Master Chef participant Hetal strives to popularize Gujarati cuisine in international market India is truly making its mark more brighter internationally. We often talk about how Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Mallika Sherawat are touching international heights and making India proud. But little did we know and talk of other lesser known Indian daughters who are equally striving to make names for the country and marking it with brighter colours in international sky. One such is Hetal Vasavada. Hailing from Gujarat, India, Hetal is an Indian American resident who took part in 'Master chef' featuring in American television channel FOX. The lady did put up a great show but couldn't make it to the last five, however, she gave a great shot to it and all thoughout made attempts to popularize Indian Gujarati cuisine to the world.
According to her, "I think Gujarati food is neglected a lot, especially in restaurants in the US. There are south Indian restaurants with dosa, and then there are Punjabi restaurants. A lot of people think that Gujarati food is just lots of sugar... But it's not. It is definitely healthy and very tasty," Vasavada told IANS over the phone from Bloomsfied in New Jersey, where she stays. She was seen serving Khichdi and coconut curry soup to the foreign participants in the show. She made generous attempts to rectify the foreign thoughts which take Indian food as heavy and creamy one. She is positive about the fact that foreigners are taking plunge into the Indian cuisines and are trying out Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka and Dosa enthusiastically. She is srtiving to garner the same enthusiasm and liking for the cuisine from her homeland, Gujarat.
Her love and fondness for the country is really inspiring. Being a cook, she is trying to make her country famous and well-known in her own way and therefore demands that every bit of respect and support that we flood on actors and actresses when they grab foreign projects. Way to go girl. Food Dialer wishes Hetal, all the very bests in her attempt and life.
