pinnacle press SUMMER CURFEW LAWSAND TEENS IN FOREST HEIGHTS

S

chool has only been out for a couple of weeks and yet the HOA office has been taking calls—daily—about the late night activities of area teens. In addition, we have received several reports from Alert Security which indicate they have been called to respond to noise, vandalism and trespassing complaints anywhere between midnight and 4 am. While we recognize and appreciate the need for teenagers to exercise their independence, we are also in the position of providing a safe and secure living environment for all residents, including the youth of Forest Heights. To that end, we respectfully ask that parents talk with their teenagers to help them understand the following:

• There is a curfew law in the State of Oregon. Oregon state law requires that the parents, legal guardians and others charged with the care of a child make sure that the child is not out after curfew. Parents and others who fail to meet their legal obligations can be cited into court, be subject to fines and required to complete a parent
