Editorial

These warm and cosy days are my favourite. The jolly atmosphere, the myriads of food and warmth of the people you love. It’s also wonderful to see the collaboration between the different elements allowing us to pass on the warmth to consumers with this month’s collections. Cover November – December

To me, this is perhaps the best thing about these months: the warmth and solidarity has returned and is visible in the shops and streets. People are in a far better mood and take more time for each other. That’s why I would love to know, who do you embrace even more this time of year? Love,

The Umami customer is an explorer, connoisseur and in keeping with that, crazy about novelties. Germini Queeni Keoni is an exclusive beauty suiting the shade Frosty Sun from the Umami colour palette. Its lemon petals simply radiate! Keep an eye on the app and be the first to get some when they become available from the grower.

PLANTS OF

Umami opts for green this Christmas! The package swears by ton sur ton this season. As nature outside is preparing for winter and has shed most of its colour, we are getting our dose of green from pots and green plants at home. And they are here to stay even after the Holidays!

November is marked with many special occasions, everyone seems to be busy. In Europe, the nights are long, dark and cold. Phrases, such as friendly, together, warmth and light are enveloping us. Has your shop copied this feeling yet? Make it a place that embraces people and where they can escape from the inclement weather. Your arrangements work together to bring visitors a welcomed feeling of tranquility.

Casis

Cassis is one of the trending colours for 2020 and already showing in many of the flowers this season. Purple symbolises modesty, which is a great quality especially during the busy times. Bring some modesty in the shop with a few purple eye-catchers. Want to know more about 2020? Ask for Flynt’s Guide, send an email to info@flowertales.com.

PLANTS OF

Pure Solas is touched with a hint of French elegance this Christmas. This feeling is even more enhanced by the flowering plants, such as these wintry Schlumbergera, Rhodondendron, Phalaenopsis and Amaryllis. Have you noticed the orchid? Phalaenopsis Soft Cloud has a mind of its own and grows as it pleases.

The combination of flowers is distinctive just like the Pure Solas consumer is distinctive. Classic Christmas products, such as Skimmia and Cape Greens are mixed with dark grey and silver sprayed gypsophila. The pure white of the cotton and Amaryllis are keeping the overall design fresh.

GLANCES OF GLAMOUR

An elegant Christmas demands a stylish rose mix. Glances of Glamour contains, in addition to the classic red and white varieties, purple and pink tones giving your designs that extra tinge of glamour and festiveness.

Not every country celebrates Christmas in the cold. Warm, African colours and patterns suit the Urban Tane collection. You also see it the selection of plants: at least three varieties of Echeveria are adorning this package. The natural red makes just as strong a statement as its dyed peers! The berries from the Ardisia look as if they are in charge of the rhythm and even the Amaryllis is all up for animal prints.

MORE DECEMBER ‘19 As the last month of the year, December has always been an enigma of closure and new ideas. A lot is possible, a lot must be done and to you it means working the extra hours to get all your customers’ arrangements and wreaths ready and delivered to them. Take time to write down ideas for the new year and work them out when the quietness has returned.

31 New Year’s Eve

DIY The Umami consumer wants to be wowed and loves extraordinary techniques. As soon as this customer needs to look twice how a bouquet is made, he/she is hooked. For the frame of the bouquet we used a weaving technique. And have you noticed how the peacock feather ties the green tones and the brown of the chicken wire together? Floral Designer Tiffany explains how she created this unique bouquet step by step.

MATERIALS Hexanet 5cm 5m brown Bobble 8mm 15m green Dianthus Barbatus Green Trick or Green Wicky Chrysanthemum Code Green Molucella Laevis Peacock feathers

1 Start with a piece of chicken wire, the brown variety in this case. Cut the chicken wire at the desired size.

2 Weave the wool or rope through the chicken wire so that it’s hardly visible. 3 Now you can shape the wire into a circle and a half, as if the wire is embracing the bouquet.

4 I started with the Santini and Dianthus to create a sturdy and voluminous

base. Other products are also suitable to create the same effect of course. Then, I added the Molucella and the peacock feathers to make it more exciting.

5 Tie the bouquet – posy style – with the same wool or rope that was used on the frame for a finished look.

Large opposites are also seen in the shapes and textures of the flowers and foliage, such as the fine Baby Blue against the rustic features of Monstera leaves. And have you spotted the Rhodos yet? This rose is especially suitable for this package, thanks to its sturdy stem and long vaselife!
