CAMP CHERITH

Camp Cherith is an interdenominational Christian Camp, accredited by the American Camp Association with separate weeks for boys and girls. Our aim is two-fold: to introduce campers to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and to help them apply Christian principles to daily living. WILD ABOUT READING SUMMER PROGRAM

Go wild at your library this summer! Local libraries are hosting a jungle-themed Summer Reading Program for youth and teens this summer. Beginning June 1, participants can read to win awesome prizes as well as attend fun events throughout the summer. To get started, stop by a Lake Agassiz Regional Library location near you to pick up a reading log. The program will be offered from June 1-July 31 at Lake Agassiz Regional Library locations across the region, including libraries in Moorhead, Detroit Lakes, Barnesville, Hawley, Ada and more. LAKETRAILS BASE CAMP

Laketrails Base Camp has been guiding teens and middle school youth on wilderness canoeing and camping adventures since 1952. Located on Oak Island, MN in Lake of the Woods, campers paddle through the islands and waterways of Ontario, Canada. Sessions are 9 days with a 5-6 day canoe trip serving as the heart of the program. Other key activities include swimming, fishing, campfires, singing, and viewing the nighttime skies. Bus transportation is provided along a route beginning in Rogers, MN and ending at the NW Angle. Camping gear is provided. No prior experience is required. Bring a friend, or make new ones! Residential Camp beginning our 57th year of operation! Our philosophy remains the same today as it was when Tamahay was established in 1969: We believe in providing fun-filled learning in an outdoor environment. Tamahay believes in empowering young girls to be self-sufficient and to earn self confidence through activity. We offer horseback riding, canoeing, sailing, archery, tennis, fencing as well as cookouts and overnight camping. Our small sessions of 36 campers enable campers to get to know each other, and every counselor to know every girl.
