ABOUT FOTOMILES & WORKSHOP INSTRUCTOR
“Wherever there is great photography, Fotomiles will take you. Have a camera, let’s PHOTOGRAPH.” MAYRA ROUBACH
DON GIANNATTI
Mayra Roubach is the founder of Fotomiles. She is a freelance, Travel and Lifestyle photographer, based in Miami, Florida. Born and raised in Brazil, she comes from a remarkably diverse background. With her passion for traveling, she strives to capture the true emotions and essences of people, landscapes, cultures, in her own "novice" style. Mayra will be your host in Key Biscayne, Miami, FL.
Fotomiles is delighted to collaborate with the best workshop instructor, Don Giannatti. Don takes his outstanding Lighting workshop to the beautiful island of Key Biscayne, in Miami. He believes that lighting is the key and the basis for great photography. This is a workshop unlike any you have ever experienced. You will learn all about lighting, with information you can use immediately to increase the level of your photography.
Fotomiles is an online collaborative photography platform with unpretentious but unique ways of promoting the art of photography through highly customized workshops, and various initiatives that fuel your passion for photography.
Don Giannatti has nearly 30 years of extensive work shooting for magazines, editorial and advertising agencies, and in 2011 was acclaimed one of the top workshop teachers by PDN, Photo District News.
Our amazing itineraries will take you to fantastic destinations, offering the best opportunities to immerse in new cultures, connect with local people, try new flavors, and learn creative ways to improve your photographic skills.
His workshop is not about certain types of flashes, or big strobes, or 'natural light only'. Understanding the light and how the subject reflects the light helps photographers visualize the image before starting the shoot.

His goals are to motivate you to make better pictures and inspire you to shoot with both knowledge and heart in order for you to be successful in your photographic adventure. His new book “Lighting Essentials: A Subject-Centric Approach for Digital Photographers” is available for sale on Amazon.com.

ombining the natural beauty of Key Biscayne’s island with all the lighting essentials techniques presented by this workshop, participants should expect to create the most spectacular and professional looking photographs. Key Biscayne is one of the most fascinating islands in Miami, situated close to Brickell and Downtown areas. Our workshop will take place in the Ocean Club gated community. Completely secluded and safe, the property has wonderful parks, open areas and a beautiful private beach.
We will start our sessions indoors but will be looking at taking advantage of this wonderfull location for our photo shooting sessions.
Key Biscayne is located about 35min from Miami International Airport and 10min from Downtown or from Coral Gables and Coconut Grove.
For more information about the Ocean Club community, please visit http:// www.theoceanclub.com
For more information, please visit Village of Key Biscayne main website, and learn why so many people call it the Paradise Island (http://keybiscayne. fl.org).
Key Biscayne also has great parks, including Golf course, Tennis Courts and Marina (amazing place for sunsets). All these beautiful places can be used for shooting outdoors (weather permitting).
