In response to the Army Family Covenant (AFC), Child, Youth & School (CYS) Services has created PROPS, a program that offers on-stage performing arts experiences before a live audience. PROPS provides Army Garrisons world-wide with workshops for 6-18 year-old children and youth covering all aspects of the theater, to include auditioning, role playing, stage craft, makeup, sound design, as well as costume and set design. PROPS is supported by Missoula Children’s Theater (MCT), a nationally-acclaimed educational-enhancement organization. MCT supplies their expertise in theatrical education to each Garrison participating in PROPS. MCT, whose mission is the development of life skills in young people through participation in the performing arts, is already an entity familiar to Army Families around the world.
