Adoption work has allowed young people to "recover", first of all, the knowledge, but sometimes also the integrated use of important spaces of the city, physical, cultural and spiritually. Over the years, the experience of the initiative "La scuola adotta un monument", both in Italy and at the European level, has shown that the scheme has its own capacity inherent to involve the whole community. This is independent of the particular context in which it operates and, instead, is related to some of its intrinsic qualities, in particular, the deep-rooted pedagogical importance of the commitment required of schools, their greatest social role, the recognition that they can be.
