MESSAGE FROM EXERCISE NEW ZEALAND
One of the best things about large conferences is multiple streams running at the same time. This gives attendees the opportunity to pick sessions and topics that interest them, and provides them with the most value. Attendees can also pick & choose sessions to provide their own variety on both subject material and presenters. This year we have focused on ensuring that the broad variety of topics and presenters continues to deliver for the increasingly diverse exercise industry that we serve - everyone from Yoga teachers and wellness coaches to PTs and step instructors, as well as a whole new focus on those that work in the industry, but not in exercise roles - so sessions for salespeople through to club managers. Within each of the roles mentioned, we also realise there is huge diversity in interests and needs, so topics range from the latest in research into exercise (and the trends that come with that) through to the business tools needed to be a success in the 21st century, balanced off with the latest in mind-body it’s all here @ FitEx 2016. We are also very excited to be launching a number of new initiatives, including the Women in Leadership Luncheon, where the line up of inspirational women in our industry is in itself a testament to the amazing industry we work in. We’re also pleased to ‘return home’ and be able to offer on-site accommodation at the AUT Student Village again this year (something that wasn’t possible in the last two years), which will be great news for those from out of Auckland. Looking forward to catching up with our regulars, as well as welcoming those new to FitEx 2016!

Is your website just an online “brochure” that gets few visitors? Do you write great articles that nobody reads? Have you written a post that never gets any first page Google love? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this workshop is for you. Think of your website as a loyal employee that works for your 24/7. But if you’re doing it wrong, then it’s just asleep at the wheel. In this workshop, we’ll go over website foundations and put the infrastructure in place to help give you the edge you desire. To get the most out of this workshop, bring your laptop with login access to your WordPress website. Social media pulls us away from face-to-face connection, but we are hard-wired to be in relationship with one another. The relationships you form with your clients, members, staff and colleagues can be powerful platforms for change. Did you know that showing kindness and empathy to others are keys to improved health and happiness? Did you realise that research proves that being compassionate towards others can protect against disease and increase lifespan?

90 Akoranga Drive Northcote, Auckland
RENTAL CARS: We suggest booking with Thrifty. If you use the rate code ‘metro’ when booking they offer a car at $69 with no airport fee and 150km included each day, with a low $345 insurance excess. SHUTTLES FROM THE AIRPORT: Shuttles operate 24 hours a day. They have a range Of prices and are often cheaper when sharing with others. This is a great option if you are coming as a group. Supershuttle 0800 748 885 | www.supershuttle.co.nz PUBLIC TRANSPORT: There is an Airbus which runs every 15 minutes and is $16 one way or $28 return. Then catch a local bus to the venue/accommodation. TAXIS: We do not suggest using taxis. The fare can be over $200 depending on traffic so would strongly advise against this option. PARKING: Parking is available onsite. Information on parking will be sent to attendees before the event.
