TWO SUSPECTS SENTENCED TO LIFE IMPRISONMENT FOR KILLING MOTHER

wo suspects known as Stanley Legodi 48 years old and David Kgatle 43 years old were sentenced for two life sentences at GaRankuwa Magistrate court by Judge Mogotsi for murder and rape on 19 April. Stanley was sentenced for life imprisonment for killing his biologically mother Kate Legodi who was 74 years old and David Kgatle sentenced for life imprisonment for killing Kate who was his stepmother. The accused are sentenced for murder and rape and charges are running concurrently. Kate was a well-known businesswomen who was running a crèche at 1617 Mahlangu Stand in Winterveldt. The deceased was murdered on 14 February 2013 and his biologically son was arrested on the same day and stepson arrested after seven months. “Loate SAPS management congratulates Detective Warrant Officer Buti Baloyi and the justice system for bringing closure to the family, friends and community of Winterveldt, Said Constable Pertunia Chabangu.”
