of ICICI Bank Chanda Kochhar, her husband Deepak Kochhar and Videocon Group founder Venugopal Dhoot in a Rs 3,250 crore loan fraud case, officials said on Saturday. The agency has filed the charge sheet under sections 120-B (criminal conspiracy) and 409 (criminal breach of trust) of the IPC and provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act, among others, they said. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has named nine entities, including companies and individuals, according to the officials.
LIVE-STREAMING OF PROCEEDINGS PLEA IN SC ON MONDAY
Chennai: The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear on Monday a plea seeking a direction for a special arrangement with YouTube for safeguarding the copyright of its livestreamed proceedings according to a 2018 judgment. According to the April 10 cause list, uploaded on the apex court’s website, a bench comprising Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and justices PS Narasimha and JB Pardiwala will hear the plea.
