SALVATORE ARCARESE Born in 1994 in the Italian province of San Cataldo, Salvatore Arcarese moved with his family to Romania when he was just one month old. Raised in Bucharest, the young Renault Clio EuroCup driver is proud to race for Romania even if his ties with Italy are still strong: “I have relatives in Italy and I speak the language, but my life is in Romania and I am very glad to be able to race for my country at such a high level� said Salvatore in a recent interview.
RACING CAREER Salvatore started racing at the age of 12. He took up karting and finished as a runner-up in the KZ2 class of the Romanian Karting Championship in 2009. The next season he won the title in the sam class and made his first Renault Clio Cup test. In 2011 Salvatore raced in selected rounds of the Italian Renault Clio Cup and in the Renault Clio EuroCup. In 2012 Salvatore continued in the Italian Clio Cup and in the Clio EuroCup, but also started racing in the Spanish Renault Clio Cup, where he managed his first two wins: in Valencia and in Albacete. These two results, together with the second place in the Paul Ricard EuroCup race are the best results of a Romanian driver in Circuit racing in the modern times. Salvatore Arcarese was crowned Champion of the Juniors’ classification in the Spanish Renault Clio Cup.
THE RENAULT CLIO CUP After the fading of the Seat Leon EuroCopa championship, the Renault Clio Cup became the most intense championship for touring car drivers all over Europe. Part of the famous World Series by Renault championship, the Clio EuroCup has more than 30 drivers at the start. Everybody races the same car, with the same power and electronics. The difference is made by the driver and by the slight setup adjustments.
After finishing 2nd and 3rd in the Italian Renault Clio Cup race from Austria in 2011, in 2012 Salvatore Arcarese managed to obtain his first two victories. The first took place at the old Albacete racetrack and the second on the famous Ricardo Tormo track from Valencia.
THE 2013 SEASON Renault have decided to give a bigger importance to the Renault Clio EuroCup. Thus, in 2013 the championship will have six double rounds instead of four and will feature the new Renault Clio RS, with a 1.6 turbo engine, more power and a paddle style automatic gearbox. The championship will still be covered by the Eurospor pan-European channel and will be broadcasted in Romania by DigiSport TV, the same network whichs broadcasts Formula 1 and MotoGP
CAREER HIGHS IN 2012 In 2012 Salvatore Arcarese raced in three championships: The Italian Renault Clio Cup, the Spanish Renault Clio Cup and the Renault Clio EuroCup. In all three, he managed exciting races, always fighting for the first places. MEDIA ACTIVITY During the 2012 season, Salvatore Arcarese appeared in the printed media, as well as on TV and online. The appearances were noted in the monitoring report, which also gives important information regarding the advertising value, as well as the importance of the appearances. Appart from appearing in the media, Salvatore Arcarese was also invited to give his specialist feedback in the GP2, GP3, Formula 3 and GT Open races as a commentator for DigiSport.
Race Gear Salvatore Arcarese races with the famous Rangoni Motorsport Team. His racesuit, helmet and gear are eligible for branding and for the partners’ logos. Salvatore will wear the logos also in his off the track media appearances.
Media appearances The Renault Clio EuroCup races will be shown on Romania’s most important TV sports station, DigiSport. All the races will be fully covered and news about Salvatore will be also broadcasted. Salvatore will also be invited to commentate some races on TV, as he has done in 2012.
