Dear Future Fiskite! We are so excited to have you joining us, and our Fisk Family. Your hard work in high school has paid off and you are now following in the footsteps of famous scholars, leaders and world changers, who have paved the way for you and your success. Here at Fisk you will be challenged, and pushed to become the best version of yourself. At this University you will have the support of our incredible faculty, staff, and entire administration throughout your time here. Everyone here is thrilled to have you on campus, and share our passion for education and cultivating scholars. I understand this a transformational time for you, as you begin to leave behind your high school life behind and step into college. We want to make you feel as at home as possible here on campus, and orientation is the first step to making Fisk your home away from home. This weekend will be the perfect opportunity to get a feel for how transformative your next four years will be, you will get to meet some of your fellow Fiskites, professors and administrators all before the start of the semester. Founded in 1866, shortly after the end of the Civil War, Fisk University is a historically black university and is the oldest institution of higher learning in Nashville, Tennessee. Fisk’s outstanding faculty and students continue to enhance the University’s national reputation for academic excellence, which is validated year after year by leading third-party reviewers, as well as, by the pool of talented applicants, and the large percentage of alumni who complete graduate or professional degrees and become leaders and scholars in their fields.

What is P.A.W.S. P.A.W.S. marks the beginning of your college experience at Fisk! During the registration program, you'll have the opportunity to: Meet with an advisor to map out your academic strategy and select fall classes. Advising and registration for Fall classes will be available for high school seniors that have been accepted to the university, have paid the Admission Fee, and have completed the FAFSA. Meet Fisk faculty and staff. Meet new and current students. Attend sessions and meet with staff from campus offices such as financial aid, housing, campus safety, and various student support services. Tour the campus. Find answers to your questions about being a student at Fisk.

Orientation is mandatory for all new students Students eligible to attend P.A.W.S. Orientation, will incur an orientation fee, regardless of attendance. The orientation fee for new students is reflected on the tuition bill for the upcoming semester. The orientation guest fee cannot be placed on the student’s account.
