MOLLY AND THE OWL SATURDAY 2 JUNE, 2.30PM
Molly and the Owl is a jazz piece for young children. It combines a spoken story with an original jazz score to introduce children to the basic elements of the music. The piece centres on the story of a young girl called Molly, her strange meeting with a saxophone playing owl, and subsequent adventures in a town called ‘Jazzville’. An original score performed by a live jazz group accompanies the story telling. The aim is to use the story as a way of engaging the children’s interest in the music, a device which has worked well in classical music, perhaps most notably with Prokoviev’s Peter and the Wolf. WHERE IS MRS CHRISTIE?
THURSDAY 20 SEPTEMBER, 7.45PM Agatha Christie was one of the greatest thriller writers of all time and certainly the most prolific. In 1926, she was at the centre of a mystery as perplexing as any of her fiction, a series of events which sparked one of the biggest and most extensive police hunts in history. Her crashed car was discovered in Surrey and the famous author was missing, presumed dead by many, for eleven days. However, she was eventually found at a luxury hotel in Harrogate. She claimed then, and for the rest of the life, that she was suffering from amnesia and remembered nothing. Neither the press nor the police believed her. Actor Liz Grand (previous one-woman show ‘The Second Best Bed’) presents her new one-woman show ‘Where Is Mrs Christie?’ Did Agatha Christie lie, and if so why? Did she suffer from amnesia? Was it a publicity stunt? Or was there a darker secret involved in this disappearance which was to affect her for the rest of her life? The answer to all these questions will, as in all good thrillers, be revealed! TICKETS: £15 ENFIELD PRESENTS SPRING | SUMMER 2018

INTRICATE IDENTITIES EXHIBITION
MONDAY 7 MAY - FRIDAY 1 JUNE 10AM - 5PM Intricate Identities explores differing approaches to art despite an apparent shared experience. It looks at dreams and wishes alongside the mundane and average, and the beauty to be found in life’s simplest forms. Errol and Sam have had different priorities and challenges in life, however they both came to find a passion and talent for art at local brain injury charity, Headway East London. As active members for 8 and 18 years respectively, Sam and Errol regularly create at the charity’s onsite art studio, and are two of the studio’s most prolific artists - building up large portfolios of work and plenty of admirers. HIDDEN TREASURES
HIDDEN TREASURES, IN ENFIELD MUSEUM Revealing Broomfield House and Park
THE ENFIELD MINERVA
SUMMER 2018 Broomfield House has a history stretching back to the 16th century, with some notable owners. Along with the surrounding park, it was bought for public use in 1903. The House sadly suffered a number of fires but key items were salvaged and stored with the aim of restoration. Many people have fond memories of this once loved building, its museum, art displays, café and baby clinic. This exhibition will explore the history of Broomfield House to the present day, bringing the house and landscape back to life through photographs, paintings and objects. It will be a rare chance to see a newly restored section of the Baroque Lanscroon murals, and re-discover one of Enfield’s long lost treasures.
