Make your reservations for the Annual Pumpkin Carving Party –October 20 This family event at the Fort Belvoir Officers’ Club is perfect for the kids. The event is open to both members and nonmembers. $8 includes a pumpkin, paint, carving kit and lunch. Pre-paid reservations are required. Military Family Appreciation Event – November 1 MWR presents a FREE pizza & ice-cream special event to celebrate November’s Fort Belvoir Military Family Appreciation Month on Thursday, November 1st from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Community Center Ballroom. The Fort Belvoir community is invited to enjoy over $300 worth of door prizes, kid’s activities with music, and fun social time for all ages! Space is limited and food is first come, first served. Plus, “like” the Fort Belvoir DFMWR Facebook to unlock exclusive MWR Discounts all throughout November. Van Noy Library Closed The library will re-open once all renovations have been inspected. Twilight Golf hours Now through Wednesday, 31 October, the Golf Course - Twilight golfing starts at 4 p.m. November 1 the winter rates begin. The class times are the following: Mon/Wed/Fri 5:30, 6:30 and 11:30 a.m. and Tues/Thurs 6 p.m. Preregisteration is required at Graves or Bodyshop. Military Insignia Fair – November 4 Join us for a Military Insignia Fair, where you can buy, sell, trade or collect various Military Memorabilia from all over the world and from every imaginable ear. Event begins at 8 a.m. for vendors to set up between 7 to 8 a.m. Customers can participate from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Belvoir Road and Taylor Road, building 1200. For more information, please contact the Community Center at 703-805-3714. Archery Lessons Outdoor Recreation is now offering new Archery classes starting in November. Advanced registration and class payment are required before classes begin. Participants who are new to the sport, Outdoor Recreation will be offering a new Introductory Archery class every Monday from 5:30 to 7p.m. starting on November 5. Following classes are also starting in November: Beginner Archery Lessons – Monday evenings from 7 to 8:30 p.m. 6 week class starting on November 5. Intermediate Archery Lessons – Tuesday evenings from 6 to 8 pm. 6 week class starting on November 5.
