umor has it that the NFL lockout might be ending in time for us fans to enjoy a full season. If there is any truth to the rumor I am ecstatic. I love football and honestly since the lockout started just realized that I don’t think I could ever live without it. There is nothing like the sound of a hard hit or the look of a nice booty in those uniform tights. If there was no lockout NFL rookies would have participated in team OTAs by now and getting ready for training camp. In order to prepare rookies for the pending season there may need to be OTA’s as soon as the lockout is lifted. Honestly I don’t really care about the particulars just as long as I get to watch some good old American football. For those of you who don’t know the lockout came about when team owners and players couldn’t agree on the new CBA (collective bargaining agreement). Basically the owners felt they were entitled to more than a billion dollars and the players felt as though they were more entitled than the owners. Whatever they decide I hope it is soon because the fans deserve a full season. While I have been waiting on the NFL to stop playing with our emotions and get back on the field I have been able to fill my sports void with the Women’s World Cup. That’s right, Soccer is back! As a former soccer player myself I love the Women’s World Cup. Unlike the United States Men’s team the USA women actually have a decent chance of winning and along with Brazil is the team favored to win it all. In a recent tough loss, a first in the tournament, the USA women lost to Sweden, forcing them to play Brazil in the quarterfinals. This is a huge game to say the least. I predict that it will be a fight until the very last second. Brazil is tough and often plays dirty but team USA is ready, don’t let all the blond hair and blue eyes fool you; those women are just as tough. As I watch the USA work their way towards victory I will also be keeping my ear glued to ESPN and all
by Tahira Bellot the latest on the NBA lockout. Some of you non basketball fans may not care, but as a resident of Central Florida you should. Orlando is the host of the 2012 NBA All-Star game. This could be affected if the NBA doesn’t play a full season. For the slow people, it’s a domino effect, no season, no All-Star game, no extra revenue into the city. No need to panic yet though. As of press time the NBA lockout had only been in effect for a week. Similarly to the NFL it is time for the NBA to renew its CBA as well. In this league the owners are determined to make it fair for the owners USA Women’s Soccer Team of smaller city franchises. For example, the owner of the Milwaukie Bucks doesn’t have the same opportunity to generate as high revenue as say the owner of the Boston Celtics. This is based on the fact that Superstar players don’t generally play for smaller teams. Those owners would like a chance to compete not only financially but also on the court. If Boston, Miami and LA can have two to three franchise players on one team and Memphis, Milwaukie and others of the like don’t, then they won’t ever be on a fair and equal playing field. That amongst the discrepancy of guarantee contracts for players who sometimes don’t even play in one game and a few other issues is what is potentially keeping the fans from missing part if not the entire 2011-2012 NBA season. Much like my opinion on the NFL I just want the NBA to reach an agreement and do so as quickly as possible.
IN THE HUDDLE This huddle is for the groupies. Be smart about the athletes you choose to chase. If he plays football be careful, their money isn’t guaranteed and if they aren’t good savers or investors and they ball out of control in the clubs then you won’t be able to come up off of him. Find the athlete who is sitting at home saving his money waiting on the lockout to get lifted. www.flyerpromonow.com

C-NOTE$ Take Notes
appy 4th of July Orlando! It is in the spirit of freedom and strength to overcome, that I introduce you to an artist that has blessed the “City Beautiful” with a unique flow. Born and raised in New Orleans, CNote$, discovered a love for music at a young age. It was his exposure to Cash Money Crew that gave him an early passion for Rap and an introduction to the music business that most artists wish they had. It was with great anticipation that C-Note$ dropped his freshman debut mix tape “Take Notes” on June 1st. AND Yes, Orlando – you heard him right, TAKE NOTES! And so I did… by Kris Kinville of TalkofOrlando.com
H
ow long have you been in Orlando, Fl?
7 months - I love Orlando. Everyone is very motivated to achieve their goals. It’s a very positive vibe. I especially love all the beautiful women it has to offer. (Laughs)

ot being from here, did you get a positive or negative reception from Orlando artists/crowd?
It was definitely positive. I was in a cipher a few weeks ago and got showed a lot of love. I haven’t had a lot of negativity, but I wasn’t expecting the quick embrace that I got. There was an immediate welcoming acceptance of my style. It was great! ow long have you been in music?
I’ve honestly been around it since I was 4yrs traveling with Cash Money Crew on tours. But I started free styling at 14yrs. I didn’t start taking it serious until like 2yrs ago when I actually recorded something. ou are from New Orleans – Music is an important part of that city’s culture. Do you feel it had an influence on your music style?
I most recently did incorporate it with a track on the mix tape called “Life of a Boss”. I try not to make it obvious. It’s subtle. Someone who is familiar with the New Orleans culture & style of music would hear it but maybe not someone who isn’t familiar.
W
hat was it like going back to New Orleans after the Katrina? I traveled around to several cities for a while before I went back. Everything looked different. It was a different place afterwards. There was so much damage to homes, the people, businesses, and my stopping grounds that it was hard to recognize at first but then the spirit of the city started to show through the people that returned to rebuild. It was hard but it was necessary to return…
D
o you consider yourself a “Southern artist”?
I consider myself a mix. Yes southern artists have had the most influence on me because of the way I grew up, but I also looked to artists like Biggie, Puffy and Nas from the Northeast, to really understand how to get into and work “the game”.
hat’s your biggest pet peeve of the industry?
Lack of originality!! Too many artists sound alike! Way too many artists take a “popular style” and then try to make it their own instead of bringing themselves to the game. They will hear what’s hot in the club and think I can do that… Just because it has a good beat or hook doesn’t mean you’re saying anything of importance. hen you’re not working on your music, what are you doing?
Thinking about making new music! (Laughs) I eat, sleep and sh*t music! If I’m not at the studio, I’m at home making beats and writing. I’d rather focus on my music and my money than being out all the time. hat is on your IPod or MP3?
I listen to Rick Ross, Wayne, Byrd Man, Soldier Slim, and Mac from New Orleans, Little Boosie, Big Al, Nas, Pac and of defiantly Biggie.
W
hat can Orlando expect from you in the future?
Everyone can expect another mix tape in the fall, possibly October & it’s going to be even harder than the 1st – harder beats, harder lyrics, harder producing! And of course more shows. The five-year plan is to be On TOP of the RAP GAME! (Laughs) Seriously, I also would like to learn more about & do more producing. I’d like to have my own label potentially.
Shout Outs: LondonondaTrack, much love!!! You really did your thing on the mix tape! TalkofOrlando.com for showing me love with this opportunity. All my family & my music family in New Orleans, DJ CEO, DJ DEV, I appreciate everybody that has supported me along the way…there is just too many mention…
W
hat has your biggest moment as an artist so far?
I don’t think I have had it yet. This first mix tape is a big moment and your first is always special but nothing has lived up to my imagination…YET. I feel like my biggest moments are yet to come…. (Laughs)
W
hat was your vision for the mix tape “Take Notes”?
Everyone calls me Notes, from when I was little and started rapping. I am from all over New Orleans and that’s what everyone called me – so “Take Notes” was a natural progression. The statement “Take Notes” can say a lot of things like “take notes on how to produce & rap” (laughs). We dropped it on Powerhouse Orlando.com and I collaborated with Rich Kid Shawty, Tasha Catour, DJ CEO, DJ DEV, and Producer LondonondaTrack. Where else can Orlando check you out? I will be performing a couple of times over the next few weeks @ Club Chocolate. www.flyerpromonow.com

across the nation on Wednesday July 6th 2011 at 2:15 pm first time trial watchers and those who have been following every step of the way, tuned in to watch the verdict of the Casey Anthony trial. As the verdict was being read I immediately got ready for them to fire up ole sparky…..”NOT GUILTY” on all counts except lying to the damn police? WTF! When we as people lie we are more than likely doing it to cover something up we’ve done, and in this case in my opinion it was murder.
Honestly I’m totally disappointed in the outcome of this case, but must say it was well played by the defense. The Defense drug this case out just long enough for the jury to obviously not care anymore and were simply ready to get back to their real lives. I think George said it best when he was on the stand “One plus one equals two.” From the mounds and mounds of CSI type of evidence piled against her it seems as though even if we don’t have a facebook picture of her placing the tape over Caylee’s mouth, she still shouldn’t walk away with a mere slap on the wrist. But what I learned from the O.J. case which has been compared to this one is that karma is a bitch. You may get away with murder but sooner or later it will catch up to you. In conclusion all I can say is R.I.P Caylee.
BURGA Tell me a little bit about yourself …. My name is Antonio Gordon (Burga) Born and Raised in Melbourne, Florida... I am self motivated, I’m bout my money …Most importantly I love to make music it’s my way of sharing my thoughts since I don’t like to talk a lot.. Where does your Stage name come from? Originally my stage name was Iceburg Tony but my cousin started calling me Burga and it stuck with me so now everybody just call me Burga What motivated you to do music? My oldest brother K-low motivated me before I even knew how to rap I always used to listen to him rap and it inspired me to make music. What sets rappers?

RICKY PADILLA
Give me a little of your background. How did you get into the music business?
What are the current projects that you are working on and what makes them special?
Well back in high school I always had the radio on, no matter what I did, there was a radio on by my side. Eventually I got a scholarship for baseball and decided I wanted to be a P.E Teacher. I loved sports so much that I figured that it was the ideal job until I found out what they got paid. Then it was time to search for something new. I applied at a station here in Orlando, dropped my resume off numerous times and finally got hired. Once I got my foot in the door I was checking out the movers and shakers. I started off driving the vans, then ended up part time on air, that lead to full time over night position, then I got moved to nights. I fulfilled all my contract agreements with them and we parted ways. I Guess after that happened back in January there was a change of heart on their behalf (previous station). I was asked if I would consider coming back, declined their offer and I took a new position at Power 95.3. Been there for a couple of months now and I love it. Sooo YEAH!!! Tell a friend Ricky Padilla flipped the switch to the NEW POWER 95.3!!
A Couple of things; 1. I’m trying to get back on TV, I was on Fox 35 for like a year and some change until I tore my Achilles tendon twice last year. I was in and out of surgery, which didn’t really allow me to walk for almost 10 months. I was on a scooter or crutches for most of the year. Now that I am good to walk I been working on my TV reel, waiting to see if I get picked up. 2. I’m going to Africa for two wks. My partner and I got invited to do like a DJ tour in Africa. I have never really been out of the US like that before so I have been non-stop studying on Africa’s culture. Should be very exciting!!
If music wasn’t an option, what would you do and why? Running or even owning a night club here in Orlando. (Don’t count me out yet) I feel like I have learned pretty much everything that has to do with the promotion game. Now it is time to take what I know and apply it!!!
ANY SHOUT OUTS? Yeah, Big shout out to all my biz partners Johnny M., Valdamar C., Tony Khuu, John Kocky, all the bartenders that work my events and my new POWER 95.3 FAM!!

Lol! Competition? Hmm honestly the one thing that I’m proud of is that I paved my own lane. When you do that you have less chance of competing against someone. For instance when you compete, there always ends up a winner and a loser. If you’re paving your own way then there really isn’t anyone that’s your direct “competition” per say, nobody is doing what you’re doing but you. Don’t get me wrong, there is still the possibility of losing, but it is not to someone. If you go to some of the parties I do, you can see that I stay away from the norm. Wednesday night at club 23 we play house, hip-hop, reggae, a little Spanish music. It is very diverse and unique that it is a smash every wed. Pillow talk every last Sunday of the month is another example. It is an R&B event that has not really been done in Orlando and now it is sold out every month! Senso on Sunday we give away all kind of free prizes, this past Sunday we gave away a pair of $400.00 Beats by Dre headphones. Nobody is really doing all that so I’m sitting in a good spot.
People that want to see me fail. I will never let that happen. (Waves to them) Thank you guys for keeping me motivated!!
Po
Who would you say is your biggest competition and why?
What is the driving force behind what you do?

Club Texting cAN i kICK it.... You were told to take off your clothes not your leg.
I’m not saying who was DJ’ing but LAX was wack and you can tell. Only in 2011 do we get dressed up to go to the club and text. Look like this promoter wasn’t on top of his game. SMH.
Worst Dressed A woven yarn dresses are not, and never will be in style. Sorry boo boo you look like a cab drivers car seat.
Upgrade your day care. The kid on the left seems to have women issues, but lil man on the right is enjoying the show with a fine glass of juicy juice. Guess they don’t make baby sitters like they used to.
Best Dressed School Girl was the theme for this party. Best of all was this simple number. Good job shorty. www.flyerpromonow.com

Obama Watch By Roger Caldwell
President Obama gets tough on Republicans concerning Debt Limit
L
ast week President Obama decided to take his battle with the Republicans to the street and the public. He held a press conference and he sharply chastised Republicans as supporting tax breaks for jet-setting corporate executives, at the expense of college scholarships or medical research. The president also criticized members of the Republicans of not being prepared with their facts on the debt ceiling, and more concerned with taking a vacation. This press conference did not sit well with the Republicans and they immediately began to fire back at the president. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell called on Obama to drop what he’s doing and come to the Capitol for a meeting. Representative Raul Labrador said, “House Republicans acted, and now we await your spending reduction plan – perhaps not with open arms, but we have open minds.” The Democrats and the Republicans have been debating for the last month over raising the nation’s borrowing limit. Both parties agree that in order for the country to continue to pay its bills, it is necessary to raise the debt ceiling. Since 2001 the credit limit has been raised 10 times, so every time the lawmakers vote for spending hikes essentially they have raised the ceiling. Nevertheless, it is necessary to formally vote on the size of the increase, and some lawmakers want a bigger increase and others want a smaller increase. The first limit was set in 1917 at $11.5 billion, and the current debt limit is set at $14.2 trillion. The country’s accrued debt hit that number on May 16, 2011. Either party or the president is not happy with our country being $14.2 trillion in debt, and the president at his news conference laid out his reason why it is necessary to raise the debt limit. “These are bills that Congress ran up,” Obama said, in explaining why the

U.S. must not default on its debt obligations. “They took the vacation. They bought the car. Now they’re saying, maybe we don’t have to pay.” Treasury Secretary Geithner has set the date August 2, 2011 as the day when the debt limit must be raised for the country to continue to pay its bills. At this moment both parties are busy playing politics, but at some time soon every one will have to agree. Politics is a nerve racking business and our lawmakers tend to wait till the last days to strike a compromise. Following President Obama’s press conference, White House Chief of Staff Bill Daley had strong words for the Republicans. Many political pundits and experts are concerned with the bluntness of the Obama’s administration and are afraid that their tough position will drive the two sides further apart. Bill Daley said, “I find that at times people who continually attack the president, beat him up on not only on policy, personality, and a whole bunch of things. The minute he takes a tone that is a little more direct, and it was not personal. It was direct in that the leaders of Congress in both parties and especially those who are saying that revenue are off the table period in trying to solve this problem, that somehow that’s going to hurt feelings of people. This is not a time to worry about feelings; this is a time to get results.” Maybe the president is now putting on his boxing gloves, and he is going toe to toe with the Republican Party. It is too early to make that assumption, but in his last news conference, the president was aggressive and assertive. The president was elected to lead and sometime to lead, it is necessary to hurt feelings to get the job done.

Does Size Matter? These days everything is supersized, cars, jobs, meals, bank accounts and the list goes on. So I don’t blame a dude for wondering if the same rules apply to their “package” when it comes to satisfying their woman. Is bigger always better? This is the age old question that has yet to be answered definitively. I’m going to take a shot at offering up my two cents. Size does matter fellas! No woman wants a man who will struggle to please her, simply because their equipment isn’t “heavy duty” enough to handle the job. I mean size is already half the battle. If your package is big to begin with, then you have less work cut out for you in the end. Little penis dudes just have to work too hard. I can see ya’ll now, panting and sweating trying your hardest to make your “little bit” work and not actually accomplishing a damn thing except a whole lot of frustration for your girl. That’s right, I said frustration! Small dicks piss women off! That why us women have developed a little “test” to see if you package is gonna cut it We don’t want to waste the time getting excited, if there isn’t gonna be a payoff in the end. This is what we do: We brush up against you with our hands or butt, and for your sake, you better hope we feel something impressive, because that’s the deciding factor in whether or not you’ll be getting any!
Now for all you “little guys” out there, all is not lost. If you have discovered that what you have to work with just ain’t enough for any grown woman. Then get to spending your money and giving head. That’s right I said it! The harsh reality is that your pockets and your tongue will be the only thing keeping her around. If she told you otherwise, she’s lying. Oh, and she’s probably fantasizing about the other dude while you’re inside of her, I’m just saying. Listen fellas, I’m not out to hurt feelings or step on toes, I’m just being more honest with you than your girl will ever be. Now , to all the Big Dicks out there, this is not an invitation to go shoving it anywhere it will fit. Use your gift wisely. I’ve learned that the only thing worse than little dicks are worn out ones. And to the Little Dicks of the world, don’t go being hasty and dumping your girlfriends. If your lady has chosen to accept your inadequacies, and love you anyway. Then she deserves all of the money and head you can give her.

STD
MYTHS You can catch an STD from getting a tattoo? The answer is yes. You’re mildly susceptible to catching HIV, Hepatitis B and Hepatis C since they are the three STD’s that can be contracted through contact with an infected person’s blood. The risk of actually catching an STD after getting a tattoo is very low. You’d have to have the absolute worst luck to happen to get tatted right after an infected person by a tattoo artist who used an unsterilized needle.
You can catch a STD from smoking a blunt with someone?
Yes. You can contract herpes if sharing a blunt with someone infected with the disease. But you can relax a little. The only way to contract it is if the infected person has open sores, cuts or bleeding in their mouth. Unless you plan on doing oral searches on everyone you smoke with it’s best you either not worry about it too much, or just smoke by yourself.
You can catch a STD from getting or giving head?
Yes. You run the risk of getting an STD anytime you participate in oral sex. Though the risk is lower than it would be from unprotected anal or vaginal sex, if the person going down has any cuts or open sores in their mouth their blood can enter your body via the lining of the vagina or the tip of the penis. The same goes for the person receiving it. Chances of catching something increase if you’re letting them “skeet skeet” in your mouth.

You can catch STD’S with 2 condoms on? You can catch a STD drinking after others?
Yes, but not a STD technically. You can contract oral herpes from sharing drinks with an infected person if they have open sores. It’s the same thing as sharing drinks with someone who has the common cold or hanging around someone with the pink eye. You’re more likely to catch mono though. Either way, just be careful.
Yes. Wearing two condoms during intercourse actually heightens the risk of contracting an STD because the excess friction of wearing two condoms could cause both of them to break, thus exposing skin on skin. So being extra safe isn’t necessarily the best bet
