Learning & Education We are dedicated to helping members advance and grow. The Jewellery Education Training System (JETS) has over 100 students enrolled in 2016. Perfect for anyone working with jewellery or anyone with a keen interest in the Canadian jewellery industry, JETS provides a perfect background of the knowledge required to move forward with jewellery education. Featuring 16 modules which discuss topics important to our industry, JETS awards successful participants with their CJA Graduate Jeweller (CJAGJ) designation. This designation shows employers and consumers alike that you are up-to-date with the knowledge, sales techniques and security practices that are key to all jewellery businesses in Canada. MasterValuer workshops offered by the CJA teach students valuable, current information necessary for appraisal practices in a practical, hands-on way. The MasterValuer course is a gateway to the CJA’s Accredited Appraiser Program and is a great tool for anyone wishing to gain first-hand knowledge about appraising jewellery. In partnership with the Retail Council of Canada (RCC), the CJA is launching a Certified First-Level Manager Course, Fall 2016. Designed specifically for retail jewellery store owners and managers. The Accredited Appraiser Program (AAP) provides successful applicants with their CAP designation. The prestigious Certified Appraisal Professional (CAP) designation shows everyone that you are an ethical jewellery appraiser, committed to upholding the CJA CAP Code of Ethics and providing the utmost care when doing jewellery appraisals. One receives their CAP designation after going through a rigorous requirements criteria review and exam.

The Voluntary Code of Conduct for Authenticating Canadian Diamond Claims is endorsed by the Canadian Jewellers Association (CJA), Jewellers Vigilance Canada (JVC) and the Quebec Jewellers’ Corporation. This
The Code establishes minimum standards based on a paper trail and a chain of warranties required to validate a Canadian diamond claim. Retailers who abide by the Code are demonstrating to consumers their
Code evolved from the collaborative efforts of a broad cross section of the jewellery industry. The Code applies to diamonds that are advertised as Canadian by all dealers in the diamond jewellery industry who are registered with the Canadian Diamond Code Committee (CDCC). It takes into account the Enforcement
commitment to ensure the authenticity of Canadian diamond claims. This Code allows Canadian diamonds to be traced from the consumer all the way back to the Canadian diamond mine of origin. This provides consumers with a mechanism to obtain authentication of Canadian
(MIC Guidelines) published by the Competition Bureau, a Canadian
