OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT FISK UNIVERSITY
From the President Season’s Greetings from Fisk University. On behalf of Fisk University, we thank you for your continued support and advocacy in making 2021 a success. This year, we celebrated the Grammy Award-winning Jubilee Singers®' 150th Anniversary, increased enrollment, broke all fundraising records, and launched campus upgrades to include the
renovation of the former Race Relations House, The John W. Work House, and a new athletic field. We also broke
ground on the new Roland Parrish Center for Career Planning and Development. Once completed this spring, this
facility will become an innovation hub in which academic programs and business leaders will work together to create the professions of tomorrow. In addition, the University launched new degree programs such as a master’s degree program in Health Care Management and Executive Leadership, and undergraduate degree programs in
bioinformatics. Since its launch, the Master’s degree program in Health Care Management has become one of the fastest-growing programs at the University. We also saw a continued resurgence of student academic prowess as
three students were recognized as Rhodes Scholarship Finalists. Also, data has revealed that the average starting salary of recent graduates (those who graduated 3-5 years ago) was approximately $70,000. Undoubtedly, this is
among the highest salaries, for recent graduates, among HBCU and indeed colleges of all types. The period also saw the University formally launch the “John Lewis Social Justice Center” with Dr. Karida Brown as Director and the
largest enrollment of the W.E.B Dubois Honors program. As we look forward to the future, it is important to reflect and express gratitude to our students, faculty and staff, and the entire Fisk family for making this year a success. Thank you.
