Our Aged Wood Sled is a wonderful winter accent piece to welcome friends and family. The rustic wood sled is distressed at the edges with a primitive star cut-out in the center on both sides. With rusty tin runners it is 11" high x 17½" wide x 8" deep. Inside the sled we started with Angel Hair Vine to give us a work base. We added a LED Light Branch, see below and a German Lux Tree decorated with a bead garland, gingerbread men, and a star ornament. The tree has green and brown pine needles mixed with twig branches for a rustic look. The bottom of the weighted tree is wrapped with burlap. Two Country Berry Picks and a couple Country Pine Sprays were used as a backdrop for the candy canes and ornaments. The Country Berry Pick has textured berries in shades of burgundy, green, mustard, and black on possible branches. I wanted to set a special scene for the holidays, and we often get questions about how to do this. I started with our Twinkle Star Wall Hanging (facing page) as a table cover. I added our popular Primitive House Set, which is painted and stained to blend with your country decor. Each papier mache house comes with a clip-on bulb and cord so light can spill out of the doorway and windows! I put the smallest house, with a snowman and tree on our Black Stool to add some height to our arrangement. Next came the wooden Pine Trees which are available in three different sizes. Their simple design is a perfect accent. The miniature Snowmen are so adorable, with their rusty jingle bell "buttons" and stitched faces on an antiqued fabric. They also have a wire so they can be hung in a tree. I took our Pine and Twig Garland, with pine branches, red berries, rusty stars, bells and snowflakes and I twisted in our Old Gold/Burgundy Wispy Garland, to add a pop of color. In the background I hung our Framed Twinkle Star Quilt Block on an angle, again to add interest to the grouping. It comes in four seperate pieces, just pull each "box" out, flip it over and stack in reverse, so the largest box is at the bottom and the hat is on the top. The largest box is 15½" x 15¾" x 15¾". The middle box has two dimensional buttons with twig accents and is 13½" x 11½" x 11½". The head and hat combined are 22½" tall. The hat is blackened tree bark with a 11¼" square wood brim. Once Frosty is stacked he is approximately 51½" tall. The Settler's Wares Cinnamon Bark Lights draped around him are on a brown cord. The entire cord and lights are coated in cinnamon bark for a primitive and rustic look you are going to love. There are 35 lights on the strand we used. They are also available in a 50 count package. We placed a Homespun Pine Pick on the bottom box for a seasonal touch.
