FROM THE HELM

All about the

BAIT!

ICAST- the world’s largest sport fishing show - once again lived up to the hype this year! It seems to get bigger and better every year and it was great to see so many SKA partners, SKA teams and tournament directors in Orlando. The show reported nearly 15,000 attendees and 2,000 booths. After a busy 2-day stop we continued on the Mercury Tournament Trail. In July, the first 50 pounder of the season came out of the Division 5 Ancient City tournament, caught by team ‘Out of Site.’ Even better, the team had just signed up for the SKA at the event! I hope they are hooked on tournament fishing- and welcome aboard! The SKA team continues to follow the tournament trail north as we inch closer to Nationals.

INTEL FROM THE TOURNAMENT TRAIL

W

hen a team lands a sizeable king one of the first questions everyone loves to ask is "What bait did you use?" (right after, “Where did you catch it?”). Many curious anglers also want to know how it was pulled in (on a downrigger, shotgun, prop wash, etc). Most of us are familiar with the logic of 'big bait catches big fish,' and the bigger the better. It’s hard to resist pulling a monster blue fish or massive blue runner hoping the big king will sink its teeth in and make your reel scream into high gear. Along the trail, I love to ask teams to share what they used and where they went to fish. Being an angler at heart sometimes it hurts to see everyone back in from a day on the water. Hearing your stories and getting intel is one way to ease fishing withdrawal. Here’s a peak at what I’ve learned so far from you guys. Lees Live Bait provides the best quality blue runners and goggle eyes to many tournaments in Florida. Numerous anglers are hard believers in these hardy bait fish and it’s easy to see why with the sheer number of tournament winning fish brought in on Lees bait. Pulling dead bait is a way to add variety to your spread. Ribbon fish are another go-to bait to have as reserve if the menhaden or other live bait just aren't around. In the Carolinas, the bluefish is a top choice but can be difficult to troll if the currents are aggressive. I have spoken with countless anglers who prefer to catch local bait in the area. Two ways to do this are dropping a multi-hook sabiki rig to the bottom to jig vertically or casting a diamond jig into schools on the surface or higher in the water column. Selecting artificial bait or teasers is another way to mix up the presentation in your spread. The addition of a Dave Workman Jr. Pro Series Pearl Duster Rig or Blue Water Candy Skirt adds flash and flutter to the bait. Everyone has a favorite color or one that just seems to produce in those clutch situations. Share your favorite bait choice or color combination with me next time we run into each other on the trail. I’m excited to see what kind of bait or combination will win the next tournament. Don’t forget to shake it up and try something new if your current go to bait isn’t pulling in the big kings! Until then, tight lines and see you at the scales.

J

ust before the end of the Vilano Beach Causeway sits the charming Camachee Cove Yacht Harbor and the perfect site for the recent Ancient City Gamefish Challenge. Tournament director Rick Mackey has been involved with the challenge for seven years, and he is very hands-on with the event. He arranged a visually exciting shotgun start with drone video coverage. More than 600 spectators showed up for the weigh-in at the Yacht Club Marina, and they enjoyed food, beverage and the chance to win from the many raffle prizes. The tournament supports three local charities, but the one closest to their heart is the Jerad Revels Scholarship Fund set up to honor the loss of an 18-year-old student, Pedro Menendez, killed in a tragic tractor accident. The Gamefish Challenge in St. Augustine spanned over three days, and the SKA sanctioned kingfish division of the tournament had over 100 boats participate, of which 50 were SKA members. The members brought results with wins of the 2nd overall heaviest fish, the overall win and 2nd place of the aggregate. Both kings of the overall win aggregate were reeled in by lady angler, Heather Way from team Second Chance.

LIVE WIRE FISHING TEAM’s Kevin and Tyler Weir with a 44.80 lb. king.

Back to the SKA Mercury Trail point lead, Captain Ryan Linsley from team Out of Site led the way with one of the only two kings caught over 50 pounds. The team’s king weighed in at 51.35, and that’s pretty exciting for a new member fishing its first SKA tournament.

his hat the next. Linsley told him, “Sometimes you have to give something to the ocean to get something back.” Linsley says, “I fell in love with king fishing the first time I fished with live bait in a tournament. Live bait and light tackle makes fishing fun.”

Linsley says, “We were starting to feel discouraged about our choice of spots after just catching barracudas and small kings.” Finally, on Sunday when they got the 51.35 on the hook, ironically the service buzzer went off on his Contender. He couldn’t reset during the fight, so a bit of chaos ensued. Nevertheless, they pulled the winning fish onboard.

The team loves the “never give up” philosophy. Linsley taught this to his eightyear-old son Gavin recently when they lost a 40-lb king and through perseverance later in the day got another chance with a catch. Linsley says, “Having skill in fishing is good. Having luck is better.”

Team member Adam Balboa lost his shirt one day and

Graphics. And special thanks to all their fellow Ponce Inlet Crews! A lady angler with some serious lady luck reeled in the 2nd largest SKA point fish, but also caught the second of the aggregate to bring home the overall win. Team Second Chance with Captain Lee Way Jr. won a sweet $10,000 purse with a 48.22 and a 40.07. Heather reeled both of these in somewhat innocently as the team didn’t tell her the size of the fish in hopes of keeping her calm. Heather says, “The fish kept diving, so we were worried a shark was after it, but I got it to the boat.” The fish were caught on Sunday afternoon. Captain Way said, “I got some information – some good information while

networking late Saturday night which led us to run 105 miles south.” They stopped in to see Kathleen earlier that morning and picked up so goggle eyes at Lee’s Live Bait. Good intel and good bait proved to be a good combination for this team and put some big cash in their pocket and some big points for their road to Nationals. Way says, “I’d rather be lucky, than good.” However, it seems that this 17-year SKA veteran has a bit of both. The team goal this year is to win Nationals. They want to thank sponsor Four Way Trucking and Sod. Another lady angler brought some mercury trail points to the table with the 3rd largest SKA king at 45.54. Team

Barbara Ann on a 33’ Onslow Bay only brought in one king, but it was a doozy and big enough to win SKA single fish third place. Captain Kevin Weir and his son Tyler on the Live Wire Fishing Team had an incredible weekend. Their accolades were many – 2nd place overall – 4th place SKA open class – and 1st place SKA small boat. This was achieved with a 44.80 and a 35.15 king. Their amazing day was on Saturday with both fish being in the boat by 9:30 that morning. With a smaller boat, they only ran about 40 miles out of St. Augustine, but that proved to be far enough. Weir said, “We caught the 44.8 on a ribbon fish on a down rigger that was set around 60-feet in the water.” The team relayed the “funny in retrospect story” that they missed the 44.8 on the first gaff. Of course,

frustrating at the time, they can relax and joke about it now. Tyler said, “When we got the second fish in the boat, we were all pumped up and yelling in excitement because we had two really good fish to weigh-in on the first day of the tournament.” When this team hits the water, they say, “Get your mind right” and “It’s all about the competition.” They also say, “Fishing is 100 percent skill and knowledge but catching a big fish is 100 percent luck.”

You catch lots of fish since the boats throw tons of bait in the water.

Do you have any superstitions or rituals that you follow before fishing a tournament?

JJ ] No, we're not really superstitious. Who is your role model?

JJ ] My role models are my mom and dad. Besides fishing, what else do you like to do?

JJ ] I like to go paddle boarding and just riding

in our boat. I also like to play with my friends at school.

What would you like to be when you grow up?

[ NAME ] Jace Jackson

JJ ] I think I'd like to be a police officer.

[ AGE ] 5

What did you enjoy most about the Nationals?

[ TEAM ] Team Tito's [ BOAT/ENGINE ] Venture / Mercury [ HOMETOWN ] North Palm Beach, FL

FRUSTRATED AMATEURS

Q&A When did you begin fishing? Growing up in the Florida Keys i began fishing at a very early age, I'd say around 4 or 5 years old. What type of fishing did you start with? I first started fishing around the canals and bridges close to my home. Catching snapper, bar jacks, grunts and others. Shrimp was my bait of choice back then and whatever was biting from shore i was chasing after. How did you hear about the SKA? I first heard about the SKA through a good friend of mine and fellow Contender team Captain, Floyd Miller. What prompted you to join the SKA? After seeing all the photos and watching many videos of Reel Anarchy and other teams such as Spiced Rum, Team Tuppens/Garmin, and Liquid Fire. I knew I wanted to join and get in on all the action. What do you like about tournament competition? I really love the fact that I tournament fish with my family and close friends. Watching my son enjoy this sport and get better and better at it is absolutely amazing. Getting to know the other teams and crews and the friendships we have made is also a great part of this journey. What is most challenging about tournament competition? I'd have to say the most challenging thing is just dialing in and being consistent on catching quality kings.

16

Angler No. 4 : 2017

Do you have any rituals or superstitions you use on the boat? We have a few, haha. Team angler, Damian Miranda always brings his lucky long sleeve shirt (he washes it). Another crazy thing is when the bite is slow Cali Reggae brings in the fish. We put on some Iration or Rebelution and the bite is sure to follow. What is a common misconception about tournament competition? A big misconception is that other teams are not friendly and will not steer you right if you need help or have questions. This is absolutely false. Everyone we have met have been the kindest of people and some have even become great friends. We started in 2015 having really no experience in the waters of Palm Beach where most of our Division 10 tournaments are. We asked around and everyone was willing to help us get dialed in and bring fish to the scales. What are your goals/dreams with regards to tournament competition? I'd have to say the obvious and that would be to win a National Championship. This year we as a team set a goal to finish 1st place in our Divisional Class. What do you do when you’re not competing? We're still out on the boat! When I'm not fishing a tournament or on the boat with the family I'm usually at my tree farms in Homestead. We also like to go to the bahamas, the kids love it over there. Tell us something most would be surprised to hear about you? Prior to joining the SKA I had never really went out and specifically targeted kingfish. Kingfish where more of a by-catch while we were on the reef edge pulling up groupers and muttons. I now love tournament kingfishing”!

veryone likes to show their friends pictures of the fish they caught. It’s only natural to want to share your experiences with other people and maybe along the way you can inspire someone new to take up the sport. Unfortunately when you put a camera in the hands of a lot of folks on a boat the results vary from mediocre to downright horrible. How many pictures have you seen with people holding fish with their faces black out by the bill of a cap on a sunny day? How about pictures with the subject holding a fish with their eyes were closed, or their head turned, or with a gaff handle right in front of their face? I can’t tell you how many potentially great pictures of jumping fish I’ve seen ruined by motion blur. You can avoid these common photographic mistakes photos with just a little knowledge and forethought so let’s get to it.

Know Your Camera The cameras in today’s high end smartphones take surprisingly good photos, but if you’re serious about taking great fishing pictures get a real camera. There are hundreds of reasonably priced digital cameras on the market that are capable of taking amazing pictures. You can opt for a quality “point-and-shoot” or step up to an enthusiast class digital SLR (single lens reflex) camera for greater flexibility and picture quality. My latest point and shoot is an Olympus Tough TG-4 that I use as a pocket-sized backup camera that I picked up for about $350. It’s a 16 megapixel model that supports JPG and Raw image files. It can be submerged for shooting fish in their natural environment and it even shoots video. What this little camera is capable of doing is actually beyond the most advanced professional digital cameras I used to own just 6 or 7 years ago. It has an extensive menu of simple to access specialized settings that provide optimal image quality for Portrait, Landscape, Underwater, Night, Action, Sunset, Macro and more. Or you can put the camera on Auto or Program modes for general photography and let it do all the work, although the results might not be as good as when you match the specialized modes to specific conditions. It’s rugged, and the little bugger takes pictures that sometimes rival the quality of my professional digital cameras that cost many thousands of dollars. Point-and-shoot cameras like the TG-4 are a good choice for someone who wants to take good pictures, but doesn’t want to get too deeply involved with photography.

Angler No. 4 : 2017

For more creative freedom I strongly suggest you look into purchasing an enthusiast level digital SLR from one of the more recognizable manufacturers of professional grade cameras. The thing I love about an SLR is when you look through the viewfinder you are actually looking through the camera’s lens, which is not the case with point-and-shoots where you frame your pictures on the LCD screen on the back of the camera. This feature provides a much more accurate representation of the image to be captured when you press the shutter release and you can keep your eye on your subject or the action you want to capture throughout the process. Enthusiast grade SLR cameras are scaled down versions of a manufacturer’s

top of the line pro equipment, and they are an amazing value. They are far more versatility, which is the key to creativity, because you can change the lens to meet shooting conditions. There is nothing like being able to shoot with a true wide angle lens in the tight confines of a boat, or switch to a telephoto zoom lens for shooting boat to boat pictures or wildlife shots like whales, birds, sea turtles or whatever might appear around the boat. While enthusiast digital SLR cameras and lenses are a greater investment than point-and-shoots, they sell for a fraction of the cost of the professional grade equipment from the same manufacturer while

benefiting from all the advances made in the high end gear, which filters down into the enthusiast line. Regardless of the camera you purchase the key to getting great pictures is learning its capabilities and how to apply them under various shooting scenarios. Unfortunately a lot of people will just set them to “Auto” or “Program” mode and let the camera’s internal computer pick general settings. The resulting pictures can be pretty good, but you’ll get a lot of mediocre pictures that are not representative of what the camera is really capable of capturing. To get the most from the camera you have to spend some time with

the owner’s manual or other instructional sources to learn the controls and setting. There are more comprehensive and easier to understand instructional books and videos available for most SLR cameras available online or at camera stores. When working with any of the aforementioned informational sources you should do so with the camera at hand and practice with it as you learn each nuance.

Setting the Scene Shooting great fishing pictures and the many scenes we encounter while on the water requires a little more than just knowing the basics of how your camera works. It requires a trained eye and some imagination to set a scene, whenever possible. By setting the scene you can make your pictures more visually appealing, more exciting. Let’s start with the obligatory fish picture or braggin’ shot. If the fish is being kept, you have plenty of time to set up a variety of shots of the subject with the fish so you can shoot it in a number of different ways until you get the ones you really like. If the fish is going to be released, your window of opportunity is greatly compressed so you have to be ready with camera in hand before it comes out of the water, set your scene, pose the subject and snap a few quick shots before the release. In other words be prepared before the fish comes over the side or better yet shoot some shots of it still in the water.

Lighting When staging braggin’ shots one of the most important things to consider is lighting. Whenever possible position the subject to make maximum use of the natural light and to establish if there is too much or not enough. Soft natural light in early morning or late afternoon makes for excellent pictures, but most of the time you don’t get to choose and you have to be ready to shoot when the opportunity for a good picture comes along. You have to be able to adjust to the conditions and do it quickly. As a general rule of thumb, try to keep the sun at your back when shooting. If the sun is high overhead or you are forced to shoot with it

behind the subject you’ll have to make adjustments for shadows or silhouetting, which occurs when the subject is in front of a brightly lit background. This is where the camera’s internal flash should be used to create fill light. The flash will light the subject and the fish and make them pop out from the background, enhancing the colors and contrast. A lot of problems encountered with low light and bright sunlight conditions can be alleviated by using the camera’s flash system. Another example is when the sun is high overhead causing the subjects face to fall into shadows. By using the flash you artificially brighten the shadow areas without over-exposing those areas benefiting from natural light. If you’re not sure if flash is the answer, take the shot with and without flash and compare them later.

Staging and Posing Think about how you want to stage your braggin’ shots. Now is the time to think about the background and possibly give some consideration to your sponsors by placing the subject with specific logos or items in the picture or in the background. Staging the shot gives you control of the final image and go a long way toward having happy sponsors when they see your images on your website or Facebook page. You should think about posing your subject like a portrait photographer. That means paying attention to facial expressions, coaxing a smile, removing sunglasses so their eyes are visible, even removing or adding a hat. Consider body angle, how the subject is holding the fish. The angle you shoot from can have a dramatically effect on the appearance of the fish in relationship to the person holding it. Try getting down on your knee or even sitting on the deck and shooting upwards at the subject. Have the subject point the fish at the camera in different ways for different looks.

Never hesitate to experiment by shooting the same shot in a variety of different ways, changing little things like how the image is cropped around the subject, the angle, the lighting. One of the greatest benefits of digital photography is once you have a shot in mind you can shoot it once or a hundred times without it costing a penny. It’s a far cry from the old days shooting with film cameras when there was a cost associated with every click of the shutter and you ultimately didn’t know if you got the shot until the film was developed.. Action shots are a different animal and require different camera settings. With a point-and-shoot or a lot of enthusiast SLR cameras there is a setting for “sports” photography or “action” photography. When selected the camera will set the shutter speed to stop motion, but if you get serious about it you can learn how to set up your camera for action manually. By switching to shutter priority mode and upping the shutter speed to 1000, 1250 or above (depending on available light) you can get super crisp pictures that will wow your friends. There’s nothing like great jumping fish shots and they can be yours with the right camera setting and a decent telephoto zoom lens. The telephoto zoom function on a good point-and-shoot camera can capture action photography, but be sure the camera does not have a delayed shutter reaction, especially when shooting action shots. A digital SLR has it all over most point and shoots in this department. Ditto for shooting wildlife shots where you have to have the focal length to reach out and the ability to stop action in its tracks. Having the right lens for distance work will allow you to take truly great photos. Taking great fishing shots isn’t difficult if you have decent equipment, know how it works and learn a few simply basics. It’s not too much different than fishing, really. And once you get good at it you’ll find yourself reaching for the camera more and more with each passing trip.

big, experienced kings. “I like more of a green water tone because it camouflages the tackle a little more.” Tournament types often refer to the optimal water appearance as “king green” — just the right mix of visibility with the coastal tint that puts these wily predators into hunt mode. Ideal, Mitchell said, is a outgoing tide pushing through an inlet and forming one of the most classic of kingfish scenarios — the tide line.

“Bait is number one; kings aren’t going to stay in an area if there’s not something for them to feed on,” said veteran kingfish pro, Capt. Ron Mitchell of Team Bandit. Indeed, big kings — the ones that win tournaments — like abundant food sources and, while some of their favored vittles have home body tendencies, many of the dietary staples are schooling forage species that tend to move around a lot. Anchoring and chumming may bring a few kings your way, but savvy anglers invest significant effort into dialing in specific target areas. Driving this quest is the understanding of king mackerel preferences.

FISHY WATER First objective is to target the right areas and water temperature is one of your key considerations. Generally, kings like warm water, finding something in the 68- to 75-degree range gets you into the right neighborhood. Water clarity plays an equally important role, but this one requires a little more consideration. In simplest terms, cleaner water presents a more baitfish-friendly environment than turbid areas, so we fall back on the king’s food-centered focus. However, Mitchell said it is possible to have too much of a good thing. “Off Southeast Florida, we often get that really blue water that gets pushed in from the Gulf Stream and sometimes that (high clarity) can be a hindrance,” he said of the notoriously wary nature common to

26

Angler No. 4 : 2017

With a frothy boundary distinguishing the convergence of water masses, tide lines inherently present a stained side and a clean side, often with baitfish gathered along the latter. “The kings will patrol these tide lines because they’re a good place to ambush bait as they come out of the dirty water and into the cleaner water,” Mitchell said. “It just holds life; you’ll often see birds working a tide line when a lot of bait is getting pushed out.” An often overlooked element that can quickly eliminate unproductive water is an altimetry chart, which indicates warm downwellings devoid of nutrients and cooler upwellings rich with life fuel. As upwellings reach warmer surface waters, flourishing phytoplankton (microscopic plants) and zooplankton (microscopic animals) attract thousands of baitfish — gatherings that do not go unnoticed by hungry kings.

THE RIGHT SPOT Targeted kingfish pursuits always occur over “hard bottom” — a generic term that encompasses live coral heads, natural and manmade reefs, rock piles, channel edges and ledges/drop-offs. Mitchell’s particularly fond of the latter, as they present travel lanes for those forage species kings target. Here and on any hard bottom site, Mitchell relies heavily on his twin Raymarine gS165 units, which allow him to monitor his chart plotter and the DownVision view that helps with target acquisition. “With the CHIRP technology, you get that superior separation and you know when you’re looking at kingfish,” he said. “You’ll see bait pods and you’ll see the kingfish feeding in there.

MAINTAINING A STE ADY COURSE IS CRITICAL , NOT ONLY FOR EFFEC TIVE BAIT PRESENTATION , BUT AL SO FOR SAFE AND HASSLE-FREE NAVIGATION AMID CR AB TR AP BUOY LINES (COMMON KINGFISH ZONES) AND THE OFTEN TIGHT QUARTERS OF POPUL AR REEF SITES DURING A KINGFISH TOURNAMENT.

For bait selection, know that kings will eat whatever they can catch, but those giant smokers like large meals. Mitchell’s top lineup includes big blue runners, bluefish, speedos (red tail scad), Spanish mackerel and big pilchards. Northern Gulf efforts might also find him netting the big pogies (menhaden) common to the Mississippi Delta region. “I like big baits because I know if it gets hit, it’s the one we want,” Mitchell said. With any of these options, troll your baits with wire leaders to repel the king’s formidable choppers and present each one with a stinger rig, comprising a lead hook set through the nose and a treble “stinger” linked to the lead with a 3- to 4-inch piece of wire.

“With the amount of detail you get from the DownVision view, it’s like a X-ray machine. You get so much definition of whatever you’re fishing. The phrase we all use is ‘You gotta have something there for something to be there.’” Essential to Mitchell’s hunt for productive bottom and the bait schools thereabouts is the Airmar Wide Beam CHIRP transducer, which scans with a constant 25-degree beam width. This enables him to scan the bottom while cruise across an area without yielding clarity. Increasing recon speed improves time management and helps him more quickly narrow his options. From an efficiency standpoint, as well as tracking where bites occur, Mitchell likes the ability to integrate Navionics mapping into his game plan. Studying each spot with

extensive detail sharpens his game by pointing out those key little areas where baitfish tend to cluster.

FIND ‘EM & FOOL ‘EM Slow trolling live baits is your best bet for the natural presentations that sell your ruse. A couple of “flat” lines, a long “shotgun” line, a short line in the prop wash and one or two downriggers probing the water column covers the bases. Strategy note: Maintaining a steady course is critical, not only for effective bait presentation, but also for safe and hassle-free navigation amid crab trap buoy lines (common kingfish zones) and the often tight quarters of popular reef sites during a kingfish tournament. This is where Mitchell finds Raymarine's Evolution Autopilot beneficial – especially in rough weather and heavily-trafficked fishing grounds.

Mitchell closes with a strategy point that exemplifies the immeasurable value of reliable electronics: “A lot of the wrecks and other hard bottom sites can hold a lot of barracudas, so if we see a large concentration of bait, we know the cudas will be there and we might want to stay off the spot a little bit,” he said. “A lot of times, you’ll go over a wreck and all of your baits will get cleaned up by cudas. “We know there are kings in the area, because they’ll also be there to feed, but they don’t get a chance because the cudas are so aggressive. We’ll look at the spot on our Downvision and see where we can move off the spot. Maybe it tapers off on one side, but there’s still bait on the outskirts, so we’ll fish around that area.” When it’s on, the kingfish game can be fast and furious — a straight-up, second-by-second thrill ride marked by fierce strikes and blistering runs. The big ones won’t make it easy on you; but find the right spot and you’ll enjoy plenty of chances.

nglers and their families gathered on a hot Georgia afternoon at Mud Cat Charlies. Tucked away on the Altamaha River, it has an authentic fish camp atmosphere and fresh seafood. If you ever make it to Mud Cat Charlies be sure to look for the ‘pet’ gators under the docks. The excitement was evident in the anglers to kick off the Division 4 season. Some shared stories of successful pre-fishing over the fried buffet provided by the event.

As teams came to the dock on Saturday, reports of sloppy conditions were confirmed by the forecast. Spectators who come every year and out of towners who happened to stumble on the weigh-in filled the docks as big kings continued to hit the scales. The first fish in was a 39.05 Captain Steve Greer Jr. and his team Team Empire/ Reel Dawg. They held the lead most of the day until Captain Randy Howell and team Hammer Time showed up with the 45.08 to take the lead and win the tournament! Jeff Baldree on the Hooked Again had a 38.06 for third followed by a slew of 35 pound fish from Flossy Fishing Team, Tall Tail, A Salt Weapon, and Hoodat. It was a great start to Division 4.

t was packed inside MarineMax of Jacksonville Beach for the Mercury Kingbuster 400 captains meeting. The event was a great way to kick off Division 5 of the Mercury Tournament Trail! There was a special Junior Angler tournament fished on Sunday after the general tournament on Saturday. 37 juniors weighed in fish and all were awarded prizes at the ceremony Sunday night. As the director, Don, loves to say “it's all about the kids’. The bite was tough during the SKA event and the seas were not cooperating either. Many teams made long runs to the south but came up empty handed. The first boat to the scales was Capt. BJ Morris of Live WIre. BJ scaled a beautiful 38 pounder that would hold first place until Greg Samuel and the King Pin rolled in with the 39.65 that would hold 1st for the rest of the day. The next largest fish was caught by Capt. Ronnie Worsham and the Trivial Pursuit, a 37.7 that did make King Pin sweat while it hung on the scale before the weight was announced. Top Jr Angler went to Jack Cressman from the Four Reel

Fishing Team. Top Lady to Brittany Crabtree on the Reel Asset fishing team. Congratulations and thanks to all who participated. We cannot wait to be back to this incredible event next year, and hope to see you there.
