Udaipur: Four policemen, including the SHO of a police station in Udaipur, were suspended while the rest were shunted to police lines after a 22-year-old man died in their custody, officials said on Friday. The police termed it to be death due to a heart attack, but the relatives alleged it to be due to brutal beating by the police.

Devra’s relatives and Rajput community leaders held a protest a kidnapping against him. A team of Raj Police detained Devra from Gujarat & brought him to Gogunda police station in Udaipur. During questioning, he fainted and was taken to a hospital where the doctors declared him dead, the police said. Director General of Police Umesh Mishra said the entire staff of the police station has been shunted to police lines while the postmortem of the body was conducted under the supervision of a judicial magistrate.
Devra’s relatives and Rajput community leaders held a protest demanding an FIR against the culprits under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC, a compensation of Rs 50 lakh for the victim’s kin along with a govt job. Following an assurance from the local administration, the family members accepted the body.
Youth kills woman, eats flesh from her face in Pali

Pali: In a shocking incident, an elderly woman was brutally killed and then her face was allegedly eaten by the murderer in the Sendra Police Station area in Pali, police said. Police informed the victim, identified as Shanti Devi (60), a resident of Sradhana village of Pali, was grazing goats in the jungles of the Sardhana area. “Shanti Devi was returning home after plucking vegetables from the farmland when suddenly a youth allegedly thrashed her head with a heavy stone. After killing the woman, the accused, identified as Surendra (24), ate the flesh of the deceased’s face,” police said.

Jaipur (PTI): The wait for justice continues, says Rakbar Khan’s wife after a Rajasthan court convicted four men in the 2018 lynching of her husband but acquitted a VHP leader she terms the “main accused”. The court in Alwar on Thursday sentenced Dharmendra Yadav, Vi- jay Kumar, Paramjeet Singh and Naresh Kumar to seven-year imprisonment in the lynching of Khan on the suspicion of cow smuggling. VHP leader Naval Kishore was acquitted due to lack of evidence against him.
“We have not got justice. They had murdered my husband. The main accused was acquitted by the court while the sentence awarded to the others is less. They should have been given strict punishment,” Khan’s wife Asmina said. The trial court’s order will be challenged in Raj HC, Khan’s family members said.

Jaipur: The suspended Joint-Director of DoIT Ved Prakash Yadav, arrested in the case in which police seized over Rs 2.31 crores in cash and 1 kg of gold biscuits from a basement of the Yojana Bhawan in Jaipur, was produced before an ACB court on Friday and sent on judicial custody till June 9. Following the arrest of Ved Prakash Yadav, senior officials, and employees of DoIT are also under suspicion. Notably, the ACB had also issued a notice to two contract firms based in Gurugram and Udaipur after the officials learnt that Ved Prakash had allegedly taken the said amount from the two companies.
The passenger was intercepted by officials after his arrival from Sharjah, UAE on an AirArabia flight.
They said that a total of 1,144 grams of smuggled gold paste with an estimated value of Rs 70.69 lakh was seized from him.
