Spotlight - Emergency badger rescue in Beech...

In October HART were called out to a site in Beech where some construction work was taking place, after a badger had been spotted down an enormous hole in the earthworks. The team, with care, patience and skill, managed to catch the badger and remove it from the hole. Despite the badger being

in his more seasoned years, he thankfully presented no major concerns, suggesting his rescue must have taken place not long after he fell. On release, the badger was quickly off the mark and knew exactly where he was going! Stories like these are excellent reminders to all of us undertaking any sort of construction work (even small-scale work in the garden), that it is important to keep wildlife at the forefront of our minds and regularly check for animals, where possible covering any holes that they might fall into when not working on site.
