REGINA
It is an early summer morning. A pretty girl named Regina is carrying breakfast to the mowers. The sun is shining on a dusty road. Regina is walking fast with a basket on her head. Suddenly, she sees a tall, young man walking towards her. It is George.
Regina likes him a lot, but she doesn’t want him to know. She stands up straight and looks upon him, but then, the basket with food falls from her head. A bowl full of soup rolls off into the drain. There is a struddle under the bowl and macaroni spread in the middle of the dusty and dirty road.
Regina wraps her scarf around her waist and tightens it hard. She runs through the gardens to see George’s mother. ”Regina, sweet little Regina, what’s the matter? Why are you so scared?“ – asks George’s mother. “Oh, my God, I’m so poor and sad. I’ve just fallen on the bridge and my food basket rolled down. Breakfast for the mowers is totally ruined. George says you can help me.“ – said Regina sadly.
George’s mum has just baked the roasted pork, so breakfast is no trouble for her. The clock on the wall strikes seven. Regina is merrily helping George’s mother to prepare and pack breakfast. Suddenly, a policeman comes into the kitchen. It is Stephen, the local policeman and a friend. Surprised by what he sees, he asks George’s mum. ˝Have you had a wedding? Is this your daughter – in – law ?˝ Should we explain to him what really happened? Let it just stay asit is, and let Regina betheir daughter – in – law.
