Help support Alresford Rotary and the good causes it helps and a local grower! End Polio Now! The eradication of Polio is the Rotary’s longest standing and most significant effort. Along with its partners (notably the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation) it has helped immunize more than 2.5 billion children against Polio in 122 countries. Remarkably (but reflecting the immense effort made) Polio cases have reduced over the last three decades or so by 99.9% worldwide. In August 2020 the World Health Organisation announced that transmission of the wild poliovirus had ended in Africa, an historic and vital step towards global eradication of Polio. Wild Polio cases have been reported this year in only Pakistan and Afghanistan and in each of those countries very few. Rotary is a non political organisation and the early indications are that notwithstanding the many current changes in Afghanistan the final push towards the eradication of Polio is supported by the Taliban. To distinguish which children have been immunised the practice has been to dip one of the children's fingers in a purple dye and that is why for some years one Rotary activity to raise awareness of and funds for End Polio Now has been the mass planting of purple crocus corms. Millions have been planted across Great Britain and Ireland as a reminder each spring of the ongoing work for a Polio free world. Alresford Rotary will be planting 4000 crocus corms in November and is currently identifying public locations where it has permission to do so and where the vegetation will be sufficiently short in the spring to enable the flowers to be seen and where the flowers will not be mown down! If you can suggest / offer any appropriate locations and/ or wish to volunteer to help with the planting please let us know! Rotary A worldwide voluntary organisation of men and women dedicated to “service before self”, helping others, promoting what is good in society and aiming for peace the world over. Winchester Councillors Report
W
hat we modestly consider to be mid Hampshire’s best firework display and bonfire will return with a bang after a year’s absence on Friday 5th November at Arlebury Park at 7.45 p.m. preceded by the traditional torchlit procession down West Street from 7.00 p.m. The New Green Economic Development Strategy This has been commissioned and will identify the scale and necessary steps to deliver a greener, inclusive and more technologically driven, creative economy. Success criteria will be to deliver an environment in which existing businesses can grow sustainably; new businesses can be created and thrive, particularly those operating in the green growth sectors, and high-quality job opportunities are provided for all across the district. A shorter-term deliverable was the first of Carbon Reduction Open Fora on 29th September. The participants were engaged and engaging, with useful suggestions what we should be exploring further. Attendees included both local councillors and interested members of the public. The total value of business support grants now distributed to businesses across the Winchester District is £50.3m. A second round of the Transformation, Adaptation and Diversification (TAD) grant opened on Monday 16 August and closed on Monday 13 September 2021. This grants forms part of the discretionary Additional Restrictions Grant fund. It has attracted 35 applications in total. The total value of grant that has been applied for is £412,668. The applications are currently being reviewed for eligibility and to determine the level of grant offer. A somewhat mischievous article on the front page of the Hampshire Chronicle suggested that developers wanted to build 57,000 houses in the district. All this has arisen from the release of plans of the latest SHELAA sites, the result of the latest call for development sites for housing, employment etc. This call for sites is a legal requirement under the National Planning Policy Framework and part of the lengthy process to establish the Local Plan as a valid legal instrument. Landowners and/or their agents can put forward their land repeatedly at every SHELAA call. (There will be another call for sites after the preparation of the Draft Local Plan.) The total area of land put forward for development amounts to 3,700 Hectares. It is worth repeating that the SHELAA does not recommend which sites are most suited to meet any remaining requirements and it is not a policy document and does not allocate sites. The housing needs of the district are currently estimated at 700 per annum. (This is an estimate as the housing needs algorithm is subject to change by the Government and the number is also subject to variables such as ’windfall’ sites). Housing density varies between about 30 to 90 units per Hectare so that the total land take per year would between 8.0 and 23.0 Hectares. A very small fraction of 3,700 Hectares. (For those of you familiar with rods, poles and perches and other of

the proposed Imperial units, suggested for re-introduction, 3,700 hectares is 8,917 Acres). Northington Pipeline: Originally this ‘temporary’ measure was to provide a stand-by water supply in a drought until a desalination plant could be brought on-line. The de-salination idea has now been dropped which raises the questions of what is meant by ‘temporary’ when long-term solutions for increased supplies are not clear. Southern Water have been consulting with local parishes on a new planning application for the ‘temporary’ pipeline from the boreholes at Totford to the fish farm at Itchen Abbas. The original scheme was to have been laid above ground except for a few buried sections below roads. Many objections were made due to the visual intrusion of the pipe itself and to the storage yards where the pipes would be stacked. The new proposal is to bury the pipe for its entire length. This obviously minimises its visual impact, but there is a worry that a ‘temporary’ pipeline, buried underground might prove a very tempting longerterm solution for Southern Water with a potentially devastating effect on the water table and Candover Brook, which is home to a significant population of White Clawed Crayfish

re you moving as freely and effortlessly as you’d like? Is postural deterioration inevitable with age? Can youthful poise, balance and co-ordination be regained? We were all born with wonderfully functioning bodies, but nobody gave us the instruction manual! So during our lives we have pulled ourselves out of shape. Alexander Technique is a valuable education to show us how to return to ‘factory settings’ where our bodies once again work as they were designed. Through this, problems often drop away. As young children we could stand and walk with ease, sit comfortably for as long as we please without strain; our bodies a model of poise and perfect muscle tone. Sadly, the emotional and physical stresses of modern life accumulate and manifest in chronic muscle tension, distorting our movement patterns and well being. Our musculoskeletal system - our bones, muscles and soft tissue is a complex integrated system harmonised by appropriate tension and elasticity to maintain stability and strength, balance and coordination. Think very simplistically of a tent; poles, canvas and guy ropes, ineffective by themselves but tensioned together appropriately, the tent structure is strong, stable and able to withstand external forces. Unfortunately, when we start interfering with our own natural functioning with undue tension (over contracting some muscles and under using others) imbalances occur throughout, which has a major impact on the way we react, move and perform. Aches, pains and injury are also tell tale signs. Often we focus on individual body parts or muscles. Exercise is beneficial - muscle atrophy is to be avoided at all costs! - but it is important to recognise that our bodies are not made up of parts to make a whole, but they are a whole. Understanding how our whole body integrates and how we are affecting it, comes possibility to restore ourselves as nature intended. Fear, stress, thoughts, emotions, chaos, excess demands on strength and co-ordination are all enemies of how we use our bodies. We

fix, contract, compress and shorten in stature. Even furniture has an impact. The trouble is, much of our busy lives are carried out repetitively on autopilot, at a subconscious level. Repetitive movements becomes habitual and before long, these patterns feel normal and ‘right’. Worse still, if most of our reactions are subconscious how on earth do we know what to change and how? Alexander Technique works through thinking in activity; with initial help from a Alexander Technique teacher we learn awareness of our unwanted habits, to make change and from that, real choice as to how we react and move. Alexander Technique can be applied to help you do anything better and easier. Co-ordination and energy levels improve, movement becomes lighter, free, and more enjoyable. When our bodies and minds work together we learn to rebalance physically, as well as mentally and emotionally. With that comes greater self awareness, confidence and inner strength. Adult Flu Clinics Our flu clinics are well under way and are operating safely. Save the Children - Alresford & District Branch H E L P - We have been fundraising for over 50 years in Alresford and, despite the Covid restrictions, we hope to continue for many more years. But we need help. Our Hon. Secretary is retiring after many years and we need a replacement. Someone who can organise committee meetings, take Minutes, sort out licences, etc. as well as help physically at fundraising events. Committee Meetings are held three or four times a year in the evening and fundraising events are usually at weekends. Need an extra £100 to help stay warm this winter?
If you're on a low income, over 60 and live in Hampshire, you could get a grant of £100 to help stay warm this winter from the Surviving Winter fund. With rising energy prices, an increasing number of people will be finding it hard to heat their homes this year. The Surviving Winter fund is open from 11th October until the end of March 2022 (or earlier if all funding is allocated before that date) and can be accessed via your local Citizens Advice. The scheme is aimed at people who are over 60 and live in Hampshire and whose only income is the state pension (with or without state credit), or those who will struggle to heat their home adequately this winter. Successful applicants will receive a one-off grant of £100 which will be paid directly into their bank account and can be used to help with heating costs or to buy food and clothes. If you think you might be eligible, please contact Citizens Advice Winchester District, and one of our advisers will support you with an application. COMMUNITY Winchester Councillor, Fiona Isaacs Report New Breast Lump and Symptoms service Many residents may not know but Surgeries in Winchester , Alresford and others are part of a new Pilot scheme for Rapid Investigation service. Alresford Apple Day It was a pleasure to support the Rotary along with churches with this popular event. What ghastly weather for it but this didn’t dim the smiles on everyones faces. Well don’t to everyone involved. The Hampshire Fair I was delighted to be able to support yet another excellent event raising money for local Charities. Held at The Grange, Northington, it was packed with local traders from within our ward. A beautiful day for it. McMillan Coffee Morning This charity is close to my heart and it was yet another excellent event hosted by Angie and her team at The Swan Hotel in Alresford. Always a popular event and this year was no exception. I was pleased to be able to support it again this year. Helping local residents
I have been contacted by local residents with regards to lots of different issues. Planning enforcement, advice and information. I have been pleased to help with them and address all of these. Helping gain wheelchair access footpaths for some residents, supporting businesses with issues relating to licensing or planning and organising repairs or help address issues raised has been not only rewarding but my pleasure to help in some small way. Halloween I will in my spare time be preparing ,with my husband, for our own charity Halloween event that we have held for the post 6 years (excluding last year due to the pandemic) We look forward to seeing everyones smiling faces once again this year. Bishops Sutton Footpath update Having arranged for the footpath to be cut and also assessed by HCC for narrowing and repair issues I can confirm that we have allocated funding in the form of S106 developers contributions towards a scheme to improve the pedestrian infrastructure between Bishops Sutton and Alresford. I continue to work on the possibility of an enhancement project.

New sound equipment addition for the Community
It is with great pleasure we announce a new sound equipment addition for the Community. As a legacy from the Alresford Music Festival (20102020), the Foundation has purchased a Community & Music Community PA (public address) System. The purchase has been made with a flexible configuration in mind, where it can be used in 5 Configurations depending upon the event. This ranges from singular announcements to a full band scenario. The use of the PA System is Free of Charge. The PA System is for the use of ALL the community for any events from the Duck Race, Watercress, Santa and any music events. There are a set of rules that need to be abided by when using the equipment, and these are laid out in a Folder that is with the equipment on a sign out / sign in basis. The main rules is that if the equipment is damaged it will be on the User to make good. The Equipment is being kindly housed by the Alresford Community Centre. COMMUNITY / PROFESSIONAL Alresford Financial Dear All, The number of enquires around equity release is very strong at the moment, particularly around Inheritance Tax (IHT) planning and I thought it worth highlighting some of the key points around this. The following should not be considered advice but information which may help? A married couple have an IHT allowance of £650,00 (£325,000 each). Everything above this is liable to IHT at 40%. For example, an estate worth £1.5m has IHT liability of £350,000. This can be minimised by reducing the value of the estate by gifting assets away & putting things in trust (or simply spending as much possible!). Gifts made are normally totally tax free but are subject to IHT should the donor not live 7 years (this also tapers down over the 7 years). Often the greatest asset a client holds is their home and Equity Release may help.

Equity release is effectively a mortgage that remains with you for your whole life but the interest does not need to be paid back monthly. Rates have been rising recently probably reflecting the inflationary pressures, but are still available at around 3% and fixed for life. Inflation (CPI) is currently (September 2021) running at 3.2%. So, equity release may reduce your estates IHT liability & gifts made could benefit loved ones. With an interest rate at 3% the debt, if the interest if left to compound, will not double for over 20 years. Itchen Abbas Primary School children have been gifted a new bike rack to encourage local families to get active and ride their bikes to school. Thanks to the fundraising efforts of school parent Matt Kurton who took on an Half-Ironman Triathlon and a donation from Boomtown, children now have a safe space to store bikes during the school day. Head teacher Aimee Dear said: "Our new cycle rack will really encourage our children to consider cycling to school rather than coming in by car. That's good news for the environment too so everyone benefits."

There are several county planning matters being considered at HCC:- The Candover Water Augmentation Scheme is still far from being submitted. Thanks for all of your interest in this. But doing this will contaminate a whole bin lorry and will result in that whole lorry load going for incineration rather than to recycling. I know many people have signed out of the Covid19 ‘tracing app’. because they see no point. Local authority tracing will continue because they always trace contacts for other illnesses too, such as meningitis or food poisoning as a matter of Public Health, so Covid 19 is no exception. If you are called, and you do need to isolate or seek medical help, you can request help with food shopping, as well as practical or financial support too. Finally, would you like to start working with individual children? HCC is seeking new foster carers and needs more independent child minders . The scaffolding went up some weeks ago and work started but the early coat of paint did not harden and showed streaking due to the rain. On the advice of the specialists, Smiths of Derby - and rather than spoil the finished job - this coat has been removed and a temporary grey primer applied to protect the clock face through the winter. The refurbished hands will be refitted but there will be no lettering. And so, sadly, for the time being at least, no glancing up at the tower to check the time as generations have done. The scaffolding will now come down, to be re-erected when Smiths come back in 2022 to complete the work, once the weather conditions are better. The other delay is the planned re-opening of the Alresford Community Cinema, where The Friends of St John’s have raised over £8000 for these works. It had been intended to open the cinema in late October but the delay there has, of course, been Covid-related rather than anything to do with the restoration. n lockdown, the spare room had quietly morphed into the store room. With the annual retreat indoors for the darker, colder months under way, she decided it was time for a de-clutter. It was good for the psyche - any number of books and programmes said so. She’d sell some bits on social media; it was simple and fun. Allegedly. And it was simple. A few photos, a couple of sentences and ‘bingo’. Or rather ‘ping-go’; her phone immediately made an entirely new sound and a message from someone appeared. “Is this still available?” She typed feverishly in reply “Yes it is” and excitedly awaited a response. Nothing.. A short while later.. Ping. “Is this still available?” Same question, different item, different someone. Again she replied in the affirmative and “Would you take £20?” came the swift rejoinder. It was a bit less than she’d listed it for. And whoever it was hadn’t yet clapped eyes on it, but, well, she did want it gone.. “Yes, OK” she messaged and waited. And waited. Internet tumbleweed.. Over the next week, various enquiries ensued. Some got as far as “Please give your full address and postcode”. One even arranged a time to collect something and asked for her mobile number. She waited about. They never turned up. “It is simple, but I’m not feeling the fun” she complained to Himself. He shrugged his shoulders. “P’raps it’s a case of horses for courses. Personally, I’m in favour of a good old car boot sale for a good old clear out. People come, they look, they buy stuff. Or they don’t.. Very black and white.” Good point, well made. So Sunday morning found them in a chilly, dewy field before the sun had even risen. The last car boot of the season. With a flask of hot coffee and some sustaining bacon sandwiches, they parked and Himself opened the tailgate. A horde emerged from the gloom, brandishing torches and pushing forward, hands in the boxes, peering into the bags. “Got any records mate?” “Old tools?” “Anything military?” “Designer labels?” Himself was trying to fend off the arms reaching past him, whilst answering their questions: “Wait a minute… I’ll have a look… Yes, I

think so…. No… Now put that back…. STOP!!!!” Himself finally lost it. Sheepishly, the chastised horde rediscovered their manners, retreated to a safe distance and waited whilst he put up a table and she unpacked some boxes. The morning dragged on and not without incident. Two dealers fought over an old teddy bear; a black eye was given. A couple of things were pinched. Money changed hands – usually less than they’d asked for and no-one had the correct change or their own bags. There was also some slight confusion over Himself’s favourite camping chair: “How much is the chair mate?” “The chair I’m sitting on?” “Yes.” “It’s not for sale.” “Why not?” “Because I’m sitting on it…?” There were mutterings as the chap wandered off. But Himself, a veteran of many a boot sale had come prepared for most eventualities and was largely un-phased. And undeniably, the car was going to be pretty empty going home. She’d just waved goodbye to a large mirror, when her phone pinged. The now-familiar message “Is this still available?” appeared. Coincidentally, it was for the self-same mirror, but before she could respond with a ‘No’, the virtual clamouring came thick and fast. “Will you take £15?” “What’s your postcode.” “Give me your mobile.” “Can I collect tomorrow?” Panicking, she opened the app and swiftly marked it as ‘SOLD’. By midday they’d sold a lot and had enough. The coffee and sandwiches were a distant memory and the footfall had tailed off. It didn’t take long to pack up and leave with their jar of loot. “Go back via the recycling centre shall we?” Himself raised his eyebrows and glanced sideways at her. She nodded wearily. But one thing made it home with them; a small reproduction chest of drawers, much too nice to dump. Although she’d reduced the price from a score, to a tenner, to a fiver, there’d been no takers at the car boot. Her sales banter of “would look great if you chalk paint it” cut no mustard. She gave it one last chance on the internet. That afternoon a lady messaged her who did not beat her down on price. Who offered her own mobile number and arranged a time to collect. Who arrived promptly, declared herself delighted and paid £25 with the correct notes. In response to Himself’s questioning look as she returned indoors, she said. “You’re right. Different selling arenas suit different things.” She waved the cash triumphantly. “It really is a question of horses for courses. I sold it for a pony!”

Titchfield Festival Theatre is delighted to announce a new playwright competition with a total prize package worth £10,000. Supporting new plays and playwrights is extremely important to everyone at our theatre. That is why we have launched this new contest by providing financial incentives and a platform for playwrights to see their play performed in front of a live audience. The Winner will receive a cash prize of £1000 and see their play performed in the Acorn Theatre for one week. The package includes support from a TFT Director and a cast of actors. The criteria is simple. Your play must be a Brand New Full Length Play and never performed before. Plays of all genres are welcome, with a maximum length of two hours performance time. Submissions close 30th November 2021, with our expert panel shortlisting the finalists in December 2021. All plays will be read anonymously by a panel of readers appointed by TFT. This panel consists of a diverse mix of Patrons, volunteers, language and literature professionals, all from a wide age range and geographical area). This panel will then create a final shortlist. A panel of readers consisting of artistic directors, professional actors, directors and playwrights will meet to make the final decision. One winner will be picked from 10 shortlisted finalists and announced in January 2022. RECIPE OF THE MONTH
Simple Yellow Lentil Dhal A nice winter warmer lentil dhal. In India, dal is the term used for all dried legumes, but it has also come to refer to a simple, filling stew-like preparation served with rice or flat bread. This yellow lentil dal recipe can be made with any type of lentil, just increase the cooking time 10 to 15 minutes if using black or green lentils. (serves 6)

tablespoons of rapeseed oil medium onion finely chopped teaspoons of ground cumin teaspoons of red chilli flakes (alternatively 1 red fresh red chilli) de-seed for less heat
2 cloves of garlic 1 teaspoon of salt 200g of rinsed yellow lentils 375ml of vegetable stock 1 teaspoon of ground tumeric
Method
Heat oil in saucepan over medium-high heat. Stir in cumin and chilli, and sauté for 1 minute. Add onion, garlic, and salt, and sauté 2 minutes more. Help Nature to Re-Nature South Downs National Park
Why do we need to ReNature the South Downs? The South Downs National Park is home to some incredibly beautiful and rare habitats and wildlife. Our chalk grassland has up to 40 species in one square metre and our lowland heath is rarer than rainforest and home to all of our native reptiles and amphibians. Even here, nature is under pressure, and it needs our help. Since it came into being, the National Park Authority has worked with local partners to deliver ambitious projects, bringing together land managers, conservationists, planners and volunteers to conserve and enhance the landscape. These partnerships have not only restored habitats and reintroduced keystone species but also helped people better understand the history of the South Downs and the special role people have played in its changing character. At the moment, 25% of the National Park is managed for nature. Our goal is to increase that to 33% by 2030. This will add an extra 13,000 hectares managed for nature. But, we don’t want to stop there! We want to ensure that there really is nature everywhere, and so we want the remaining 67% to be nature friendly. Using our experience and best practice from previous projects, we will support those projects that will help us reach 33% of land for nature by 2030. We are going to be working with farmers, communities, local authorities and other partners to make this happen. Together we can create a nature network spreading across the South Downs National Park making this an even better place for nature and people, where wildlife can flourish, habitats thrive and where everyone can experience nature and wildlife at their best. Simply put, we want nature everywhere, for everyone. We cannot do it without your help.
What does ReNaturing in the South Downs look like? With ambitious goals of adding 13,000 hectares managed for nature and ensuring there is space for nature everywhere and for everyone, we will support nature recovery projects from large landscape scale restoration of entire habitats to small-scale projects in the community. Our projects will include: Woodland Trees are incredible. They give us clean air to breathe, enhance natural beauty, support wildlife and are vital for tackling climate change. The South Downs National Park has more trees than any

other National Park in England but with a changing climate and many pests and diseases, they need our help. As part of our Trees for the Downs project, we aim to plant 100,000 native trees over the next 5 years.
Heathland restoration Our stunning heathland is brimming with biodiversity but with only 1% of rare heathland left in the South Downs, we need to restore and increase this rare habitat that support so many amazing species including one of the UK’s rarest reptiles, the sand lizard. We aim to improve and expand an additional 12,000 football pitches worth of heathland. Beelines The iconic chalk grassland of the South Downs attracts a multitude of bees and butterflies with its array of stunning wildflowers. However, with a continuing deterioration in chalk grassland these key pollinating species are on the decline and in need of our support. We will be working with farmers and partners within the Arun to Adur area, to create wildflower corridors across downland linking species rich chalk grassland to sites which are in need of pollination.
South Downs hedgeroads Hedges are like highways for wildlife, providing homes, food and highways to travel between habitats. We plan to work with farmers and land managers to restore hedgeroads across the National Park. Water Our rivers, streams and ponds are vital to our wildlife. There are 1000 historic dew ponds spread across the South Downs that provided vital water for wildlife and grazing livestock. In recent years many have fallen into disrepair. We will work with landowners across the South Downs to restore this pond network for the great-crested newt, invertebrates and other key species that depend on them. We will also work to help our rivers to renature, restoring natural processes and supporting habitat for watervoles, otters and the other iconic creatures that call our rivers home. New Alresford Town Council Broad Street Pedestrianised Area During the Covid-19 pandemic, emergency measures were taken by Winchester City Council to put in place a temporary socially distanced scheme on the service road in Broad Street, from Ash Turkish Barbers to Fowler and Smith. Traffic in this area was prohibited, allowing the public a wider area of movement. Restrictions have now been lifted but we would welcome your views on making this space a permanent pedestrian area. The survey enclosed in this month’s Forum is aimed at households and businesses situated near to Broad Street and we would be grateful if you took a little time to complete the questionnaire and return it to our office by 30th November. We would like to emphasise that we are at the beginning of the consultation and all your views will be considered. The survey can also be downloaded from our website. EDUCATION Health and Wellness are important at all stages of life As a School, Godolphin recognises that good mental health and wellness is significant at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood. We realise it is our responsibility to provide up to date, thoughtprovoking and informative sessions for parents and pupils alike. Talking Mental Health and Wellness seeks to do exactly this. Every member of our community exists on the continuum of mental health which affects our emotional, psychological, and social wellbeing and therefore how we think, act, and feel, how we relate to others, react to stress, and make choices. Our aim is to promote positive mental health which allows our community to realise their full potential and make meaningful contributions, as well as equip our students with the resilience, positive emotions and practices they can use beyond their school years. On Friday 5 November 2021, Godolphin will host the Third annual Mental Health and Wellness Conference. This year, we focus on mental health and wellness as we return to school and how as parents, we can best support our young people after 18 months of uncertainty. Keynote speakers include Dr Nick Baylis and Natasha Devon MBE. Both are inspirational speakers, and I am sure will offer
Winchester College Launches ‘The Wykeham Award’ Winchester College has today announced the launch of a dedicated bursary for Sixth Form pupils, known as The Wykeham Award. The Wykeham Award will provide means-tested financial support for pupils who join the school in the Sixth Form from a UK state secondary school. Available for boys and girls, and for those who would like to join as a day pupil or boarder, the award can cover up to 100% of the school fees, as well as other associated expenses. Candidates should be confident of excellent GCSE results, and those with a talent in sport, music, the arts, or a broad range of extra-curricular interests, are particularly encouraged to apply. The launch of The Wykeham Award is an important step in realising the school’s ambition to increase the bursary provision by 25% to 150 pupils in 2024. A mother of a bursary recipient commented, “We never considered private school to be a possibility, but the bursary has given our son an educational journey that has been transformative. Winchester has the capacity to look at each child individually, to stimulate, support and challenge their interests, raise horizons and realise potential.” Dr Tim Hands, Headmaster at Winchester College said, ‘The bursary provision at Winchester is one of the most generous in the country and is there to support any pupil who has the academic ability and ambition to make the most of an education here. Other speakers include Alicia Drummond from Teen Tips who will give us practical strategies to help our children fulfil their potential, Dr Nihara Krause, a specialist in eating disorders and Fiona Spargo-Mabbs whose personal experience has shaped the charity which she set up. We will also be hearing from Tasha Lawton, who has developed her own comprehensive series of curriculum-aligned resources, covering alcohol, drugs, eating disorders, gender-based violence, periods, sex, sexuality and suicide and self-harm. John Perry has spoken to pupils and staff and returns to share his wisdom on imposter syndrome and Jo Reeves from Barefoot Coaching, will be addressing the emotional needs of children. We also look forward to hearing what Dr Emma Ross has to say on how to use sport and exercise as a vehicle to reframe attitudes towards the female body. Tickets available via www.godolphin.org
