Are you overwhelmed trying to plan for your big day? You're not alone. We've done our best to provide all types of local resources, expert guidance, de-stressing tips and everything in between. Your wedding day is one of the mos important days of your life. Hopefully, this issue will help you prepare for that day so it's all about you.
Workforce is at the forefront of our conversations across our communities, states and entire nation...whether its shortages, low unemployment, the great resignation and more. In 2022, The FMWF Chamber Foundation was launched to provide a dedicated systems-based approach to our regional workforce needs. We believe true collaboration, innovative partnerships, and leveraging each other's strengths are the ingredients for building a sustainable approach to workforce solutions and economic prosperity.
At The Chamber Foundation, we understand our workforce crisis requires a holistic approach to talent attraction, acclimation, development, and retention. We also know it cannot be solved by one organization alone. Our Ignite Initiative embraces collaborating and uniting the strengths of the community to give rise to regional prosperity in acclimation,
development, and retention. We know our community can only be successful if every person is provided the opportunity to succeed. In the upcoming months and years, we are calling upon education, businesses, non-profits, governments and individuals to come together, eliminate silos, and innovate together - for our future.
The Foundation may be new, but The Chamber's distinguished talent development programs have been around for some time. Programs like Young Professionals Network, Professionals of Color and Leadership FMWF paved a path to expand and develop a dedicated workforce and talent focus within The Foundation.
In 2023, we begin launching innovative workforce solutions rooted in evidencebased models, research and best practices. We will enter the implementation phase of The Good Jobs Challenge, a once-ina-generation opportunity The Chamber Foundation was awarded in August 2022; launch Concierge programming, expand current programming and much more.
We are building a network of people who believe the impossible is possible. We invite you to join us as we march toward a future that rises to our workforce challenges and writes the story of our region's success. We are just getting started - come join us.
A community with active and engaged young professionals is a community that attracts and retains them. This network is home to the leaders and influencers of tomorrow.
Home is a feeling. It’s a combination of familiarity, acceptance, and being welcomed. Welcoming newcomers and their families to the region is inviting them to call FMWF home. In 2023, The Chamber Foundation is launching its Community Champions and Concierge programming. Designed to welcome all newcomers and their families from entry to senior level, this acclimation programming focuses on helping newcomers transition to the region we love and call home.
We are seeking passionate representatives who Champion our community! Do you have a favorite restaurant, dog park, or activity to share with someone new? What is the number one thing you must share with people when you find out they just moved here? Connect with us at the QR code below to learn more about becoming a Community Champion!
The Chamber understands that hiring and retention are at the top of area employers’ concerns. Hiring out-of-state talent takes time and resources that are too precious to lose to turnover – especially at the senior level. When senior-level employees leave, they unintentionally influence direct reports and team members to consider leaving too.
If your company is hiring at the senior level and need to ensure your new talent can seamlessly transition from out of state to FMWF, contact us to
customize a Concierge experience that will connect your new hire and their family to the resources, relationships and experiences they will need to succeed. Our robust process begins with connecting directly with your new talent to assess their needs. What does your new employee need that you may not be able to assist with? Let us ask those questions and connect them directly with resources and people in the region.
Throughout your new employee’s first-year integration period, The Chamber Foundation will provide opportunities to showcase the region, curate meaningful experiences, and provide moments to establish connections and build relationships with others and the community. Our Concierge Strategist and passionate team of Concierge representatives will provide regular check-ins and needs assessments, respond to new needs, and help your new employees settle in. Your responsibility is persuading talent to join your organization, our responsibility is persuading them to call FMWF home.
Connecting and developing existing and emerging leaders to impact communities, careers and lives..
Ignite FMWF is a public-private partnership initiative that focuses on career awareness, exploration and preparedness, direct business connection and current talent pipeline development as we work to build the future of the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo metro’s skilled workforce.
The Ignite platform serves to link recruitment, skill building and career navigation into one collaborative system designed to close the workforce gap. This streamlined approach will serve as the hub for K-12, higher education, community non-profits and employers. Business and industry have the ability to directly impact education in the region to build and develop future workforce generations, and shape the future of talent in the community.
Ignite also provides organizations the opportunity to highlight their organizations
missions, goals, and employees by allowing us to come out and interview/film employees discussing their careers and providing insight and information on how they got into their specific field, industry, and job. These videos are housed on our platform, and educate learners by allowing them to see actual people in the community, along with providing information on the education and experiences that ultimately lead to their successfully being hired, what their career outlook could be, and realistic salary expectations within the FM area in those specific jobs.
Take the time to get involved with the Ignite platform as a business, and as an individual. Go to ignitefmwf.com and create your profiles today to start interacting with educators, the community, and job seekers.
For more information on how to schedule a video shoot, or how to create your profile and navigate the platform, please contact The Chamber, and we can set up a time to meet with you at your business.
Creating
impactful and inclusive opportunities for professionals of color to develop personally and professionally through meaningful engagement and a sense of belonging.
“Today is a day of gratitude and celebration with this Good Jobs Challenge Grant … We now have the dollar resources and we know how to collaborate. We have an opportunity to not just be best in the region, but one of the best in the country, and show how all of these workforce challenges can be solved together. When we are doing this, we are doing more than just creating jobs, we are really transforming lives.”
“We are more than grateful for the opportunity to partner with The Chamber Foundation’s Ignite regional workforce initiative. As a partner we are excited to be involved in the development of additional education and skill-training programs, interviewing many those candidates who complete the manufacturing-specific programs, providing quality jobs for those graduates and growing this community.”
“The Chamber Foundation’s mission is to strengthen the community’s regional workforce ecosystem, and they do that by activating community partners and engaging in innovative approaches to solving the region’s workforce issues. This includes acclimation, development, retention, and diversity, equity and inclusion. Ignite FMWF is also a major part of this, as the region’s workforce infrastructure and system of awareness, exploration, training and connection.”
Bringing women together in a unique, courageous and energetic forum that will build connections, provide a space to be brave and explore leadership and development both personally and professionally.

Looking for a New Career? Career?
Emerging Digital Academy might be your answer
Whether you are someone interested in tech, someone who has played around with coding on the side but never committed fully or someone just simply looking for a career change, the Emerging Digitial Academy may be right for you!
What is the Emerging Digital Academy (EDA)?
EDA is a 20-week immersive coding boot camp, the only coding Bootcamp of its kind in the state of North Dakota. The program was created by Emerging Prairie in 2020 with the intent of bridging the large gap in North Dakota college graduates prepared to fill the state's large number of open software engineer positions.
The structure of the program, according to Program Director Blaine Booher, consists of six 25-30 hour virtual weeks that include a large amount of introductory information, followed by 14 weeks of full-time work.
"Students are here, essentially, from 9 a.m., sometimes earlier, to 5 p.m.," Booher said. "It's like a full-time job with 20 hours a week of homework and projects. And then, we switch up the content quite a bit. So, earlier
in the week, we may focus on technical lectures and new content. Then, later in the week, we may pivot to group activities or team-building activities. We will really focus on tackling the same problems in different ways. And then, each week is a brand new topic. In the last six weeks, we will work on project work."
In all of that, students will learn what they truly need to work in technology: the ability to solve bigger problems and to be comfortable with the ambiguity of learning. The graduates of EDA are not much different from anyone else moving from postsecondary education into a career—most of what they actually do on the job they learn on the job, not in the classroom. However, the program helps to develop the abilities to solve and attack problems that are critical in this field.
Perhaps nearly as important as the material is the opportunity the program provides to
create meaningful connections. Each week, cohort members will have the opportunity to work with a mentor—many of whom continue their mentorship of the student in an unofficial capacity after graduation.
Interested in Applying?
Those interested in applying should know that the EDA team screens candidates pretty extensively in order to ensure that they are a good fit for the program. However, anyone who is interested should apply as the vetting process is only intended to ensure that prospective students don't waste money and time on something that may not be a fit for them.
This has allowed EDA to graduate 89% of its cohort members with 90% of those graduates finding an opportunity within the field within six months of graduation.
Emerging Digital Academy Program Director Blaine BooherWhat are the graduates up to?
We interviewed a handful of EDA graduates to see what professional strides they have made since participating.
UJJWAL ADHIKARI
After years of starting and quitting jobs, Ujjwal Adhikari had enough. He was ready to go back to school. However, the COVID-19 pandemic made that nearly impossible. Then, he found Emerging Digital Academy.
"My experience at EDA was amazing. I had gone into it with the mindset that it was just going to be another job. However, it was so much more than that. I felt like I was a part of something and had the ability to be
someone. EDA does an excellent job of fostering confidence! My career path has been so much better. I received a job right after EDA at an offer that was much higher than what I was expecting. The company that I work for is also very flexible which has been one of the biggest differences between this job and my previous jobs at Mcdonald's and UPS."
QUINN JOHNSON
In high school, Quinn Johnson planned on joining the military, but due to medical concerns, was disqualified from enlisting. Since he didn't have a Plan B, he went right into construction—something he did every summer in high school. He loved the work but didn't want to end up in the endless cycle of waking up early, working all day, going to the bar and drinking before bed.
"The thought of getting into EDA was scary to me. Before applying, I had zero experience with software development but was interested in computers, the apps/programs within them and how all of that works. During the first few weeks of EDA, I struggled with content. Luckily, Blaine and Mary, my instructors at the time, were phenomenal
teachers. After graduating from EDA, I have been working at Bushel Inc., which has been such a fantastic experience in which I am challenged daily and pushed by my fellow engineers to be the best I can be. My time at Bushel started as an internship, getting me up and running on the tech stack and processes we utilize daily. My internship was short-lived before I was offered a full-time position where I would then be placed on a multi-million dollar project that would be a turning point for Bushel. Since my time on that project, I have transitioned to a different part of the company where I help the Trade Team develop our trading platform product for all kinds of merchandisers, from small elevators to huge companies like ADM."
Photos provided by Emerging Digital Academy Associate Technical Consultant, PerficientPrior to enrolling with Emerging Digital Academy, David Brown worked various labor jobs with virtually no prospect of advancement.
"The future I saw for myself was working until an injury removed me from the job. And, with any luck, I'd collect disability for the remainder of my life. After graduating from the program, I felt renewed, relieved and more
DAVID BROWN JAMIE NAASZ
optimistic about the future than I had been since middle school, dreaming of being an independent adult. My career prospects are virtually unbounded. Although I can't be certain what jobs I may hold in the future, I am confident that learning mobile development, object-oriented programming and a smidge of big data concepts will allow me to be a competitive candidate at virtually every company. It has truly given me a new lease on life."
At 14, Jamie Naasz began working in the food service and construction industries.
"This continued until 2012 when I decided I wanted something different. I was tired of always being too hot or too cold being as I was working outdoors in Minnesota and North Dakota. And I was fully convinced that school was my way out. I quit my job and enrolled full-time in college. This was great, for about 2 years. I was pursuing a Biology degree, which was fascinating to me but also left me wondering what I would do with this degree. I knew that all the career options I wished to pursue would, unfortunately, require many more years of school and tremendous amounts of debt. Priorities in my life were shifting at this time and that led to me deciding that the additional investment was not worth it and I went back to construction. Not far down the road, I again felt the need for a change. This led me to work at SCHEELS. I had been working at SCHEELS for about five
years and once again began to get restless with work. After talking with people in the SCHEELS IT department, I decided to give software development a chance. This ultimately led me to EDA. The intensity and pace of EDA, while challenging, allowed me to transition into the industry very quickly. I am still employed at SCHEELS, now as a software developer.
"Since becoming a software developer, every day is incredibly unique with many challenges and an ever-growing list of skills to learn. I started as Software Developer Support in April 2021, transitioned to Software Developer in November 2021, and will now transition to Software Developer Technical Team Lead in January 2023. The opportunities provided to me by the training I received at EDA can't be emphasized enough. The future looks incredibly bright with numerous paths for me to pursue all under the umbrella of software development."

What started as a small group of tradesmen looking to give the Fargo-Moorhead area a new, large commercial/industrial mechanical company quickly turned into a premier contracting business with a team of nearly 80 employees. Using the knowledge the owners learned in the field, their goal was to create a sanctuary for plumbing and HVAC tradesmen where they could learn and grow. After seven years in business, Mission Mechanical is proud to have cultivated strong bonds with industry leaders and customers alike, bringing the community top-tier services including HVAC, plumbing and hydronics installation and service, custom sheet-metal fabrication and temperature controls/building automation.
Mission Mechanical has become so in demand that they’ve expanded to another location in Alexandria, MN, allowing them to service a larger region north, south, east and west of the Fargo-Moorhead area—from Grand Forks, ND to Watertown, SD and from Jamestown, ND to St. Cloud, MN. It’s all in their name—the team is on a mission to change the way that mechanical contracting services are provided in our region.
This year Mission Mechanical started “Mission Gives Back”, which lets employees donate company money to the charity of their choice.

EVENTIDE SENIOR LIVING COMMUNITIES
What makes Eventide a great place to work?
We feel what sets us apart from other companies is our vision for the future. We continue to look ahead at innovative ways to not only support employees and meet their current wants and needs but to provide the best care and services to our residents. It’s the feeling you have when you enter the building. Our employees truly care—we do what we say we do!
What are you working on next for your culture?
Workplace culture is something that we feel is very important at Eventide. All of our employees work really hard to provide the best care and experience for our residents and families and it is vital that employees feel appreciated for their hard work. We focus on the relationships that each employee has with their direct supervisor through monthly one on ones, check in’s and manager rounding. We also conduct an annual engagement survey and pulse surveys
throughout the year to gather information on employee engagement and areas that we as a company can improve on.
What are some unique benefits you offer?
Aside from the “normal” benefits most companies offer (health, dental, vision, retirement, etc.), we recently started offering the employees the option of “Pay on Demand.” This allows employees to deduct money already earned prior to payday!
What are you looking for in employees?
We really look for people who embody our ICARE values which are the foundation of who we are. Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence. Many of our positions we can train people how to do the task but it’s hard to teach someone to care. We look for people who have a passion to provide great care and customer service.

Just get on.” She often compares Chapter to a rocket ship because we’re new, exciting and can sometimes be bumpy as the company is going into unknown territory—but it's always worth it. Chapter is going to places no other aesthetic company has gone before! New team members spend time with Melissa learning about the history of the company, the purpose, the vision and our values that are critical to creating a culture that is unmatched.
What makes Chapter Aesthetic Studio a great place to work?
Our Chapter team loves what they do— and it shows. Trained providers come to our studios at the top of their discipline. We are committed to their professional growth and provide ongoing training to ensure guests receive the latest
aesthetic technology and the highest levels of expertise in the aesthetic industry.
At Chapter, we provide an unmatched level of opportunity for professional advancement and growth in the aesthetics field including an industryleading tuition reimbursement program. Chapter celebrates many success stories of employees who began their careers here and supports employees who went on to receive advanced degrees including LPN, RN and NPs. Every position at Chapter has a defined path for advancement, giving our team members the ability to enjoy long-term career growth and satisfaction.
Culture is important from the top down. Melissa is incredibly passionate about preserving Chapter’s culture as the company continues to expand into new markets. She believes having a strong culture rooted in core values benefits employees and guests. This is reinforced through our robust performance enablement system, including frequent 1:1s and employee engagement reviews and activities. We recently took time to honor our top
studios at a corporate leadership event where leaders and team members from every studio were brought together to learn from each other, celebrate successes and plan for the future. The leadership at Chapter believes highlighting accomplishments and learning from each other are key steps to our growth.
What are you working on next for your culture?
From daily huddles to the company-wide town halls, we actively work to coach our teams to act and make decisions based on our mission—our north star— which is to spark joy for our guests. We work tirelessly to ensure every team member is a physical representation of our culture. Our hiring approach, our industry-leading programs and how we educate and treat each other and our communities all stem from our culture and what’s important to us. That’s why we heavily invest in ensuring our teams live and breathe our culture.
Did you know?
All Chapter providers come to the company with strong medical backgrounds. Once they join, new employees go through 8-12 weeks of hands-on medical aesthetic training at Chapter University in Fargo, ND—where Chapter Aesthetic Studio was founded. This best-in-class training is unmatched in the aesthetics industry. The curriculum was developed by Dr. Benjamin Wood, chief medical officer and board-certified
plastic surgeon, as well as other top providers at the company who have decades of real experience supporting guests through their aesthetic journeys. Chapter leaders believe in consistency, mentorship and providing the best possible service to all guests. This rigorous curriculum was designed to ensure every guest receives the same excellent level of care in all locations across the country.
What are you looking for in employees?
Chapter is a company that truly focuses on its core values and mission when hiring. We are looking for employees who are guest-centric, care about their colleagues and are passionate about aesthetics. We seek leaders who are entrepreneurial in nature, innovative and open to sharing and trying new ideas. At Chapter, we focus on values and behaviors, which we call “OUR FACE”— Opportunity, Understanding, Responsibility, Fun, Accountability, Collaboration and Excellence.
Following these guidelines ensures the chosen candidates align with these values while also focusing on what needs to be done to be
successful. Chapter is looking for providers and advisors who can have fun, build relationships, work as a team and engage with guests, their colleagues and their community. We want people who are resilient and flexible and who are interested in building up Chapter. We also want people with a “my pleasure” mindset to ensure our values and purpose get translated into every guest interaction. Chapter focuses on hiring individuals who truly are passionate about playing for a team rather than just operating as individual contributors.
Unprecedented Growth
Because of Chapter Aesthetic Studio's explosive growth—from two locations in 2021 to 13 in 2022 and a projected 23 in 2023— Chapter is always looking for highly skilled medical professionals and customer service all-stars who have an entrepreneurial spirit and are dedicated to providing the best care for all guests, including studio managers, aesthetic advisors and nurses. These dedicated medical professionals do not need to have an aesthetic background, but they do have to be keenly focused on always providing the best care while also having a strong interest in learning and supporting their team.

FAMILY friendly
When Andrea Daily decided to join her sister on a trip to the Bahamas, a trip her sister earned by hitting her sales goals at SCHEELS, Andrea had no idea that this trip would launch her on a path toward her career and a family.
However, a couple of things happened on the trip that led her in that very direction:
No. 1 She found herself surrounded by SCHEELS associates who spoke glowingly about their experiences at the company and how they were treated.
No. 2 She met the love of her life, Chace Daily, who was working as a shop manager in Reno, NV, at the time, and who is now in his 18th year with the company serving at the SCHEELS Corporate Office as a buyer.
"We just hit it off," Andrea said. "We met in March 2010 and were engaged the following October. It's kind of crazy, but we just knew. We did the long-distance thing for a while, living in different places, and knew that we were going to do this and make it work. Once we got married, I joined Chace in Reno."
After arriving in Reno, Andrea began working as a sign language interpreter
for the local school district and working part-time at SCHEELS on the weekends in the shoe department. Eventually, the couple began having children, and Andrea decided to go full-time with the company.
"With their great benefits, and with us moving so often because of Chace’s position at SCHEELS, it was a nobrainer for me to stay with SCHEELS, and it has been so amazing," Andrea said.
Over the course of her 10 year career at SCHEELS, Andrea has worked as a specialty shop manager at the Salt Lake City, Utah, location, as an E-commerce merchandiser in Fargo, and is currently serving as an advertising project manager in Marketing.
"I love the family atmosphere SCHEELS offers and enjoy all of my fellow associates and lifelong friends," Andrea said. "[SCHEELS] supports families so well, and your coworkers really become like your family. We've gotten to know so many people within the SCHEELS community. The culture is amazing. That is so important, to love what you do and the people you do it with."
Thanks to SCHEELS, and a fun trip to the Bahamas back in 2010, Chace and Andrea are happily married, living in Fargo with their three beautiful children, Pearl (8), Benton (6) and Scarlett (5), and enjoying their careers and work family at the SCHEELS Corporate Office.
"I feel very lucky for my family to be part of a company like SCHEELS," Andrea said. "In our corporate office, many people have kids, so they love it when you bring your kids in. It's just so welcoming."
Andrea Daily, Chace Daily and their familySCHEELS isn't just a job for those that walk through their doors donning the traditional gray polo, black pants and SCHEELS name tag, it's a career with advancement opportunities, an employee ownership structure and a supportive, family atmosphere.
With all of that, it's no wonder these SCHEELS associates have stayed with the company so long.
a passion on full display
Hannah LeichtenbergGrowing up, Hannah Leichtenberg always loved shopping. However, when she shopped, even as a young child, she was more interested in the setup of the store, than she was in the actual items she was shopping for.
“I've always been intrigued by window displays," Leichtenberg said. "When I went to New York City, I'd just stand there and watch them set up the window displays, and I always thought how cool it would be to do something like that."
Now, she does. Leichtenberg, in her 16th year with the company, has a very unique job as the Display Lead, a position in which she has the opportunity to bring each shop to life, managing store signage and mannequin clusters. She does this not just in the Fargo-Moorhead area, but also assists at all of the new SCHEELS stores opening across the country.
"What's really special about SCHEELS is that when you go to the other locations, it almost feels like you're still at your home
location," Leichtenberg said. "Everyone is so welcoming, friendly and helpful. It's very cool to go to a big store, like our store in Texas, and see that they're very similar to our small store in Moorhead."
Every day, Leichtenberg gets to live out her childhood fascination by “dressing-up” the store, piecing together store signage, mannequins and other display elements.
"My son, when he was younger, said to me, 'Mom, you don't even work, you go play with barbies every day’," Leichtenberg said. "Which is true, kind of. I also do work for our store events and social media pages."
And while the work is a perfect fit for Leichtenberg, her favorite part of the job is truly the people.
"I really enjoy coming to work. It's like a little family. It sounds silly, but it's the truth," Leichtenberg said. "We have similar interests, beliefs and goals. I remember, while working at SCHEELS Home & Hardware on 13th Ave., a couple of fellow associates announced they were retiring, and I started crying. You work with these people for so long that you end up knowing everything about them. And I love when I get to travel because I get to meet other display associates. Some of them have become some of my best friends."

about moorhead scheels
SCHEELS has been in Moorhead, Minnesota, since opening its first FargoMoorhead location in 1927. The current location in Moorhead is the smallest SCHEELS location. However, after removing its hunting and fishing shops in a 2006 remodel, the location now has an expansive retail selection.
DID YOU KNOW?
The current iteration of SCHEELS Home & Hardware on 13th Avenue in Fargo is the only SCHEELS Home & Hardware in existence.
passion down to the roots
Luke FuglieToday, SCHEELS is known across the nation as a sporting goods and entertainment retailer. However, it may surprise some to learn that this local giant got its start as a small hardware and general merchandise store.
As an Assistant Store Leader at the only SCHEELS Home & Hardware store in the nation, Luke Fuglie, plays a big part in maintaining the company's roots.
However, like many associates, Fuglie did not originally view the opportunity with SCHEELS as a life-long career.
"When I started working for SCHEELS full-time, I was going to school fulltime at North Dakota State University (NDSU) for Business Administration and planning to pursue a career in business after graduation," Fuglie said. "So, that's what I thought I was going to do. Things were a little crazy at times, but I was able to graduate from NDSU in 2005. After graduating, I did some internships and realized that sitting at a desk all day wasn't for me. I loved the people I worked with at SCHEELS and felt like I could utilize my degree here, and began working toward a leadership position. I've been with the company ever since."
Throughout his 20 years with SCHEELS, Fuglie has worked in several shops across the store, including the service shop, lawn and garden, electrical,
barbecue and patio equipment, and as a cashier.
"I've built a lot of relationships here," Fuglie said. "When I lost my father about seven years ago, one of the things that really helped me get through it was the people I work with. I had a mentor who became a father figure to me. He kind of took me under his wing. SCHEELS truly is a family. An associate of mine, who started as a part-time cashier, invited me to be an officiant at her wedding. That's pretty cool."
Supporting Service
Serving in the military is one of the most selfless things a citizen of the United States can do. SCHEELS knows this, and that's why they have supported Fishing Expert Seth Jordan and many like him.
Seth enlisted in the United States Navy Reserve in 2007. In 2010, the longtime hunting and fishing enthusiast started working at SCHEELS part-time at the Visa booth. Eventually, Seth worked his way up into a full-time position as the shop manager of something a little more his style, fishing.
He is now in his 13th year with SCHEELS, and his 16th with the United States Navy Reserve as Chief Hospital Corpsman, and was recently deployed for the first time, going overseas from November 2021 through August 2022.
"SCHEELS was really there for me," Seth said. "Their appreciation and dedication to the military is unmatched. They made the transitions from predeployment, to deployment, to postdeployment, as smooth as possible. They checked in on me while I was deployed, and when I returned, helped me transition right back into my position. SCHEELS also ensured all of my benefits remained while I was gone."
That check-in during the deployment even included a care package.
"They sent me a bunch of candy, some
Dot's Pretzels and things like that," Seth said. "It was really sweet and unexpected."
Seth has experienced that amazing culture in other aspects of his involvement with SCHEELS as well. In fact, it's that amazing culture that got him to go full-time with the company in the first place.
"I started here to earn some extra income," Seth said. "Plus, I like to fish and hunt, and I heard the discounts were pretty good. However, the atmosphere and culture here made me want to go full-time. The culture we have in retail almost makes it feel like you've made it to the top of the profession for retailers all over the country."
"That's one great thing about this place, there are a lot of like-minded people here," Seth said. "Everybody else that works in the fishing and hunting section likes to hunt and fish. So, you kind of form these natural friendships and relationships with people that are likeminded and like to do the same things. I have some of my best hunting and fishing memories with the people that I've worked with at SCHEELS."

"I would have to go with the universities. There are not many employers that would pay you to go somewhere and go fishing for an entire week and use all the latest and greatest products. When you do that, you get to meet people from all over the company, from all over the country."
SCHEELS hosts 28 universities and 9 graduate schools for select associates each year through their university system, where they encounter hands-on experience with the products they sell in their specific shop and gain the tools to make your next shopping experience the best yet.
