F O U R S E A S O N S G O L F & S P O R T S C L U B C O M M U N I T Y, pring has finally arrived after a cold and wet winter. Over the past two months the Club calendar has been full with wonderful events such as the Winter Games, Mardi Gras Mixer, Big Game Party, Pro Tennis Challenge, Glow Ball
Event and Party on the Patty’O. I hope you have been able to attend and participate in our Club events thus far. Your committee system is busy with planning events for social, fitness, tennis and golf. If you ever have a question regarding upcoming events, the Club calendar is on the website and the App. I want to make everyone aware of the upcoming new event, Daddy Daughter Dance on April 28 in the Pavilion and the always fun Cinco de Mayo event at the Family Pool. The Board continues to work with Club Management, sharing your questions and concerns and also making sure members know what all is happening at the Club. FROM THE
General Manager
T
Dear Members,
HE MILDER TEMPERATURES USHER IN MY FAVORITE TIME OF THE YEAR AT FOUR SEASONS GOLF AND SPORTS CLUB. Springtime and Golf are two of my favorite words and I am excited about the events and programming for your Club. The entire property is starting to turn green, and soon the flowers will bloom. Anthony Williams, your Directory of Agronomy, and his team have accomplished great work in preparing both TPC and Cottonwood Valley to be among the best golf experiences in the country, and I want to thank them for their hard work. Please help Anthony and his team in maintaining your golf courses by repairing ball marks and filling divots with the sand mix provided on your carts. We are going to have a great golf season! We are striving to continuously improve the Club by providing value, excitement, and Fun! There are a lot of new value-added events in the coming months and as spring and summer advance, please take the time to read our communications to you including: Weekly News on Wednesdays, Tee Times on Fridays sent to Golf Members, Monthly Newsletters from Tennis and Fitness, the Quarterly LIFEstyle Magazine (formerly Sportsline) now mailed to your home and other one off emails that we send. These, in addition to the Club’s website and Club app, are the best way for you to become aware of all the opportunities to enjoy your Club. Your Director of Operations, Ellen Frost, has done a great job in organizing all the activities and programming for the year in our new master calendar and she and her team at Membership Services will continue to work hard in updating and adding activities based on Committee and Member feedback. I would also like to welcome to Ellen’s team at Membership Services, your new Member Relations Manager, Aimee Gassmann. We are excited to have Aimee join our team. She comes to us most recently from Austin where she was working in a marketing role for the past 9 years. Prior to that she worked as a Member Relations Director at a couple of DFW area clubs. Aimee is a graduate of the University of North Texas with a Sociology degree and has settled in the Lower Greenville area with her dog Brett. You can meet Aimee at most member events, so make sure you say hello or stop and ask for her at the Membership Services desk. I would also like to thank our Champions Club Members for their incredible contributions in making the Four Seasons Golf and Sports Club grow. Thanks to this special group of members, the majority of our new member growth is happening through referrals of our existing membership. This is absolutely the best way to grow your club and ensure we are creating the experience and programming that will be enjoyed by all. Please remember that we welcome your friends to join you at our social events and introduce them to the Four Seasons Golf and Sports Club lifestyle. To find out more about the Champions Club and how you can qualify for the benefits associated with this program, please contact Shara, Crystal, or Geraldine in our Club Sales office, or read more about the opportunity on your weekly email, Club website or Club app. Thank you for being a Member at the Four Seasons Golf and Sports Club and making your club the best it has ever been. I look forward to seeing all of you at the Club and please feel free to contact me at jim.kern@fourseasons.com or through Membership Services at 972-717-2525. See You at The Club! UR HEAD GOLF INSTRUCTOR, JACK DANESHMAND, has recently purchased the new Trackman 4 launch monitor. What is Trackman? Trackman is used by all TV production crews to produce ball flight simulations and simple statistics like carry yardage and club head speed. In fact, Trackman uses dual-radar technology to capture
27 data points to produce virtually all statistics on both the ball and club throughout
the swing, but especially at the moment of impact.
Please reach out to Jack Daneshmand if you are interested in setting up a with him to learn more. Jack.daneshmand@fourseasons.com

Analyzing Your Golf Swing IMPROVING YOUR GOLF GAME, LIKE
ANYTHING ELSE, TAKES ANALYSIS, KNOWLEDGE, PRACTICE AND TIME. If you miss on the analysis you might be correcting something that just doesn’t make that big of difference in your game.
When analyzing your golf swing, look at trajectory/ curvature of the ball, contact on the clubface and impact to find an area that needs improvement. This is where you should look to make any improvements in your swing. The corrections must positively affect that area to see improvements in your ball striking. If you are in need of help to analyze your game, reach out to one of our PGA Professionals. They can provide an analysis, plan and coaching to help you improve your game! Tim Cusick Director of Golf Instruction

JUNIOR TENNIS
TIPS FROM THE PROS
Make your Sneakers Squeak
Our afterschool junior program combines fun and all the tools to learn the game. We utilize the Quickstart USTA method that allows our juniors to play the game and learn in accelerated fashion! If you have a young one at home that would like to start or continue tennis, Stop by the tennis desk for full details.
By Hayden McQuay FS Tennis Professional
When it’s Crunch Time — Make your Sneakers Squeak! Pressure of the situation got you reaching, handcuffed or tentative upon the point of contact? When the match is tight and your nerves are heightened, focus on your adjustment steps to help maintain your aggressiveness and making solid contact with the ball!
CAMP FOUR SEASONS JUNIOR TENNIS CAMPS
Control your first serve— and the match! By Jerome Millet Head Tennis Professional
Very few of us have the chance to bang a 140mph ace at will to save break point the way John Isner or Serena Williams might. Instead, aim to control points by emphasizing a high percentage of first serves. Mix up spin, speed and placement to keep your opponents guessing and stay in control of the majority of the points on your service games. It is the key to hold serve more frequently and control the match!

Have a plan for fitness success
THERE IS NO TRY—there is only to do or not, right? Well, maybe. Cliché as it sounds most fitness programs succeed or fail before they begin.

ELL ORGANIZED PLANS SHOULD BE LIFE ALTERING. “Diets” are fine to lose a couple pounds but for sustained health improving habits, goals should be realistic and for the long term. Here are some helpful steps to get you started. 1) Get your “mind right:” Set a no kidding drop dead date in your calendar that gives you enough time to prepare and communicate with your doctor and fitness professional. Annotate the reasons you want to start a fitness plan. Are you doing it to live longer, be healthier, lose weight or look better? Whatever the reason, if you focus on it, you will be better able to motivate yourself. 2) Shop and stock: Generate a meal list of appropriate foods you like. There is a lot of high quality, good tasting whole food out there to enjoy. Pick your six favorite (healthy) dinner time foods and rotate through them for the first 12 nights. That way you will always have something to look forward to, decreasing the likely hood of slipping. 3) Set a menu: Plan out for the week all of your meals and snacks. You may need to take meals to work with you. Slip-ups often happen when you simply don’t have a better food option available. This includes planning for travel and eating out. Most restaurants have online menus. Know what you will have before you go to avoid giving into foods that are not “trainer approved.” 4) Inform your support group: Tell your family, friends, and neighbors - or anyone who will listen to you - about your intensions. This will help hold you accountable and will signal to them that they should not apply any undue pressure on you by eating poorly around you. You can set the example! 5) Establish an exercise regimen: Consult with your doctor and fitness professional about an appropriate exercise program. Everyone is different and you should build a program around your needs and abilities. Balance is key, and any age group should mix in some form of strength training with regular cardiovascular training. It is never too late to begin. 6) Put it in your calendar: Carve out times for yourself and set your workout times in your phone or computer. This makes training times official and makes you less likely to skip them. Fitness sessions don’t have to last hours and take up your whole week. Prioritize 30-45 minutes regularly to establish a routine.
PLAN TO SUCCEED AND YOU ARE MOST LIKELY TO DO SO. Set realistic goals and communicate with professionals that can help guide you. Remember, the bottom line should be to become healthy or healthier. “Reduced waistline” goals are great but should be a byproduct of establishing a lifestyle mindset of healthy living. 16

Meet Deanna Kienast
Deanna Kienast
Deanna and her husband Joe have been members of the Club since April of 2006. Deanna is a nationally represented artist with her studio in Southlake. Her paintings have been commissioned for luxury hotels, fine dining, corporate headquarters, professional offices, medial facilities, numerous private homes — and now in your Club Dining Room!

“My art is about mood, energy, color and scale, and I always welcome client input to truly capture the pop of their personality in their painting.” In wanting to engage in the club more, Deanna presented the possibility of creating paintings for the Members Dining Room. After a site visit to her studio and viewing her portfolio, it was decided to commission art that coordinates with the new decor and

I am endlessly amazed by the warm, friendly staff and having members share their comments!” Members are welcome to enjoy her complimentary art cards at the Dining Room entrance.

Stop and Smell the Buttercups at the Well & Being Spa
WAKE UP, BUTTERCUP! Spring has arrived in the form of
three new seasonal treatments in the Well & Being Spa at Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas, using products from local female owned and certified organic brand, FarmHouse Fresh.
WAKE UP BUTTERCUP FACIAL
First, a warm nectar whole milk and chicory root wrap envelops skin in hydrating fats and proteins. A pH-balanced Green Tea Milk Wash cleanse removes dirt, oil and makeup, followed by a gentle yet thorough nourishing mask with rice powder, mango butter and burdock root. Next, a crisp application of aronia fruit and rose water toner refines skin to silky smooth splendor before an exfoliating blend of a whipped micro-sugar polish smooths and bring skin to a glistening state. An Agave Nectar oil steaming compress plumps with a special blend of hydrating extracts. Then, skin drinks up an organic coconut milk mask with balancing, healthy pre- and probiotics that will leave the face feeling dewy and gorgeous. A soft, natural, whipped Shea butter massage with citrus leaves notes of sunshine to brighten the rest of the day. Begin to look years younger with the application of Crow Catcher, a peptide-enhanced silky veil that imparts an instantly addictive eye firming effect. Finally, a Three Milk botanical blend moisturizer with clinical peptides brings a rich, creamy finish that instantly feels firming as it helps spur on collagen production to reduce the look of deep wrinkles. This 60-minute service is $165. 30
WAKE UP BUTTERCUP SCRUB
Does your skin need a little pick-me-up after a cold, dry winter? You’ll be ready to seize the day after this revitalizing treatment. Start with a refreshing exfoliation with a citrus grass-scented sea salt and rice bran oil scrub with organic alfalfa root. Next, the massage is a breath of fresh air - a rich citrus-infused Shea butter cream, just slightly sweet, leaving your body blissfully buttery, supple and serene. This 50-minute treatment is $165.
WAKE UP BUTTERCUP MANICURE/PEDICURE
It’s almost sandal season which means the time has come treat those toes to a pedicure. Polish off troubles - along with dry skin - in a silky rice bran oil and sea salt scrub that will captivate the senses, as a light citrus aroma engulfs the room. A rich, long massage with lemon and tangerine infused Shea body butter completes this completely dreamy treatment. A 35-minute manicure is $50 and a 50-minute pedicure is $70.
