THE COLLECTION The evolution of Anke Loh’s fall 2010 collection reflects a new environment––one that embodies sharp contrasts between the conventions of material language and form. The uncomplicated shapes of the knit garments create a foundation that showcases the process of unique knit construction. Anke Loh “applies” a print (created by photographing optical fibre dresses in movement and light) by integrating it into the fabric construction itself– –resulting in a complex textural depth that goes well beyond surface treatment. The woven garments are inspired by urban architecture and paper-folding techniques. The inventive elements of material manipulation and high-contrast combinations of knit and woven fabrications represent the diversity and texture of urban life while providing forward ready to wear clothes.
