TACO-N-TODO ADDS A WEST COAST FLAIR TO GAINESVILLE DINING SCENE

Gainesville, Georgia is more than 2,300 miles from California, but a new restaurant in town wants to shorten that distance with its menu.
Taco-N-Todo (translation: tacos and all) is a new taqueria set to open its doors on Friday, August 16. What is different about this Mexican restaurant will be its menu, according to the restaurant owner Eduardo Magana. A West Hall High School graduate, Magana was born in California and still frequents the west coast to visit family and friends. The taco and taqueria scene there has always influenced the way he wants to serve food, Magana said. “We are just showing a different presentation,” he said. “I want to add a West Coast flair.”
“West Coast flair” Magana explained the small menu, which makes for a quick turnaround and peculiar style of tacos and burritos that will be available for customers. Case in point the T-N-T taco, which has a double meaning for its explosive flavor. The taco loco, vampiros (vampire), a tortilla that is cooked to become crispy and is filled with meat and cheese. “It’s like eating a crispy sandwich, Magana said.

Mulitas, a quesadilla-like sandwich that is also a part of the menu at Tacos- N-Todos, is something Magana believes customers will enjoy. There is also a burrito that is loaded with three meats, cheese and French fries that Magana called “elegante”, which translate to fancy in English. Hugo Sanchez will be the chef on the grill at Todo-N-Taco. Magana said Sanchez is “crucial to making the business work.” A competitor that was a soccer player during his time at West Hall, Magana believes his business, though entering a very competitive market, will thrive. “We’re trying to switch up the game and give our customers something different,” Magana says of his menu. “The goal is to have a small menu, so customers get quality food fast. The quality is first and foremost.”
Taco-N-Todo will open on Friday, August 16 no matter what, says Magana, who once sold his tacos, burritos and quesadillas out of a food truck. The process to find and renovate a brick-andmortar location was long. “If we have to sell tacos on the street we will,” he joked.
