2023 was a year full of many exciting news and achievements. Let’s take a short look back.

FULL FOCUS ON GROWTH

SIXT continued its growth trajectory in 2023. In the third quarter, SIXT generated a revenue of over EUR 1 billion for the first time ever in a single quarter. The branch network in Europe and North America grew consistently

with 12 new branch openings in the US alone. The basis for SIXT’s strong success continues to be the premium experience that SIXT provides its customers - consisting of a premium fleet and premium service.

BRAND CAMPAIGN HIGHLIGHTS GREAT EMOTIONS

With the integrated brand campaign ‘Great Emotions’, SIXT demonstrated the range of emotions a rental car can stir up – both personally and professionally. At the heart of this campaign were four distinct TV commercials, which were released in September 2023 in Germany, France, and Belgium. Each TV spot tells its own compelling story, ranging from a surprising family convertible road trip (‘Road Trip’) and the magnetic allure of a rental car (‘Birds’), to Tom meeting his in-laws for the first time (‘Sparks’). The ‘Hot Dog’ spot humorously suggests that a rental car might even inspire one to speed up their lunch break. The message of these four commercials: ‘Great Emotions’ arise with a SIXT rental car. With this integrated campaign, SIXT aims to appeal more to Generation Z, Millennials, as well as women –and inspire them to rent with SIXT. After the ‘Mieten Sie Elektromobilität’ (‘Rent Electromobility’) campaign in May 2023, ‘Great Emotions’ marked the next step in positioning SIXT with a fresh look and feel.

ANNUAL REVIEW 2023

With the Annual Review 2023, the Regine Sixt Children’s Aid Foundation TRÄNCHEN TROCKNEN explores the question of how the social participation of children can be promoted. In doing so, it is supported on a voluntary basis by Sixt employees in 110 countries. The report shows how the projects in the areas of education, health, welfare and emergency

aid are developing. The support is making progress. This is shown by the positive results of the 2023 annual report. www.drying-little-tears.org

CITYCAR AS A DONATION

At the German “BUSINESS TRAVELLER AWARDS 2023”, SIXT was awarded as the best car rental company in Germany, Europe and worldwide. In the reader survey conducted by the German business travel magazine BUSINESS TRAVELLER, SIXT took first place in these three categories – repeating its success from the previous year. The BUSINESS TRAVELLER AWARDS are one of the most renowned surveys among frequent travelers and are based on the online vote of BUSINESS TRAVELLER readers – and thus on the opinion of over 2,300 business travelers who took part in the survey. When asked about the best car rental company in the three categories “Germany”, “Europe” and “worldwide”, the majority of respondents voted for SIXT in each case. But SIXT was not only honored by the German magazine. At the “Business Traveler North America Awards”, which were presented by the renowned US magazine Business Traveler, SIXT also took first place in the “Best Car Rental Company” category as the best car rental company in North America - for the second time in a row.

The Microlino is seen as a new interpretation of the BMW Isetta by the generation committed to electromobility. The revival of the iconic Isetta is to be used primarily in the context of urban mobility. the technology is designed for this. The Microlino is maneuverable, small and weather-protected and offers sufficient space for everyday errands. European production of the Microlino has been running since 2022 and there are currently more pre-orders for the smart city runabout than the manufacturer can deliver. The fascination of a grand hotel lies in the fact that it is not only a luxurious building, but also a symbol of a bygone era of travel. Like the Vienna State Opera House, the Hotel Sacher in Vienna has been an architectural and tourist gem of the city since 1876. Both buildings are located in close proximity in the first district. Everyone knows the legendary Hotel Sacher in Vienna, even if they have never been there. In the historic rooms of the former city palace you can still feel the elegance and spirit of the time. famous luxury hotel. The hotel is part of the Sacher Group, two private foundations owned by the Gürtler and Winkler families, who hold around 98 per cent of the shares. In addition, Alexandra Winkler and her brother Georg Gürtler directly hold just under two per cent. Their mother, Elisabeth Gürtler, 70, has turned the hotel, which was opened by Eduard Sacher in 1876, into a meeting place for the rich, powerful and beautiful. Today, the legendary former Sacher boss runs the Astoria holiday hotel in Seefeld, Tyrol. As with the Sixt family, the importance of family to the Sacher Hotels goes far beyond the name. Opened in 1876 by Eduard Sacher, the hotel has always been a meeting place for Vienna‘s rich, powerful and beautiful.

Klimt came and went here, as did Gustav Mahler, the Ephrussis, the Rothschilds and the Wittgensteins. The Sacher is a glamorous place, a hub for countless stories that began here or - like the fin de siècle era itself - ended here. The founder of Vienna’s Hotel Sacher died of pneumonia in 1892, aged just 49. His wife, who was 16 years younger than him, took over the management of the famous hotel next to the Vienna State Opera. Anna Sacher, the first woman to run a grand hotel, fought for three years to get the licence and took the hotel’s destiny into her own hands - with success. Within a year she doubled the turnover, introduced a ladies’ salon and did not behave in the way expected by the male-dominated society of the time. Anna Sacher, who smoked cigars in public, was not averse to alcohol and was always accompanied by her small bulldogs, did not remarry and died in 1930.

The Spanish Riding School in Vienna is the oldest equestrian institution in the world. For more than 430 years, the high school of classical horsemanship has been handed down from generation to generation.

The Spanish Riding School of Vienna is undoubtedly the most beautiful riding hall in the world. It is located in the Vienna Hofburg. Built in 1729, with lots of white Baroque stucco and huge chandeliers on the ceiling, it looks more like a ballroom than a riding hall. But this is where the noble steeds go to dance. The Spanish Riding School is on UNESCO’s list of intangible cultural heritage. But what is the fascination and myth of the trained white stallion that has become as much a part of Austrian identity as Sacher cake or the Viennese waltz?

The welfare of the horse is paramount, its talent and character are respected down to the smallest detail, and various gaits, changes of pace and jumps are practised during demonstrations. Through training, the natural movements of the Lipizzaner are translated into the precisely designed figures of the High School. The horses are trained by their riders almost every day. Fun fact: when a Lipizzaner stallion completes his training, he is given the title of Professor and is addressed as such by his trainers. During the gala performances, passages, piaffe, canter pirouettes and even school jumps are performed to classical music. The crowning finale - after the pas de deux, in which two horses dance in mirror image - is the school quadrille. The eight Lipizzan horses under their riders perform the ballet of the white stallions with dancing ease and maximum concentration. The movements, full of pride, power, precision

and expression, eyes alert, ears pricked, concentration total, it is a pleasure to watch horse and rider communicating with each other. The high school of horsemanship is something you simply have to experience. It shows that you don‘t have to be a horse lover to watch the morning‘s work.

commitment in Kenya KINAKONI - A VILLAGE AGAINST HUNGER

The village of Kinakoni is located 250 kilometres from the capital, Nairobi, in the southeast of Kenya. The entire region struggles with water scarcity, hunger and poverty. The lack of rainfall has worsened the situation for the villagers, and many children in Kinakoni, a village of 5,000 inhabitants, are suffering from malnutrition. Whereas droughts used to occur once a decade and last a few months, they are now so frequent and prolonged that nature has little time to recover between dry spells. In addition to these serious consequences

of climate change, the low level of education of the population, especially in rural areas of Kenya, continues to play a decisive role in hunger and poverty. The Regine Sixt Children’s Aid Foundation, together with the stern Foundation and Welthungerhilfe, has set itself the goal of helping to alleviate this situation - starting in the village of Kinakoni.

Education is at the centre of all efforts, as it is a crucial building block for the future of the children in Kinakoni. For this reason, the Regine Sixt Children’s Aid Foundation is

SULAMOT: MUSIC FOR SOCIAL CHANGE

In 18 Sulamot orchestras and a special program for blind children, over 1,000 children in disadvantaged regions of Israel learn to play an instrument. The aim of the Sulamot project is to make music together and to teach the children values through music that will help them grow. The children learn to work together in an ensemble, develop social skills and discover their individual talents. With the help of the Foundation, Muslim and Jewish children make music together in orchestras and learn values such as discipline, perseverance and cooperation with other children. The aim is to instil hope in their hearts through music and positive experiences. The Regine Sixt Children’s Aid Foundation has supported the Sulamot program in two schools in the country by purchasing several instruments.

The parent-child house of the Association for the Promotion of Children with Cancer Rostock e.V. is delighted to have a new water playground. The water garden is a place of fun, play and relaxation for children with cancer, their siblings and their families. The new facility is not only for the children with cancer, but also has a therapeutic effect. It develops their motor skills through play and gives them space to express their feelings. The Regine Sixt Children’s Aid Foundation wishes all the children a lot of fun with the water playground and hopes that it will help them to get through this difficult time.
