Florentin Smarandache Since in many situations the experts are not able to find (exact) crisp numbers in [0, 1] that represent the neutrosophic components T, I, F, they approximate these components by intervals that comprise the real values of T, I, and F respectively. Mohamed Abdel-Basset The authors mentioned interval-valued neutrosophic scale for representing pair-wise comparisons in Table 1. According to Table 1, for linguistic term 'Evenly important', the interval-valued neutrosophic number is ([0.5, 0.5], [0.5, 0.5], [0.5, 0.5]), while ([0.4, 0.5], [0.1, 0.2], [0.2, 0.3]) to 'Low important'. Why? Florentin Smarandache "Evenly important" since in (0.5, 0.5, 0.5) each component 0.5 = [0.5, 0.5] is just in the middle of the interval [0, 1], so no component makes any distinction between important (1) and unimportant (0). For values less than 0.5 one has "Low important", since the intervals [0.4, 0.5], [0.1, 0.2], [0.2, 0.3] are in the first half of [0, 1], i.e. they are included in [0, 0.5].
