MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
A Letter from Becky Bartoszek As I reflect on the past months, I am in awe of the human spirit and our ability to adapt. The uncertainties of the coronavirus have placed unique demands on our daily lives. None of us could have anticipated all the challenges we now face, including those that accompany working from home amidst a pandemic. With the increase in remote workspaces, our work lives are now unavoidably intertwined with our personal lives, as we spend our days navigating childcare, remote learning, noisy pets, limited workspaces and so much more. While this new environment continues to be a source of uncertainty and confusion, it is good to remember that we are all in this together. During the month of August, your Fox Cities Chamber conducted our annual Fox Cities Employer Benefit Survey. The goal of that survey and this publication is threefold: to gauge the competitiveness of our current benefit landscape in the Fox Cities; to inspire employers to brainstorm ways they can improve the employee experience; and to highlight how Fox Cities employers have effectively adapted throughout this pandemic. Although the coronavirus has been a tremendous challenge, it has also uncovered opportunity. Organizations have adapted and changed their workplace in order to create a safer and healthier environment for their employees. To accommodate the adjusted work environment, many employers have reviewed their benefit offerings. Nearly all the employers responding to the survey reported that they changed workplace benefits and policies. Not surprisingly, employers implemented flexible schedules and remote work options to accommodate safety and health of employees as well as working parents. If you are interested in learning ways to enhance the work/life integration of your employees, I encourage you to reach out to us to learn more about our Fox Cities Employee Friendly Workplace Initiative. This talent retention and attraction program encourages the adoption of more employee friendly workplace practices and policies through a certification tool. We hope the information contained in this publication is enlightening and inspiring. Together, through understanding and compassion, we can make the Fox Cities region a place where employers have loyal, hardworking talent, and employees strive to work each and every day.
Best Regards.
