A

male suspect aged 39 years old was arrested at Central City Complex (Mabopane) at the offices of Blacken Security College after he defrauded 20 security officers who trained at the College on 12 April. It is alleged that the suspect introduced himself as a member of Sebongile Security company, a company that is looking for security officers who will go and perform their duties at Eskom substation in Mpumalanga province. According to the victims he even told them to bring their luggages on Friday 09 April, because he had arranged accommodation for them in Mpumalanga. The suspect demanded R200 each from this 20 security officers (10 males and 10 females) apparently for registration. They waited for him from 07:30am to 16:30pm on 09 April and he never came and his cellphone was also off. “Anyone who was also defrauded by this man must contact Detective Warrant Officer Siko at Loate SAPS to give a statement, said Constable Pertunia Chabangu.�
