Forsyth Country Day School

Core Values: Compassion. Curiosity. Integrity. Respect. Responsibility.

Forsyth Country Day School is a community of learners dedicated to preparing our students for what’s ahead.

At Forsyth Country Day School, we believe that students learn best when they are happy, engaged, and have a sense of belonging. Our students are curious, motivated, and excited to learn. They create meaningful connections with their teachers and classmates, engage in intentional learning, and develop essential skills for the world ahead.

Our students both challenge and support one another as they explore their interests, pursue their passions, and work together to create a vibrant, dynamic learning community where everyone can find their place.

They learn to embrace their curiosity and follow it naturally wherever it may lead. Along the way, teachers serve as guides and mentors, helping students formulate essential questions and follow the answers down paths of discovery.

Our exceptional educational experience fosters curiosity, develops talents and interests, and builds confidence.

Here’s how:

Invested faculty – Our teachers, coaches, and counselors are all invested in making sure each child is valued, understood, and appropriately challenged. They encourage all students to be their authentic selves.

Forward-thinking learning – Our core values, curriculum, and programs develop students who are ready for the world ahead. Students gain cultural competencies, entrepreneurial skills, leadership skills, and an openness to explore the greater community and contribute to the world.

Collaborative community – Our teachers, staff, and families all come together to support and connect with our students. We strive to cultivate a sense not only of inclusion but of belonging. We understand the importance of working together and building community. Our students are motivated to collaborate and make an impact.

Academic excellence, caring educators, and authentic connections all play a role in preparing students for what’s ahead.

“When you join our community, you help shape our community. Your voice matters and you can be your authentic self. You belong at FCDS.”

Gardner Barrier, Head of

What does it mean to belong at FCDS?

In the words of Brené Brown, “True belonging doesn’t require you to change who you are; it requires you to be who you are. ” Be who you are. Show up as you are. Be welcomed and welcome others as they are. That is what belonging means at Forsyth Country Day. Together, we explore our individual and collective identities in order to know ourselves better. We value each person and support them as they strive to reach their full potential, encourage innovation, and work to accept and integrate different beliefs and viewpoints within a single community.

Know Yourself. Connect with Others. Build Community.
