Rixen Cableways
Innovation out of passion The invention of the water ski cableway by Bruno Rixen, over 51 years ago, allowed the general public access to water ski sports for the first time. From this day forth we have been accompanying this discipline and providing the impulses for the present and the future through our constant technical advancements. Due to the Rixen cable parks, wakeboarding could develop to become the trend sport it is today. Our innovations of the last few years, such as
among others the first mobile double-mast system, which has opened up new fields of application both to riders and operators due to its little space requirement, are trendsetting for the development of wakeboarding. This passion for wakeboarding and the urge for perfection are our daily drive and our motivation as global market leader. See you on the water!
Rixen Cableways
Rixen Cableways - the Experts in Cable Park Business A wakeboard system basically consists of: - 4 to 6 masts, which can be set up on any waters or on an artificial lake in quadrangle, pentagon or hexagon shape. The motor mast contains the drive and the equipment for coupling and decoupling the riders. - 1 constantly running pair of cables, to which the carriers are attached at a distance of 75 to 80 m from each other, in which the tow ropes of the riders are coupled and decoupled. - A start area, which is the centre of action in a cable park, with operation platform and start ramp as well as an adjacent terrace area for riders and visitors. - Restaurant / catering area integrated in a service building with changing rooms, showers, toilets, offices and a trade counter directly in the start area. - Pro-shop for selling wakeboards and accessories
Hard facts: - Possible length of course between 350 and 1600 m - 4 to 16 carriers, depending on track length - Speed 0 – 58 km/h - Drive motor 22 – 45 kW - Capacity 350 to 410 laps/h at 31 km/h - Minimum area of lake: 90 x 160 m, minimum water depth 1.20 m Possible applications: Besides wakeboarders, the cableways are also used by wakeskaters, water skiers and kneeboarders. A great variety of sports activities in only one Rixen cable park for all age groups from beginners to pro-riders.

Rixen Cableparks – a paying investment Low investment costs, good profitability and high ROI (return on investment) make a Rixen cable park investment extremely attractive.
sations of your cable park help you present your project to communities or financial institutions.
Our engineers plan your Rixen cable park in cooperation with our traders, taking economic efficiency, sport-specific configuration and local conditions into account. The basis for this is formed by a site analysis including the assessment of the plot / lake and the catchment area. In doing so, important business areas, such as restaurant, start area and pro-shop will be individually adapted to the overall concept. As a result, your sales will increase and you will benefit from our services for many years.
The most favourable location for optimally designed Rixen cable parks are artificial lakes, as the layout can be exactly adapted to the cableways. Undeveloped areas near conurbation centres can be found more easily than existing lakes. We offer you individual turnkey solutions, also taking the problems of water renewal, cooling, evaporation compensation, etc into account.
We offer you customised solutions with high added value. No matter how “difficult” a lake is; we find the solution for your individual Rixen cable park. Upon request, we design all buildings and facilities, which we gladly make available to your architects as CAD drafts. Three-dimensional visuali-
We accompany you from your first request up to realistic viability studies and business plans for your financial institution and support you during official approval processes. Upon request, we provide you assistance concerning the acquisition of external funds via state investment banks or within the scope of an investment management.

In accord with the nature and the environment Rixen cable parks do not affect the environment - on the contrary: as a result of the splashing of water, the waters are provided several tons of oxygen per season. Examinations have shown that the quality of water is thus measurably and visibly increased. The fish populations in the lakes benefit from the high oxygen charge. This has already been confirmed by lake analyses and fishing associations. A perfect symbiosis of technology, sports and nature. Due to their restrained design, the masts are hardly visible already at short distance and integrate themselves naturally into the landscape. The electric drive of the cableway is quiet and emission-free. The whirring of the drive is already drowned out by the soughing of the wind or the rushing of the water. Wakeboarding and waterskiing stand for a modern, soft and economical way of tourism. Due to the sports activity, a considerable recovery effect is achieved “right on the doorstep. A good alternative to long distance holidays for many sports fans.
Rixen Cableways
An improvement for every community None of the communities or towns in which a system was set up within the last 50 years wanted to do without it anymore. This has been confirmed by a great number of letters of thanks by mayors and local councils. The advantages are obvious: The citizens are offered a sport which can be learnt within one hour and enthuses them from the very beginning. The sport on the cableway is inexpensive; you neither need your own equipment nor are long journeys required. The community’s recreational value is thus substantially increased. Wakeboarding has a magical attraction for youngsters; this group is thus offered an attracting and useful leisure activity. Courses in the morning have already provided a welcome addition to the curriculum and the leisure activities at many schools and universities.
The cableway is especially attractive to families; a day trip to the Rixen cable park is affordable and offers an entertaining and active programme for young and old alike. Other than in other sports institutions and recreational areas, no subsidies are required from the community, as the revenues from the tickets cover the costs. On the contrary: the community derives additional income. Each Rixen cable park creates new jobs. The restaurant and the proshop provide additional employees and tax revenues. National and international championships provide the community the opportunity to become known beyond the regional boundaries and attract international media attention.

Rixen Easy Start
Olympia Park Munich, Germany
Rixen Easy Start
Rixen Easy Start – a flexible 2-pylon-system for all fields of application In 2007 we created the market of flexible, easy-to-install 2-pylon-systems by developing the Rixen Easy Start. The success of the Rixen Easy Start could be achieved due to its little space requirements, low purchase costs and above all its wide range of application possibilities from beginner lifts to professional wakeboard lifts. It is very popular among riders of all categories because of the 3 preprogrammed modes. The endless loops mode allows wakeboarders and wakeskaters to ride without stops. Advanced and professional riders train there with and without obstacles. By making a 180° loop at the end points of the track, riders can ride as long as they like. In beginner’s mode the new customers easily learn the start and the first 50 to 150 m on the board. The fear of the unknown is taken away by the Rixen Easy Start and you attract new customers for your Rixen cable
park. At the same time you increase your sales on the “large” cableways, as falling beginners no longer obstruct the start area. As the perfect supplement in Rixen cable parks, the Rixen Easy Start generates high sales. Regarding the Rixen Easy Start we rely on safe automatic control technology, which considerably facilitates the operator’s work and excludes the accident risk of manually controlled systems. Thus, the operator can fully focus on his customers. Well–proved and well-known components of the large systems facilitate the maintenance and reduce the costs for spare parts. Large deflection wheels guarantee a long service life of the running cable. The Siemens SPS control unit ensures a high degree of safety: enough reasons for the TÜV to certify the Rixen Easy Start as the only 2-pylon-system.
Rixen Obstacles
Rixen Obstacles Wakeboarders and wakeskaters can no longer imagine life without obstacles. The obstacles in water also increasingly attract the interest of wake-skiers. Rixen Cableways offers you a great variety of high-quality obstacles for all levels. Developed by riders for riders, we have designed the optimum dimensions and shapes and tested them on water with the help of our team riders. The homogeneous and screw-free obstacles manufactured by means of a special plastic welding method provide for long and low-maintenance operation. A warranty period of 5 years is therefore just as much a matter of course as the certification for international wakeboard competitions. The newly developed, UV-resistant CPS (Cracked Pro Surface) surface structure offers far better antifriction properties than conventional obstacle
surfaces. A water film persists much longer, which once again improves the antifriction properties. This not only provides your customers more riding comfort and pleasure but also exposes the board to less stress. Our TCS (Tide Control System) automatically adjusts the obstacles to the water level variations. It is attached to the guys of the obstacles and ensures maintenance-free operation, even at frequent water level variations. Special two-colour side panels allow for the permanent “branding of sponsored obstacles through milling-out: a neat solution compared to banners and stickers that soon become yellow and come off. Create a unique selling proposition for your cableway by selecting your individual obstacle set tailored to your system from our product range. We are glad to offer you special customised products upon request.

Rixen Access
Weissenh채user Strand, Germany
Rixen Access
Rixen Access Providing the customer a benefit through innovations - this is always the basis of our development work. Therefore, we were the first manufacturer to develop an independently working access system on RFID basis, which exchanges data with the cableway control unit but cannot cause any interference. At a recording terminal at the POS area, all customer data incl. photo are saved on an RFID chip, which is worn by the customer on the wrist, just like a wristwatch. The contactless RFID technology is perfectly suitable for application in water and exhibits no read errors, unlike e.g. wristbands with bar codes printed on them. The advantages of the B.R.O. Access system: - Wear-free, contactless RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology. - Besides the ticket information, the operator is able to see the name and
the photo of the rider on the touch screen panel. - Ticket abuse can thus be avoided and the personal addressing of the customer enhances the customer retention. In addition, the operator saves time and is thus able to attend to the customer and the technology more efficiently. - The administrator is able to manage and analyse all data such as sales, types of ticket, hire equipment, customer data, etc on the server. Besides the number of laps and occupied carriers, free rides and false starts can be recorded as well. - The administrator is able to monitor the cableway operation from the POS or from home and view the current sales and attendance figures via live view. - The collected customer data can be used for the targeted advertisement of events and special offers via e-mail or by post. - A programmable interface allows for the linking of the access system to already existing POS systems.
