Millfield Theatre in Edmonton is the jewel in the crown of the Enfield Arts scene. Set in the grounds of the attractive and listed Georgian Millfield House, it is a flourishing and successful purpose-built modern theatre. The Theatre is friendly and accessible, with comfortable seats, a spacious bar serving a range of food and drinks, free car parking, and a terrific programme of entertainment for young and old. The larger than life jockey - famed for spectacular jumps off his horses in the paddock after victories - is bringing a great evening of conversation, anecdotes and memories. Frankie, 46, was born in Milan - the son of a jockey - and blazed a trail through the racing world, emerging champion jockey three times and having ridden hundreds of winners. He rose to prominence after riding all seven winners on British Champions’ Day at Ascot in 1996. Join the Helen Rollason centre for their Cancer Charity Exhibition.

Rachael Nee our artists in residence at Building BloQs will be creating an art installation which will look at the history of Women’s roles in industry and manufacturing in Enfield. Incorporating old and new technology, including objects made in Enfield throughout history. Rachael will show art works made on her residency alongside works made by the two community workshops held at Building BloQs on the 2 and 9 December. Participants in the workshops will be manufacturing bespoke light boxes which will shine words they have chosen to communicate.

The centre based at North Middlesex Hospital greatly support the Art Group which was formed 3 years ago under the instruction of Zohreh, an artist who had cancer herself and painted her journey. It was her dream to start an art group at the Helen Rollason centre, who had helped her at this difficult time. “The art exhibition is a way to show how far we have all come and we would love people to come and share in our joy.” Exhibition Artist

On the 11th January there will be a panel discussion including guest speakers who have knowledge about the heritage of Womens work in manufacturing in Enfield.

Tasks across the winter to early spring period will include woodland management, scrub and rhododendron clearance, a river clean-up and hedge planting. Hot drinks and cake provided! Please bring scissors or secateurs if you have them (though some will be available to borrow for a small deposit). Wrap up warm and don’t forget your wellies!

Watch the sun rise over the stunning grounds of Forty Hall to the haunting and wonderful sound of flautist Jacquelyn Hynes. Jacquelyn will perform an eclectic programme of atmospheric and mesmerising flute music including pieces drawn from her Lost series of compositions, beautiful traditional Irish airs; and including a specially composed piece for this concert - Aurora which will incorporate the theme of bird-song, creating a truly magical event that marks the arrival of dawn. Disappearing 9 Patch Workshop Saturday 17 March 1pm - 4pm Spend an enjoyable afternoon and learn to sew the disappearing 9 patch. It is a simple patchwork technique to start with. The tutor will take you through step by step demonstrations and printed instructions will be provided. You need to be able to use a sewing machine and sew straight. The patchwork can be made into a cushion, bag or table mat after. You can make more patchwork blocks to make a quilt. You will need to bring a sewing machine and fabric scissors. Dawn Easter Baskets AND Gingerbread Treats at Chorus the Haberdasher’s House Bird Walk Thursday 12 April 10.30am & 2.30pm Forty Hall was built for Sir Nicholas Rainton, a wealthy haberdasher. His fine 17th century table would be laden with sweet foods, including gingerbread made from almond paste and spices. Get creative with raffia, ribbons, buttons, beads and paper to weave a unique little Easter basket worthy of the haberdasher’s house! Nordic Walking A full body exercise that is easy on the joints and suitable for all ages and abilities. Using specially designed poles which make use of upper body muscles and help to propel the walker along, Nordic Walking is a great way of keeping fit at your own pace. Poles are provided for you; however you are also welcome to bring your own.
