Insightful and inspirational this is a celebration of textiles not to be missed! Develop your own making and crafting skills with our range of workshops and courses designed for all abilities. Indulge your creative side as we invite you to explore the process of creating, making and learning – all in the comfort of the Hall with friends old and new.

We also have an exciting programme of music from talented singer/songwriters Brooke Jazz Lawrence and Nadia Rae plus Forty Hall favourite Maria Evangelou returns for another Mother’s Day treat. For those looking for something classical the Royal College of Music bring harpist Valeria Kurbatova and flautist Renate Sokolovska to the Hall for an evening of exquisite music. EXHIBITION

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO MAKE IT OK? Five internationally renowned artists explore damage and repair, to bodies, minds, objects and landscapes, through stitch and other techniques. Dorothy Caldwell and Saidhbhín Gibson look at mankind’s interactions with nature, while Freddie Robins explores depression and trauma; Karina Thompson delves into medical research; and Celia Pym uses darns to “make it ok”. The exhibition investigates repair through the language of thread and textiles and explores the frustrations and liberations of contemporary artists challenging the conventions of craft. Curated by Liz Cooper, a contemporary craft curator with a background in art textiles and contemporary visual art.
